Hi All, I am relatively new here, though I have been “lurking” on the forum on and off for a year since my reversion. I was just reading Andy's post “Some personal concerns” about being upset now that the prophecies are not something in the future anymore, but that we sit on the eve of their fulfillment. I just wanted to ask people if they feel this is accurate or not? Have people always thought something “was about to happen” or has something changed this past year? As I mentioned I only came back to the faith a year ago and since then all the talk on the forum has been about prophesied events happening “now”. My question is has the feel of the forum changed from these prophecies being about “something in the near future” to “now”?

Greetings! I once found a web page (can't track it down now, but I'll bet it's still out there) that listed end-of-the-world movements in the Catholic Church through the centuries. For every century since Constantine permanently decriminalized Christianity, there have been between 5 and 10 such movements! (Not so much anymore, as those people with those beliefs tend to join one of the Protestant churches.) This is why Catholicism has developed a policy of teaching that all these signs you read about in Scripture won't happen for centuries and that anyone who thinks the end is near is a wack job. That policy won't fly anymore. Ever since 1948 when Israel (per Isaiah) was created in a day, or since 1967 when Jerusalem was captured in the 6-Day War and the time of the Gentiles ended. Things may not be happening as fast as we might like or expect (I've been trying to talk to my family about the War of Psalm 83 and the War of Gog-Magog for 8 years), but the pieces are lining up. In addition, when I was growing up the only apparition sites I heard about were Guadalupe, Lourdes, and Fatima. Not that there weren't others, they just weren't talked about unless it was to discredit them (as in the false messages from Necedah, WI or Bayside, NY). Now we have had apparitions of Mary all over the world -- almost as many from the mid-1800s to the present as in all the centuries before. (And those are the ones that have recv'd some level of approval by the local bishop. How many others are currently being evaluated?) And these are apparitions. It seems like there is a veritable explosion of locutions around the world. The great majority of these are false; still, that's a lot of heavenly nagging going on by Mary, Jesus, and the saints. Additionally, the messages in these visions and locutions has changed over the years. Starting with the apparitions at Rue du Bac, Paris (the Miraculous Medal), in addition to the warnings that were clearly soon-to-happen (famine, etc.) there were warnings that indicated a long period of time before fulfillment. As each apparition occurred, though, the messages have become more and more urgent with the sense that the time to fulfillment was rapidly approaching. If Medjugorje valid (and I will follow the Vatican's determination on this), then its' messages have a sense of divine judgement being at the door. So to answer your question, yes, people are sensing that the prophecies aren't that far in the future, but for all intents and purposes, are "now".
First off Praetorian...welcome back to the faith of our fathers...God has been searching you out all these many years...welcome back my brother. We are indeed in decisive times...everyday we are called to make difficult choices for God. I think many are being baptized by the martyrdom of trying to be faithful sons and daughters of the Most High. In all human history we were chosen to live out this unique path...in this time...in this place. As we travel this unknown path...all one has to ask..."is this path to greater knowledge and greater love for God or is this path leading us to destruction...alienating from everything that is good and Godly". The answer is obvious. So if we are Gods family...and we pursue destruction...then yes...God is responding and He will save His children...with discipline and love. I personally feel that the year of Mercy proclaimed by Pope Francis will be Gods last attempt to ingather His family...I may be wrong...but "no Mercy without Justice and no Justice without Mercy". They really are complimentary.

(Diary 1588) He who refuses to pass through the door of My mercy must pass through the door of My justice. (Diary 1146). These above are from St. Faustina. Not sure what the Jubilee of Mercy will look like because some seem to insinuate that a person can continue to sin and that is not so; also a person must desire mercy and repent. But with the 100 years from Fatima to follow the Jubilee, it does seem like something is unfolding.

I find is fascinating that before the Israelites were allowed to leave Egypt God hardened pharaohs heart and would not release them until the firstborns were killed and all the plagues had taken place. I believe that's because God wanted a complete victory so that there would be no doubt about who God IS and HIS omnipotence. I think that's what HE is doing now. When HE is victorious there will be no misunderstanding that it was by HIS hand and no other. You will either be with HIM or against HIM. God Bless!
I have always been on the sceptic side in regard to and about or with prophesies of events but over the last 15 years I can no longer (bury my head in the sand) discount the dispicable crimes against the innocent and the depraivty that is not just evident but also celebrated in the media and so much evil is seen as good today. Who will listen to the truth?. Not many in power. Maybe there is none. We are the minority. Even those we would have considered as friends yesterday, are really against us now and not our friends but our enemies. God save us all. The decieved and the not decieved.
It is, past, time for all here to quietly-n-prayerfully to take a hard look at neighbors, friends and church members and attempt to discern who will stand with The Faith and who will not. Who will need our help and who might be of help to us .... and who might stand with the enemy to do us harm. Time for separating the Goats from the Sheep ... and Sheep Dogs from the Wolves! I'm not sure this can be so easily discerned ahead of time. Everyone will choose a side, and I'm preparing my heart for big surprises. How many had a hard time welcoming St. Paul into the fold? May the Blessed Mother preserve us all from lack of forgiveness.
I am confident that just as the Holy Spirit has given me the light to see the signs of the times, as well as a sound foundation of the faith, he will also give me the light to know who I can affect (both physically and spiritually) when the storms sets in. Our discernment now may be flawed in who He wants us to help, but the HS will enlighten us to help people our human judgment may have bypassed at the present. For instance, yesterday I had a professional tree cutter take down a couple of 60' cotton trees near my house. My wife met with him the day before while I was at work. She said, 'he is really weird'. I said, all guys who cut trees spending their day's 75' in the air are not going to be all the normal. After he got done dropping those trees I started a conversation with him. He gave me some tips on how to cut and drop trees etc... and then it went into life topics and the state of the world. I sensed that God wanted me to speak deeper with him. He goes to our church, sometimes, and is a convert to the faith and seemingly a decent man. For about 1/2 hour or more he heard things that had never entered his mind. He learned of Fatima, Garabandal, Akita prophecies as well as others. It was like a mother reading a child a kids book as they are in awe. He knew the world was in trouble and he just learned a great deal of what the persecution ahead is all about. This was a man who at a glance you would say lived at the bars and was clueless. Goes to show you that you can't judge a book by its cover. The day before I had lunch with a mechanical engineer who I had brought into work for some technical design on our hvac systems. I had visited with him before, so he knew that I had no problem talking the supernatural. He is a really good man, who loves God and hates what he sees that has morally gone wrong. We talked for over an hour on many of the same topics as I did with the tree man. It is such a joy to speak of God, our times and what is forthcoming to those who have ears to hear.
Nothing of critical importance has ever been easy. Waiting for "The Thief to Come in the Night" before discerning and preparing for same is a prescription for disaster. Sadly, USA, we have withdrawn into our little worlds of crap made in China and hardly know our neighbors, co-workers or church members anymore ... so ???? I can assure you that satan & pals have scoped out who their friends and enemies are ..... and are preparing for and already engaging The Faithful in Battle!!! GOD SAVE ALL HERE!!
Satan and pals are going to get their share of surprises too. God's grace will bring many back whom the evil ones thought was in their camp.
I agree. It's not a coincidence that Pope Francis has declared the Holy Year of Mercy to commence on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. It is Mary, our Mother, who crushes the serpent and we start this year of grace on a feast day that says she is the only human being EVER to be conceived, born, and to NEVER have given in to the evil one -free from sin forever! She leads us to the Font of Mercy and I believe strongly that many, many souls will be immersed in mercy.
wasn't it satan left with 1/3 the angels, so that still leaves 2/3 on our side and that is pretty decent odds.
I should know this and I know it is posted somewhere here but can someone tell me exactly when the year of mercy begins and ends?

November 20, 2016 is the Feast of Christ the King, the last Sunday of the Liturgical Calendar of the Church. The following Sunday, November 27, 2016 (the Miraculous Medal feast day), is the First Sunday of Advent of the Liturgical Year 2017. Antonio Yagüe (of the thread Sacred Astronomy and End Times) has found in his astronomical studies, which he presents as hypothesis, not as prophecy) that the date for the 6th Seal of the Book of Revelation corresponds to November 11-13,2016. This is only ONE WEEK before the CLOSING of the Jubilee Year of Mercy on the following Sunday. Antonio hypothesis for that event is that it has two aspects, the interior-spiritual aspect, which is The Warning or Aviso of Garabandal and many other sources besides Scripture, and the astronomical event of the Earth's Pole Shift, global earthquake, tidal wave, and consequent flooding of lands by the oceans. He had found this date way before the Holy Father called for the Year of Mercy.
