July 25, 1961, notes taken by the lawyer from Palencia, Luis Navas Carrillo. On the following Wednesday, July 25, all over Spain there was a big celebration: the feast day of its patron and father in the faith, the Apostle St. James. It was the second time during the apparitions in Garabandal that this holy day took place. Would something happen on this day? Leafing through a mixed-up stack of references and testimonies referring to this time, I found this statement from Maria Herrero de Gallardo, who wrote down what she heard from Father Valentin months later: "You see, Señora, that at times I tell you things that I don't tell anyone else, since I know that you receive them well and think about them, while many others find them ridiculous. For example, I remember the feast day of St. James the Apostle. It was almost midnight and about twenty people were watching the girls in ecstasy. At times I looked at the sky, a beautiful summer sky covered with stars, with here and there a little white cloud drifting by. Suddenly - I saw this with my own eyes, and the persons I mentioned also saw it - our patron St. James appeared on a beautiful white horse, like the tradition described in Spanish history. For a few minutes he seemed to make a path across the sky, disappearing at times behind white clouds and reappearing again. It was really wonderful." I find no great difficulty in accepting that this happened. And I would point out further how opportune would be a new appearance and intervention of the Defender of the Spanish Main, when once again it is the hour of a great battle for the faith of its people against many enemies within and without. If he was needed so much in the days of horses and swords, he is needed much more today against enemies wielding more sinister weapons in the heart of the land dedicated to the apostle called the Son of Thunder (Mk 3:17).
Glenn, if you feel this comment is inappropriate for your thread here please erase it. After reading your latest addition above I thought of how St. James is also the Patron of Pilgrims. And the very large church of Medjugorje, also named St. James, was conceived and built early on when the village was still much too small for the need of such a size....but the one who planned it had been given the vision of a future for such a need. And of course there have been mentioned in the history of Fatima how that place and its experiences became later linked to both Garabandal and Medjugorje....as kinds of extensions into our later times that still need such reminders from heaven. St. James is also the Patron for Portugal as well as Spain!

ARE YOUR HANDS EMPTY ? The Last Apparition at Garabandal November 13, 1965, was a day mixed with joy and sadness for Conchita. The Virgin appeared with her Child to the teenager but it was to be for the last time at Garabandal. As Mary had already indicated this was to be a special apparition for kissing religious objects and Conchita had many with her. After kissing the articles, the Virgin said: 'Through the kiss I have bestowed on these objects, my Son will perform prodigies. Distribute them to others. Talk to me, Conchita, talk to me about my children. I hold them all beneath my mantle. This will be the last time you will see me here but I shall always be with you and with all my children. Conchita, why don't you go and visit my Son in the tabernacle? He waits for you night and day." Conchita said to the Virgin, "I am so happy when I see both of you. Why don't you take me now to heaven with you?" She replied, "Remember what I told you on your patronal feast day? " When you present yourself before God, your hands must be filled with good deeds done for your brothers and for His glory. At the present time, your hands are empty."
TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY: JULY 27, 1961: CONCHITA IS STRONGLY REQUESTED TO GO TO SANTANDER. FIRST MENTION OF THE FUTURE DOUBTS AND DENIALS This trip was to last one week. Plotted by Don Luis Odriozola and by one of Conchita's uncles, curate of the parish of the Consolacion at Santander, this stay was really to draw the visionary away from the main site that already stood out in the Garabandal "events." The priests and physicians, members of the "Special Commission" questioned the visionary every day at Santander. Verbally jostled about, even threatened to be sent to "a house for the mentally ill," she was forbidden to receive Communion, to go to confession and to attend Mass. Instead, she was taken to the beach and the movies. They were hoping to dissuade her from returning to her village. Doctor Pinal tried to hypnotize Conchita to "find out the magic fluid from which she held her power of suggestion over her little playmates," 'concluding' that this was coming . . . from her braids! The girl ended up by "acknowledging" that she had not seen the Blessed Virgin, but she did not swear not having seen her. On the day of her arrival, Conchita fell into an ecstasy right in the middle of the street in front of the church of the Consolacion. At the same time, at the Pines, the three other visionaries also had an apparition of the Blessed Virgin. This was Conchita's only ecstasy in the capital of the Cantabrian region. In an interior locution, Conchita learned, in these doubly significant circumstances, that "there would come a time when she and her companions would deny their apparitions and doubt everything." When she returned to Garabandal, she confided this news to her mother and her aunt. Aniceta, a widow since many years and head of the family, watched over her children carefully. She asked for several signs to confirm the authenticity of the phenomena. she obtained them and had no longer any doubts. She died in 1990. Maximina, Conchita's first confidante, always supported her godchild and never doubted the supernatural origin of the apparitions. She is one of the best "reporters" of these events. This poor innocent child ( with the mentality of an 8 year old as affirmed by Doctors at that time ) must have been terrified, and would agree to almost anything to be returned to the safety of her home in Garabandal. MARY LOLI ON THE “WARNING “ YEAR July 27, 1975 Q. You have said that you know the year of the Warning. Can you tell us if it will occur in the next few years or is it still in the distant future? A. No. I can't say anything. Q. Did the Blessed Mother tell you not to speak about the Warning? A. No, she didn't , but, because the Warning and the Miracle are within the same year, I feel it inside not to say anything. Q. How do you know the Warning and the Miracle are within the same year" A. Glenn, I am not certain if you have the following video in your collection. I looked for it and I could not find it there, so you may be interested in adding it. I came across this video probably over a year ago and when I tried to re-find it I could not until I came across it in Spanish yesterday which prompted me to look for it again. This morning I had success and I want to share it with all of you. I find the story that Mari Loli's sister Amalia tells about Padre Pio to be very interesting, it begins @ the 31 minute mark but the whole video is very well done imho and it contains a lot of rare footage from San Sebastian de Garabandal. Amalia Mazón (sister of the visionary Mari Loli) tells how the apparitions began being she herself witness from the beginning of when the girls went to take apples from the teacher's tree. Maximina González (aunt of the visionary Conchita) tells of the crucifix that she still keeps that was the one that the Virgin kissed the most because it was the one that the girl wore at the beginning of the apparitions. She tells what Conchita suffered because they wanted to put her in jail because they said that she deceived other seers. They took her to Santander and threatened her saying that they were going to take her to the insane asylum and her parents to jail. Of the denials, Maximina tells of the blank paper that made her sign Conchita and that the Virgin had told them that there was going to be a time when they would deny it and contradict each other. The girl went up and down from KNEES to and from The Pines through the alley full of gravel, praying the Rosary. Then the going to the cemetery. Maximina says that the Warning will be felt from every corner of the world. That when so many people went to the town "I did not know that the world was so big" (I was then 40 years old). Mr. David (native, resident and witness of Garabandal). At that time you did not live this with the depth you deserved because some "wise men" came up saying this or that ("this is a game of girls", "hysterical girls", "telepathy, transmission of thoughts" etc.) but we told him that "everything we see is miracles". But if these people were understood, what would we say? And if the Bishop put those writings, what would we say? Therefore we did not live that with the comprehensibility of today. The pastor told the girl to ask the angel if he consecrated like a priest. And then they asked the angel and he smiled and replied that he did not have that privilege to consecrate. That he took them consecrated from the tabernacle." They also told him that if the Holy Virgin comes and sees an angel and a priest, that she bows in front of a priest. "I was always with my sister (Loli). Even at 3 in the morning, I was always with her. " "Living that experience did not need to see the Virgin. I understood that it was not for me to see the Virgin. " She continues telling us about Father Luis Andréu, about his ecstasy and his sayings in the town and before he died. Amalia witnessed when the girls spoke in ecstasy with Father Luis Andréu after they passed away (although they did not see him). "I believe that Garabandal is a privileged place more for priests than for other people, because the Holy Virgin talked a lot about her favorite sons. The GREAT love that she feels towards them. " "I do not know if after 1965 the visionaries continue talking with the Virgin, but from then on, they have a silence. If you ask them they will not answer you. " "Then the girls left from Garabandal and married men from outside. My sister died, for 8 years she had this disease. TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY: JULY 28, AND JULY 29, 1961: "TWO EVENINGS OF TEARS" As was promised, the Blessed Virgin, since July 4, was gradually explaining to the children the Message she had revealed to them. This catechesis was absolutely necessary, considering their young age and the small amount of religious knowledge they had. What, indeed, did the words "sacrifice," "penance," mean to them, and how, in practice, were they "to be very good"? The ecstasies of July 28 and 29, 1961, were to represent a kind of particularly intensive course in which only Jacinta and Mari-Loli took part. For the first time Our Lady showed them "the Cup filling up with the wine of the Wrath of God." She spoke to them of the trials the sins of humanity would eventually cause, in a time we may call "time of the Pre-Warning" (or Pre-Aviso). Mary was also to reveal to them later, the unique and inescapable event of the future Warning, a stupendous phenomenon and experience called "Aviso," of both cosmic and moral-spiritual (interior) dimensions, that would affect the whole of mankind. We could die from the effect of the emotion aroused by it. It would place us before our conscience thus "scanned" in the light of God revealing to us the evil we had done and of the good we had not done, in our lives. Through its frightening physical dimension and its prodigious divine interior action, we would know that the Warning really came to us from God, but also that it will still be a "warning of grace and mercy!" Finally, the Blessed Virgin recalled the final Chastisement of which mankind would be the object . . . should it persist in refusing to amend its ways. The first of the two "Nights of tears" occurred at the cuadro, and the second at the Pines. Sari and Mari-Carmen, mandated by Our Lady, were the only ones authorized to stay by the visionaries. "The phenomena as a whole were for me something tremendous and amazing. The fast walk over really rough terrain, almost inaccessible, strewn with the worst obstacles . . . running at times at incredible speeds, both forwards and backwards, as if the girls had wings on their feet . . . with their heads tilted sharply backwards, with their eyes unblinking and fixed constantly on the alleged vision ." The Blessed Mother speaks of Abortion at Garabandal Among the fulfilled prophecies of Garabandal was one that only came to light with the publication of a German book [Garabandal — Der Zeigefinger Gottes.] on Garabandal in 1992. The author, Albrecht Weber, was in Garabandal on the day after Conchita's last apparition at Garabandal on November 13,1965, and had a long conversation with the visionary. The following excerpt from his book deals with some of what the visionary told him: She [Conchita] spoke quite openly about the developments by which men in the near future would rebel against God. On the day after Our Lady's last appearance at Garabandal, Conchita asked the author, "Can you imagine how somebody could kill children in the womb without thereby killing the mother?" The author spontaneously answered, "No! What gave you that idea, Conchita?" "Well, the Blessed Mother spoke about this and she let me know that this will happen with the overflowing of the chalice." [In her second Message of June 18,1965, the Virgin said, "Before, the cup was filling up. Now it is flowing over."] Conchita said this tremblingly without being able to visualize what it really implied. She said further that it disturbed her very much but that she felt ridiculous because she hadn't understood at all how this killing could be effected. The Blessed Virgin had not explained it to her and up until that moment, nobody had been able to make her understand it at all. Conchita would learn soon enough when abortion became legalized, even in her native country. The Blessed Virgin had spoken about this unfortunate practice to the visionary, in terms that had left her stunned. Indeed, at the time, Conchita did not understand "how it was possible to kill a child in his (or hers) mother's womb without killing the mother at the same time . . .!" SAINT PADRE PIO'S BELIEF IN GARABANDAL : Joey Lomangino’s recall of the when he talked to Padre Pio: “We made arrangements to come back again that same day and greeted Padre Pio in the cloister. When we knelt down, we said to him, “Padre Pio, is it true that the Virgin is appearing to the four girls of Garabandal?” And he said, “Yes.” We said, “Padre Pio, should we go there? He said, “Yes, why not?” And that’s how it happened. Because I received the assurance from Padre Pio that the Virgin was appearing and that he permitted me to go, then I wasn’t afraid and I went. “ Saint (Padre) Pio affirms Garabandal to a PH.D in confession. Joachim Bouflet,PH.D. went to Padre Pio for confession in July of 1968. Padre Pio told him "Pray to the Madonna. Consecrate yourself to the Virgin of Carmel." "Yes, Padre, I pray to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. For that matter, I would like to become a Carmelite." He didn't comment on this but repeated with insistence, "Consecrate yourself to the Virgin of Carmel who appeared at Garabandal." Bouflet:"So it's true?" Padre Pio : "Certo e vero!" ("Yes, it's true!") “While he was living, the same Padre Pio guaranteed the authenticity of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin. He met Conchita at San Giovanni Rotondo. Even during the last days of his life he talked about this to his brothers in religious life and left a personal message for the principle personage of the apparitions. “ Fr. Pelletier -“Our Lady comes to Garabandal” page 219 From the book “The Final Hour “ page 141 On the topic of Padre Pio ‘s belief in Garabandal: “Asked on another occasion about its authenticity, he answered curtly, ”How many times must she appear there to be believed ? “ From the book “Thunder of Justice “ page 163 : An incident which confirms Padre Pio’s belief in Garabandal occurred early in 1966. Conchita, who was only 16 years old, was visiting Rome with her mother and Fr. Luna. She had been invited by Cardinal Ottaviani, Prefect of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith. During the visit, Conchita met privately with Padre Pio. On this occasion, he took Conchita’s hand and her crucifix that Our Lady had kissed in Garabandal and held them both in his own two hands. The crucifix had passed through the hands of the child Jesus, during the apparition of November 13,1965. Upon Padre Pio’s death in 1968 ,his close friend Father Bernardino Cennamo,was instructed to give Conchita several of his personal items. The priest gave Conchita one of the three veils that covered Padre Pio's face during his wake, saying that the stigmatist had requested this before he died. Conchita also was given Padre Pio's rosary, and one of the gloves he wore, stained by his stigmata. Conchita recounts: “I had the veil in front of me, as I was writing later that evening. When suddenly the whole room became filled with fragrance, the perfume so strong I started to cry.” The Emotion of Padre Pio about Conchita and his own words : Poor Conchita as she has suffers ... Loving the Blessed Virgin Mary with all his heart, belong to Her and working for Her, Our Lady of Garabandal, She is the one who has set her foot on the Mountain ... She is the Star on the Mountain (Father Laffineur has used Padre Pio words to call his own book “She is the Star on the Mountain) ...Padre Pio also added, We must support the seers of Garabandal……

TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY : JULY 31,1961 For the first time, the visionaries ,in ecstasy, move about on their knees ( over the rocks, unharmed ! ). They recite the rosary without having even learned it from their parents, and without prayer beads or using their fingers, and without making any mistakes ! ( this was proof that Mary was teaching them in their vision) Conchita, diary, jp89: "The rosary is a very important part of the Blessed Virgin's message"..."She recited the prayer very slowly--muy lento" Conchita, diary, jp65: "When we arrived at the altar...she started to say the Creed very slowly with the Blessed Virgin. Mari Cruz said that the Blessed Virgin took the lead and recited the prayer first, in order to teach her how to pray slowly. After the Creed, she said the Hail Holy Queen and then she made the sign of the cross very slowly and very properly--muy despcio, muy bien" (The Virgin first taught the girls how to say each prayer individually, before teaching the complete Rosary).
Glenn, someone who saw the Virgin Mary three times, a very humble person, and not know at all, told me that according to her, when the Miracle will happen in Garabandal, those who wish to attend it but who are unable to do so, because of being in hospital etc. will be brought by God to there and/or be healed on the spot where they are. I think this could be right because God can do everything (and already did it in the past) and this would also be obvious because we have a righteous God. What do you think ?
