Today I threw a baby shower for my sister at my house. Our aunt and uncle were supposed to come and bring our cousins--aged 16 and 14--with them, but apparently they took them to get their 2nd round of the Covid vaccine yesterday and they're both feeling terrible and can't get out of bed. The worst part of it is...they ALREADY HAD COVID last summer and it was so mild for them they only had a sniffly nose and a headache. They're literally suffering worse from the vaccine than they did from the real thing, and for what? They already have antibodies. It makes me so sad for them. My aunt was still thinking of dragging them to the baby shower but I had to kindly ask them to keep them home due to potential for vaccine shedding. I don't know for sure if that really happens but I've heard too many stories of people around newly vaccinated people having terrible periods and such to risk it. Unfortunately, my aunt texted my husband and tried to "educate" him on the vaccine and sent him a meme that says it doesn't shed, and he responded that he doesn't believe Covid propaganda. Lol. She didn't take that well, told him she "believes in science," and chose not to come to the baby shower at all. My uncle still came and had a wonderful time.
It's so sad isn't it? Good friends of my daughter's were joking yesterday before going to get their shots that they would be able to connect to their smartphones afterwards! (that's the latest rumor, that people show up as IP addresses after shots). They know the rumors but don't bother to look into it. How about sending friends books or videos on unrelated subjects that take a wider view of things, to get them to think? They don't know that every spoken or written word could be propaganda! I'll bet they don't know much about Edward Bernays, Freud's cousin. He did loads of social experiments to manipulate the masses and their behaviour and he used the press to do it with full support of government and industry (he was paid by corporations). He is the one who got Americans to eat bacon for breakfast - it was total propaganda (aka marketing) scheme. He also staged a public event with paid actors, women who marched for 2 days (in the Easter parade no less) for freedom smoking cigarettes as symbols of torches of freedom - all of this to boost cigarette sales! The press ran the fake story as something real, and it got relayed by all the others who just ran with it as if it was a true story and that fake event got women smoking - he was paid by the tobacco industry for this. Today in medicine when the subject of women & tobacco comes up, this "event" is never mentioned yet it was documented and Bernays bragged about it. There is a very good documentary called The Century of the Self and Bernays figures in a large part in it, it's worth watching as a Christian to understand the whole cultural/spiritual events of the last century. Probably not as helpful as a prayer or penitence for others, but still I keep hoping! I bless this type of thing before sending it, asking the Lord to open hearts who read or watch it.
