So well said, Peter. I agree with every sentence, and have said as much to friends many times over. The reason they dismiss any and all talk of 'end times' is precisely because of this 'overheating.' And frankly, I think the vast majority of these "words being spoken" to people, even some of the most popular, are a purely subjective experience they are having in their minds.

One of the more poignant things my Trappist spiritual director told me during my time at the monastery was "during prayer, most people are simply talking to themselves." I think that's true, especially in our age, when the slightest hint of dryness and boredom can be relieved with such a vast cornucopia of distractions. So the souls are few who are able to endure the many long years, decades even, of dryness in prayer which is one of the hallmarks of a genuine spirituality. The souls are many who soak up the river of noise, take it to prayer and have it regurgitated and reprocessed as a "sense," a "feeling" of doom and foreboding. Then they use the world's largest megaphone to tell like-minded souls, which strengthens the whirlpool.

I wonder about our Lord's words: "When the Son of Man returns, will he find faith on the earth?" I wonder about the mass apostasy. What are the conditions which could really drain the faith of so many?

One of them is, of course, the delay of the bridegroom. What if he doesn't meet our timetable? What if this feverish spell passes, nothing happens and the gathering crowd goes home disappointed and frustrated, that yet more prophecy has failed? (When in fact it was only the internet maelstrom which failed). Will everyone give it another go in five years or ten? Or will a great weariness settle in, and souls simply return to living a worldly life, settle in for the long haul, and just start enjoying the things of the world again?

We must ready our hearts in so many ways, each day, for the rest of our lives, even if that means 50 or 100 years of a world continuing to collapse. "The iniquity of the world must reach its fullness." It is not ours to judge how full the cup is, that is the Lord's alone.

We have only this life to live by faith. After this, we can no longer prove our love for God, it will be given, permanent and perfect. So that keeps me going. I want to prove my fidelity, especially in evil times. Like all of us, I was born for these times.

I can certainly relate to what you are saying here ... especially when it comes to a certain fatigue due to the delay of the Parousia. The hardest thing is obtaining a proper balance between following Paul's counsel not to despise prophecy and falling prey to auto-suggestion. The present situation is very frustrating in many ways in that the majority of Christians seem to have adopted one of two equally unhelpful positions: either they espouse an implicit cessationism that falls little short of Deism (i.e. effectively believing that God will never actually say or do anything, at least not in their lifetime), or else they devour all apocalyptic prophecy uncritically.

It takes a lot of hard work to convince people that the Catholic eschatology that emerges from a responsible reading of Scripture and Tradition (including the approved mystics discerned over the centuries by the Church) is emphatically not the same as the 'Left Behind', pre-tribulation rapture variety. And yet the evidence is all there for anyone who really cares to combine the teaching in the Catechism with a study Our Lady's approved apparitions or the mystical writings of those who have at least attained 'Servant of God' status posthumously in the eyes of the Church: unresolved questions certainly remain regarding the interpretation of Biblical apocalyptic, but an outline of a theologically coherent eschatology and its relationship to the history of the late modern period can be clearly traced.

As the likes of Mark Mallett and Fr Joseph Iannuzzi have consistently and IMHO very successfully hammered home, we have indeed arrived at an eschatological turning point in the story of 'the ages' (and have arguably been there at least since La Salette). Evangelicals share this view to some extent, but frequently show an unfortunate lack of maturity is in a tendency to look at eschatology in terms of a quick fix - epitomized by the pre-trib Rapture - rather than seeing the 'Day of the Lord' as a season within history requiring patient endurance. I perhaps ought to emphasize that this tendency to a simplistic view of eschatological timelines is not all their fault, as their roots in the Awakenings of the late 18th and 19th centuries mean that they are playing 'theological catch-up' from a pretty rudimentary starting-point. My own experience (and I say this after making a presentation last week to a very open group of highly committed - in a positive sense - Evangelicals in which I gently introduced them to the evidence from Fatima) is that if you can overcome some problems of vocabulary and thought categories, many of them are less psychorigid than might be imagined. They're not necessarily hostile, just unaware. So don't give up on them, especially in prayer: they need you!

 

According to LTTW, currently there is a hidden priest, which will show himself before October 13, 2017. He we'll be the new Pope after Francis.
Francis should die in Jerusalem as martyr when Israel will almost be destroyed and then, consequently to Francis death, Hebrews will know that they've been saved by the Catholic Church, so Catholics and Hebrews will face the tribulation together.

 

Ok. What I mean is that I'll follow LTTW really, really closely if its predictions will be right. On the other hand, in the previous year, LTTW has been the first source which talked in detail about an economic crash for this year, for what I know. I don't know about other seers which said that days before than LTTW. This is why it should be really considered worthy of attention.

 

Servant of God, Father John Hardon SJ, believed that most 'messengers/apparitions/locutions are not true. He said all true ones contain one essential characteristic. Humility. Using this single criteria, one could rule out a few that get mention on MOG forum IMHO.

 

I'm so happy I stumbled upon these forums and have found such an outstanding group of like-minded souls, striving to listen in the midst of the din, feeling in their heart the importance of the times, reasoning with their minds the approved apparitions, discerning with their spirit the movement of the Church. This is a great little harbor on the web I have found, and I'm grateful. (I still need to carefully moderate my consumption, though).

I would highlight Emmett O'Regan's work "Unveiling the Apocalypse: Prophecy in Catholic Tradition." His scholarship is quite good, and he remains steadfast in his commitment to using only approved apparitions, scripture and church teaching.

 

This is further evidence that we are in a time of great confusion and blindness because a majority of the world has rejected God. The remedy of not being deceived by false prophecy or being distracted by them (we know from the Bible that in the end times there will be great confusion and deception and false prophets - so if we are in the end times, one must be aware of this reality), is to focus a majority of one's time on actual prayer and penance. Simply put, if we pray more Rosaries, pray more Divine Mercies, fast, do penance, spend more time before the Blessed Sacrament, go to confession monthly (if not weekly) and go to as many daily masses as one is able to do, then God will keep one united with His will and He will prepare one for what is coming.

There has been enough prophecies over the last couple of decades telling us that the Church is entering a great time of persecution and telling us that the world will soon go through a chastisement, that we don't need to keep reading these constantly in order to keep getting our "fix" of prophecy (I am not against reading these and trying to discern them, but I find myself struggling [and I don't think I am alone] with putting too much into the "need of the next message" rather than taking that time and spending it with our Lord and Blessed Mother in prayer). We must recall the words of St. Peter telling us that the Devil and Demons are like "Roaring Lions looking for someone to devour" and if all they can accomplish with us is to distract us from prayer by having us pay so much attention to visionaries (whether legitimate or false), then that is a victory for them because the less we pray and do penance, the less God can use the merits from us our time in prayer and penance to send grace to others.

 

Amen to that. I've always said Fatima is enough for me. It does not take a theological genius to figure out we're circling the drain quickly as a society and the storm is upon us. The signs have been all around us if we have eyes to see them.

Pray, receive the sacraments often, and prepare how you feel led by the Spirit to prepare. I only skim over the vast majority of info out there, it's beyond clear to me that whether it comes today, tomorrow, next year, or next decade, it's coming . . .

Russia hacks Pentagon computers: NBC, citing sources

U.S. officials tell NBC News that Russia launched a "sophisticated cyberattack" against the Pentagon's Joint Staff unclassified email system, which has been shut down and taken offline for nearly two weeks. According to the officials, the "sophisticated cyber intrusion" occurred sometime around July 25 and affected some 4,000 military and civilian personnel who work for the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Sources tell NBC News that it appears the cyberattack relied on some kind of automated system that rapidly gathered massive amounts of data and within a minute distributed all the information to thousands of accounts on the Internet. The officials also report the suspected Russian hackers coordinated the sophisticated cyberassault via encrypted accounts on social media.

The officials say its not clear whether the attack was sanctioned by the Russian government or conducted by individuals. But, given the scope of the attack, "It was clearly the work of a state actor," the officials say.

They stressed that no classified information was seized or compromised and that only unclassified accounts and emails were hacked. Almost immediately after the cyberattack was detected, the Pentagon took the aggressive step of shutting down the entire Joint Staff unclassified email system and Internet during its investigation. The system should be back online before the end of this week.

Why the Boy Scouts' new policy led a Catholic bishop to cut ties

Bishop David Kagan of Bismarck, himself a former boy scout, has reluctantly told his North Dakota diocese to disaffiliate from the Boy Scouts of America due to the legal risks and the moral confusion its new leadership policy could cause for Catholics.
“I’m very disappointed with this whole turn of events. I just can’t express that adequately enough,” Bishop Kagan told EWTN News Aug. 6.

He said the Boy Scouts’ new policy risks lawsuits for church-sponsored troops that attempt to hold their leaders and volunteers to moral standards.

“I can’t say it’s a probability, but it’s a distinct possibility. It’s a reality we have to face,” he said.

Troops sponsored by a parish or a parish school would have to expect Catholic moral standards of leaders and volunteers. Those who disagree with those standards might object.

“Then we’ll be embroiled again in something else,” the bishop said.

“I had to ask myself ‘do I want to put our pastors, our parishes, our schools or diocese through something like that?’ I don’t think anyone wants that.”

The bankers knew from their mentor, Meyer Amschel Rothschild, that if they had control of a nation’s money they didn’t have to worry about the laws. So they created fractional reserve banking, which in effect meant that they could expand the banks’ balance sheet infinitely, with very little capital.

This fractional reserve banking involved creating money out of thin air and it was and continues to be highly inflationary because it involves leverage of 20 – 50 times. Thus, when hard earned money was deposited in a bank, bankers could print at least 10 times that deposit and then invest or lend it out for their own benefit.

This means that the depositor or saver already lost a major part of his money the day it was deposited since at least 10 times more money was created out of thin air. But as the bankers found out that their on-balance sheet lending was somewhat restricted, they created off-balance sheet derivatives and investment vehicles.

The $200 Trillion And $1.5 Quadrillion Problems

This is how the world debt grew from virtually zero 100 years ago to $200 trillion today. And derivatives went from nothing to $1.5 quadrillion. Central banks also added fuel to the rocket by printing tens of trillions of dollars.

All of this has created the most incredible journey for investors, a journey that has been exponential in its trajectory. So investing has been easy if people just jumped on the rocket because they can’t lose money. Endless credit creation and money printing has seen to that.

A privileged few have become immorally rich and many more have made a lot of money. There is just one little dilemma — on the other side of the asset bubble balance sheet there is a debt of $200 trillion that can never be repaid and is barely serviceable at zero percent interest rates.

The End Of The 100 Year Bonanza

Eric, we are now at the end of this 100-year-old bonanza, but the sad thing is that the world doesn’t think it can end. In my working life I’ve experienced downturns in the economy and markets a few times — 1973, 1987, 2000 and 2008 stand out. At the time they seemed scary but investors have now learned that any correction is always temporary, so it is always right to be long both stocks and property.

So in the finance sector massive wealth has been created, not based on skill but on money creation. Imagine if some of that capital and talent had gone into the real world and created real businesses and real products. Instead of the biggest asset bubble in history we would have had a better world where real work, invention and entrepreneurship would have been rewarded.


All Hell Is About To Break Loose, Triggering Unprecedented Worldwide Fear

Eric, I fear that this coming September – October all hell will break loose in the world economy and markets. A lot of factors point to that, both fundamental and technical indicators and this indicates that we could have a number of shocks this autumn.

Sadly, most investors will hold stocks, bonds and property and will see any decline in value as an opportunity. It will be a long time and a very big fall before they realize that the system will not help them this time because the central bankers have run out of ammunition to save the global financial system one more time. Yes, we will see more massive money printing, but it will just make things worse. And at some stage, which could be quite soon, real fear will set in, a fear of a magnitude the world has not experienced before.

What’s now happening with the yuan will spread to country after country, with an accelerated devaluation of all currencies in their race to the bottom as they try to gain a competitive advantage. This will result in the destruction of all paper currencies.

The collapsing currencies with all the money printing will turn the current deflationary phase into a hyperinflation. But even during the hyperinflation we will see a deflationary collapse of all bubble assets such as stocks, property and bonds.

This is why investors must be protected against the unprecedented risks, which are of nuclear proportions.

 

So how does one protect themselves - of course speaking only from a material sense here? It sounds as if he is saying, no paper money anywhere will be "worth" anything, property will not matter, and anything you saved will be lost. I certainly want to focus more spiritually, but as a Dad, a provider its in my DNA to "protect". I feel helpless and not sure if there is much to do to "prep". I suppose getting basic supplies - canned foods and water? What are others doing here?
