Hmmmm... Doesn't sound such a great number when expressed that way but it is usually expressed per 100,00 which is 1200 if your figure is correct. It is true that abortion rates in Russia, which have traditionally been the highest in the world, have been falling and are now apparently on par with the US. But, if abortion is one of the major indicators of 'western degeneracy', then how is Russia less degenerate? Many thousands of people went out to protest in the recent 'March for Life' in the US, I don't see Russians protesting their very lax laws in that respect nor Kirill making any noise about it (nor about his leader's tendency to murder his political opponents, nor bombing infrastructure in a neighbouring country).

Go on the streets and call Biden a warmonger and nothing will happen to you, call Putin a warmonger in Moscow and say goodbye to friends and family for a decade or so. That is degeneracy.

I live near a small town population 800. We have an old convent that has been converted for refugees and we have 350 residents living there. Initially it was all men and most definitely not from Ukraine. Now there are more women moving in. I have mixed emotions about the situation. I feel for all those who have had to flee their homes, especially the children. There seems to be no common sense with the government. They keep inviting and taking in people many without documentation. Some of them are now sleeping on the streets as there is no available accommodation.

I think we're meant to have our heartstrings pulled Maryrose.
But endless fighting age males continually being dropped into small villages - as well as the bigger towns and cities is more than a worry. Its going to creat chaos eventually. Especially as none - NONE - are vetted.

The rates are appalling. Yet, it is not Russia that is promoting abortion globally as 'healthcare' and attempting to enforce abortion as a 'human right'. I am not aware of as many Russian haridans hysterically screaming for their abortion rights as there are clearly visible in the West. I would think the Putin regime is, for whatever reasons, sincere in trying to reduce abortion in their own country because of falling demographics and they show no interest in promoting it abroad. To sin, particularly in the case of a sin as grave as abortion, is one thing; to promote such sin as a great good is even worse, perhaps a version of the sin against the Holy Ghost.

There's no point in trying to portray any good guys in this conflict. There are only various degrees of evil and I, a citizen of a constitutionally neutral country, certainly see no point in lending my support to the 'West', which I perceive as the original aggressor.

If lack of freedom of speech is 'degeneracy', then most governments throughout history have been degenerate. Enlightenment values are far from identical to Catholic morality, which does not feature denial of free speech as a sin, to my knowledge. The Catholic Church has never condemned dictatorship as a form of government and is not a human rights NGO, although many in it think that's what it is. It has, through the words of Christ Himself, called on us to obey legitimate authority. Democracy is only a recent development and it's increasingly seeming to be a work of the devil, if one is to judge it by its fruits.

AED, I've extended this post, if you wish to reconsider your 'like'!

    Agree.

Please consider but this one example of our “enlightened “ societies.

Are we that different from China?

Maybe that’s a case of the pot calling the kettle black but can anyone disagree with President Putins words below.

RUSSIA WARNS OF HOLY WAR – RUSSIAN PRESIDENT BELIEVES WAR IS A BATTLE AGAINST “SATANISM” IN THE WEST
    January 21, 2023 stephen ryan 876 Views 0 Comments

Russian President Vladimir Putin Friday presided over a ceremony at the Kremlin to annex four Ukrainian regions partly occupied by his forces. He accused the West of “outright satanism” during a 37-minute tirade at a ceremony announcing the annexation of four Ukrainian territories.

Following are extracts from his speech As the risks of nuclear war intensify the Russian president, in a fiery speech directed at the United States said “Now they have moved on entirely, to a radical denial of moral norms, religion, and family …” “The dictatorship of the Western elites is directed against all societies, including the peoples of the Western countries themselves.

This is a challenge to all. This is a complete denial of humanity, the overthrow of faith and traditional values. Indeed, the suppression of freedom itself has taken on the features of a religion: outright Satanism.”

I just don’t see Pope Francis going to the city of Moscow now. The war has escalated. Maybe the prophecy already was fulfilled by the Pope visiting the Russian embassy.

I don't have time to watch the video, but nuclear weapons are primarily used as a deterrent.
In my opinion this will remain.
The use of tactical nuclear weapons on the battlefield could possibly make sense for the Russians to destroy larger accumulations of Nato/military material.
And perhaps also to shock the West.
Or/and to initiate the advance into Western Europe announced in the prophecies.
A nuclear attack on America will certainly only take place as a counter-attack.

Nevertheless, further escalations are to be expected, especially from the West. Which of course makes a Russian reaction logical.
For example, the delivery of offensive tanks from Germany, among others.
Or also this, written in NY Times (behind a paywall) with the headline "U.S. Warms to Helping Ukraine Target Crimea" :

"The new thinking about Crimea - illegally annexed by Russia in 2014 - shows how far Biden administration officials have come since the war began, when they would not even publicly admit that the U.S. was providing Stinger anti-aircraft missiles to Ukrainian troops.
But as the conflict has progressed, the U.S. and its NATO allies have continued to loosen the handcuffs they had placed on themselves, moving from providing Javelins and Stingers to advanced missile systems, Patriot air defense systems, armored fighting vehicles, and even some Western tanks to enable Ukraine to defend itself against Russia's attacks.
Now the Biden administration is considering one of its boldest moves yet: helping Ukraine attack the peninsula, which President Vladimir V. Putin considers an integral part of his quest to restore Russia's former glory.
American officials are discussing with their Ukrainian counterparts the use of U.S.-made weapons, from HIMARS missile systems to Bradley fighting vehicles, to potentially attack Putin's hard-won control of a land bridge that acts as a key supply route linking Crimea to Russia via the Russian-occupied cities of Melitopol and Mariupol."

    Edit:

    Quote from another article:
"However, Moscow seems to have other fears, as on January 19, Russian Telegram channels and early Russian media reported that cranes were seen in Moscow hoisting Panzir anti-aircraft systems onto the roof of the Ministry of Defense and other buildings. The Panzir is a short- and medium-range mobile air defense system that can repel flying objects at a range of one to one hundred kilometers.
There seems to be a fear in Moscow that Ukraine may possess (or obtain in the very near term) weapons that have a much longer range than the ATACMS and with which the Ukrainian army can fire as far as Moscow."

Since internal Russian law legitimizes a nuclear strike if its own territorial integrity is threatened, we do not know how a Russian response to a bombardment of Moscow or elsewhere would be judged.
I personally believe that we are already experiencing chaos, but that something is still missing to reach a negative peak.

This could be the Russian invasion all the way to Berlin. At the latest then, we will hopefully experience The Warning.

All the prophecies point toward war escalating immensely after :

1- the death/assassination of a head of state in eastern europe

    and/or

2- the pope returning from a visit to Moscow.

Once one of the above happens, anytime we will be heading to an apocalyptic scenario.

As for the warning, I believe there will be many events before its happening (ww3, communism, church closure, schism in the catholic church, things should be at their worst. etc..) I don't believe we are yet at this moment, it might take a couple of more years.

I don’t think a couple more years, but I do believe it most likely won’t come this year. Unless it all escalates in a month.

This article gives a good over-view of the present state-of-affairs, in my opinion:

    https://bigserge.substack.com/p/rus...od?r=7ct73&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email

As far as I can see, the West hasn't the guts to properly assist the Ukraine and are lending them just enough to keep their war effort alive, but inadequate to win it. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian combat-fit become inexorably defeated and their country is slowly bombed into oblivion. Of course the West did their best, but those nasty Russians are all to blame.

    Note this: https://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-al...-from-firing-missiles-into-russia-11670214338

Bradley's just seem to be armoured personnel carriers, while the Ukrainians were looking for battle tanks. They might get some Leopards, an ageing seventies tank which seems to have been very vulnerable in Syria. The Russian T90 is supposed to be its nemesis.

The question must be asked; if the Ukrainians were doing so well up to now, as the mainstream media told us, showing the Russians up to be a military clown car, why are the former now so short of weaponry and military personnel?

Communism has returned. The ideology of communism isn’t just about the economy or private property. The part of communism that is most offensive to God is what’s happening in the world today. It’s about the Godless world, and it’s war against the family. Communism is a diabolical system that destroys the inner soul. It’s here already.
