    Our Lady expressed the need for reparation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, “which is already much offended,” and of her Immaculate Heart. In the apparition of July 13, 1917, Our Lady said, “I shall come to ask for…the Communion of Reparation on the first Saturdays.” She came expressly to request this devotion when she appeared to Sister Lucia on December 10, 1925, in Pontevedra, Spain, where she was preparing to start her religious life.
    The Motives for the Devotion
    While Sister Lucia was in the chapel with Our Lord during part of the night of May 29-30, 1930, He explained the motivation for the devotion. This explanation answered the question posed by her confessor about why the number should be 5 Saturdays and not 9 to correspond to the 9 First Fridays, or 7 to correspond with Our Lady’s 7 sorrows.
    There are 5 ways in which people offend and blaspheme against The Immaculate Heart of Mary:
    1. Offences or blasphemies against the Immaculate Conception – its denial and/or ridicule.
    2. Against Her perpetual virginity – that She had relations with Joseph and had other children.
    3. Against Her Divine Maternity, refusing at the same time to accept Her as Mother of all Mankind – denying that She is the Mother of God and our Mother.
    4. The implantation into children’s hearts of indifference, contempt and even hate against our Immaculate Mother.
    5. Insults directed against Her sacred images –displays of indifference or ridicule, and the infliction of damage to them.

    The essential elements of the practice of the devotion of the 1st Saturday Communions of ReparationWith the intention of making reparation for offenses committed against The Immaculate Heart of Mary:
    Go to Confession.
    Receive Holy Communion worthily.
    Pray five decades of the Rosary.
    Keep Our Lady company for 15 minutes while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary.

    "How I treasure the books you sent, especially "The Victorious Queen of the World and Flame of Love". I have read both over and over during the past two weeks here at Fatima...I will also ask 101 Foundation to promote these books actively, as I will do. Fr. John Haffert

    "Thank you for The Victorious Queen of the World, God's mercy is tremendous..." Mother Angelica EWTN

    About the Imprimatur, Nihil Obstat - Although Sr. Maria Natalia's mysticism was examined by competent theologians and found to be genuine, and could have received the Imprimatur and Nihil Obstat before WWII, no such examination has been possible since then, and it would be meaningless before her death, when her whole lifetime's accomplishment will be evaluated by competent theologians. the Author

    Pope Urban VIII - "In cases which concern private revelations, it is better to believe than not believe, for, if you believe, and it is proven true, you will be happy that you have believed, because our Holy Mother asked it. If you believe, and it should be proven false, you will receive all blessings as if it had been true, because you believed it to be true."

    For what it's worth: I am no theologian, but I have discerned these messages to be true and will continue to make my First Fridays and First Saturdays in reparation to Jesus and Our Blessed Mother. My question: How could this in any way be harmful.
    God bless you

    July first Saturday and first Friday done.

    Next week end will be the first Friday and the fist Saturday in August. Don't forget our sweet Heavenly Mama, and the wounds she endures because of the foolishness of us humans.

    Not only is she wounded by the many offenses committed against her; but doubly wounded by the loss of so many souls who are lost for all eternity. And this in spite of the terrible sufferings endured by dear Jesus to Redeem all humanity. And add to this the agony of our poor Heavenly mother seeing how her Son suffered for us all.

    I think the first Sunday or Monday in August is called the Portiuncular. This is by date not day, and I can't remember off the top of my head. I have probably spelt it wrong. However, someone well informed on the site will be able to tell you. This Portiuncular holds a promise like the one on the Sunday after Easter when a good confession and Holy Communion will ensure we have a clean slate in the sight of God. I believe it is a promise Saint Francis got from our Lord.

    Do look into it. Because we get not only forgiven for our sins and transgressions; but the atonement which would require time in Purgatory if we fail to do enough penance and reparation in this life is also rendered.

    Hope this makes sense.

    We all like to get our hair and nails manicured. Why not get a 'soul' manicure when it is on offer from Heaven, you just turn up 'own up' and take your Heavenly medicine. Praised be Jesus and Mary.

    Thank you Julia!

    The Portiuncula Indulgence

    In 1216, in a vision, St Francis obtained from Jesus himself the Indulgence of the Pardon of Assisi that was approved by Pope Honorius III. This plenary indulgence may ordinarily be gained on August 2 and 15; pilgrims may gain it once a year on any day of the year.

    CONDITIONS TO OBTAIN
    THE PLENARY INDULGENCE
    OF THE FORGIVENESS OF ASSISI
    (for oneself or for a departed soul)

    • Sacramental Confession to be in God's grace
      (during the eight days before or after);
    • Participation in the Holy Mass and Eucharist.
    • Visit to a Catholic Church, followed by PROFESSION OF FAITH, in order to reaffirm one's own Christian identity;
    • Say the OUR FATHER, in order to reaffirm the dignity as child of God that one received in Baptism;
    • A prayer for the Pope's intention, in order to reaffirm one's membership in the Church, of which the Roman Pontiff is the foundation and sign of visible unity.

    "At Fatima, I pointed to my Immaculate Heart as a means for the salvation of all humanity," she said. "I pointed out the way of return to God. But I was not listened to." The First Saturday devotion never really caught on, and as for fasting and sacrifice, it was now even difficult to get Catholics to forsake meat on Fridays, let alone to fast on bread and water.

    On July 28, 1973, Mary told Gobbi that the time of apostasy---the great loss of faith emphasized at Fatima and mentioned long before by Paul in his Second Letter to the Thessalonians---was unfolding. Attendance at Mass continued to decrease, both in America and in strongholds such as France, where she'd made such an effort through apparitions, and priests were being seduced or discouraged by Satan. Enemies of the Church were seizing professorships in the seminaries and colleges, making them into what Pius X called "chairs of pestilence" and sin was justified and even extolled by academics, movie makers, and the media. Laymen had stopped going to Confession, acting like devotion to Mary or the communion of saints was an antiquated superstition. Many Christians have been made a "sport" by Satan, complained the Virgin, "obscuring my place in the Church and obliterating me in souls!"

    Such an hour is the hour "when the abomination of desolation is truly entering into the holy temple of God," said the meditations. Even the pope, Paul VI, remarked in 1977 that after rereading the biblical accounts of the end times, "I attest that, at this time, some signs of the end are emerging."

    The Church had been forsaken, deprived of its inhabitants, desolated, the subject of apostasy, and as a result, mankind was approaching the brink of what Mary called "the greatest storm in history."
    (the above was taken from Spirit Daily after the death of Fr. Gobbi)

    The First Saturday reparations to the Immaculate Heart of Mary did not take off because it was never supported/encouraged by our priests. I would say that perhaps only 2% of the Catholics have even heard of it. This to me should give pause to those who believe the Consecration of the World (not Russia) in 1984 fulfilled our Lady of Fatima's request. The condition was two fold. The laity and the Pope, united with the world of Bishops, both had a unique responsibility to bring about the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart and it is obvious that both have fallen short of our Lady's requests.

    I have posted this before but no harm in repeating. I have placed a framed notice in the foyer of our church outlining the details of this devotion and a short explanation of its origin including why 5 Saturdays for the five offenses to Our Lady. Perhaps other could follow suite.

    How sad. Hopefully it will go better in other parishes. Thanks for responding.

    This so sadly true! I never hear about First Saturday from any of our Parishes - but one. I put prayer cards around our Church and Chapel and they immediately disappear. When I ask people if they have made their First Saturday, they reply that they don't even know what it is - and this coming from Catholics! We need to spread this devotion and make it known throughout the world!

    Then try placing First Saturday devotion prayer cards around your Parish. Hand them out if necessary. You can also place them in the pews around the Church.

    Getting people to come is one thing (nearly impossible), finding a priest near you who will do the confessions and Mass every first Saturday is quite another problem.

    I'm so very grateful. I have Saturday morning mass at 8:00 and confessions the same day at numerous churches throughout our city. We pray the fatima prayers and consecration to the Blessed Mother. Church is full....I love it! Wish everyone could understand how important first Saturdays are...they would never, ever miss one!

    Please remember - TOMORROW is FIRST SATURDAY. Help spread this devotion by placing prayer cards around your Parish Churches. There is a beautiful bookmark (people seem to pick up bookmarks instead of prayer cards) that you can purchase from the Blue Army: www.bluearmy.com
    866-513-1917. This is one way you can help Our Blessed Mother. The other way is to talk about it - tell as many people as possible to make their First Saturdays and the importance of it! God bless you.

    Does anybody know officially what we have to do for confession on the first Saturdays? I have read that they need to be done that day, but I think also I read somewhere that you could do it up to a week before and/or after. I am just not sure and I want to do them properly.
