The seer of Medjugorje, Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti, has received a letter in which she was asked not to attend public meetings. I first read about this yesterday from the site crownofstar.blogspot but now they have took it away. In it was said that Marija was not to attend public meetings which promote the Medjugorje phenomenon. The link below is in Italian and in English. http://www.guardacon.me/Default.asp...olo+per+salutare+a+conferma+delle+restrizioni It seems that the information by Gianluca Barile in June 25th was not a disinformation. On 2nd August we will see if Mirjana has her 'apparition' in Blue Cross.
I'm sure Our Lady must not appreciate people constantly trying to undermine her work there, considering the all the good fruits that Medjugorje has produced and continues to produce. Critics of Medjugorje will have a lot of explaining to do if or when the place is authenticated by the Church or the secrets transpire to be correct.
There is a page about this situation at http://www.nationalmedjugorjemovement.com/news/padua-bishop-bans-visionary/ It is unclear at the moment whether the Church will restrict the visionaries witnessing in Medjugorje itself. Although this, I suppose, can be viewed as the prudence of the Church, it is so unfortunate that the biggest sign of hope and conversion within the Church should meet this kind of resistance. Yet it has always been this way.
The Medjugorje Today site says it differently. To read more about it requires that you pay for reading. July 12: Marija announces goodbye to public witnessing Visionary Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti announces the end of her talks and public apparitions, explaining that the Church has asked her not to participate in public meetings. “I cannot pray with you but I will pray for you” she tells in short message to 600 disappointed Italian faithful. http://www.medjugorjetoday.tv/news-archive-2015/
I cannot help feeling that these events indicate the inauguration of the Secrets. Possibly within weeks
Lets remind ourselves we don't really know for sure if it is Our lady. "Critics" will still be allowed to disbelieve even if the Church pronounces Medjugorje worthy of believe, just as we may do wrt Fatima and Lourdes as I understand things. I think Jesus and Mary would understand if people, in good conscience, denied their apparitions even if true.
And remind that "critics" who believe Medjugorje against the declaration of the bishops of Bosnia have had their right to do so. Blue Horizon was right: our Lord and Lady understand us. No matter what our believe is. I am sure the truth will conquer.
I think that the Third Secret, the permanent sign, will happen on Holy Thursday, April 13, 2017. On Holy Thursday, April 13, 1995, my wife and I saw the most beautiful celestial sight. We were exiting St. James Church in Medjugorje around midnight and saw others looking up into the sky. The full moon was surrounded by a golden halo and both were surrounded by a rainbow!!!
I completely agree BH. Criticism and discernment are good things and are very important. What I am referring more to is people who try to subvert and undermine Medjugorje with lies and disinformation, and that is different from criticism. Those are the people who will have a lot of answering to do, in my opinion.
Padraig, why do you link these events with the coming of the signs? My first thought was that local authorities were tightening things up in anticipation of the announcement of a decision on Medjugorje (covering their bases).
Perhaps you are right, but look at it like this. Suppose they are planning to say that the apparitiions are right. Then why would they close down the visionaries appearances? On the other hand if the judgement is critical it would seem to me to be a good damage limitation process to tie things down now. My own feeling is that the judgement coming is going to be negative and this is what is going to trigger the secrets. But that is pure guessing on my part, I would not argue with anyone about it. It's bit like reading tea leaves guessing at the moment. But I think generally the Signs are very negative right from the top down. I am just curious does anyone think a positive decision is coming?
Sigh , the whole things makes me deeply sad, really. It is as though Mary came knocking at the front door and she got a slap in the face for her trouble... People appear often to claim it does not metter whether or not these apparitions are recognised or not. But I think it very, very, very much does matter..
I so agree with you padraig. Yesterday during this reading at Mass I had the exact same comparison come strongly to mind that is given here at the link offered today from Spirit Daily re: this interference: TODAY...July 12, 2015 • <i>First reading for Fifteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, said to Amos, “Go away, seer; get back to the land of Judah; earn your bread there, do your prophesying there. We want no more prophesying in Bethel; this is the royal sanctuary, the national temple.” “I was no prophet, neither did I belong to any of the brotherhoods of prophets”, Amos replied to Amazia. “I was a shepherd, and looked after sycamores: but it was the Lord who took me from herding the flock, and the Lord who said, “Go prophesy to my people Israel.”Amos 7 : 12-15 TWO DAYS AGO...Friday, July 10, 2015 Marija Pavlovic Lunetti, addressing the prayer gathering at Cittadella in Padua. (Il Mattino di Padova) “The curia of Padua has warned the organisers not to let me pray with you. I decided to meet you anyway. I'm not one who hallucinates, I am a quiet person. I will not disobey the Church, but I think that prayer does not hurt. My journey continues, I return to Medjugorje. I cannot pray with you, I cannot bear my testimony, but no one can stop me from praying in my heart.” • As a child, Marija Pavlovic tended sheep and looked after tobacco plants.</i> http://crownofstars.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/when-seers-are-sent-packing.html And this after the other recent interferences by persons who have admitted that they, after all this time of months since being given the dossier (the CDF), have not even as yet examined the “well done” (as Pope Francis has remarked after he, with all of his many chores, already read and discerned it to be) report of the Commission’s many years of hard work. The Church looks pretty schizophrenic and rather abusive towards those who may be too sick or too poor to make the trip to Medjugorje itself. Those people now get punished by being prevented from hearing even a small amount of what they would be exposed to if they could get to the actual site. Totally inconsistent "policy". There is a protocol today within the hierarchy designed to nibble away at papal authority. We seem to have a lot of “little popes”, self declared these days.
I also agree that it does matter and I think that to say Our Lord and Our Lady "would understand" if we don't believe heaven's messages is kind of missing the whole point, because the apparitions and messages are not for Our Lord and Our Lady's own sake, they are for us. We are the ones who need to hear them. If we reject the messages then we also reject the graces that they are meant to bring us. To discern wrongly on this is a big deal after all the graces that have been given, IMO.
Wow, padraig, sorry about the number of same comment above. It's just that when I pasted what I had copied it did not show up until after I pasted one from another site that DID show after immediately pasting. If you could eliminate the duplicates that would be great. Thanks.
I am just curious does anyone think a positive decision is coming?[/quote I am praying that the heart and head of Pope Francis is not shut completely so that after the Warning, he will say, "Mea culpa!"
I do not expect a positive decision. The whole world is upside down at the moment, so why would this ruling be right-side up? It will follow the path of other great visits from our lady and Jesus that were initially rejected by the church, such as St Faustina. If our lady's messages from the 25th or 2nd are shut down (it is not clear that that is the case, with this restriction it just seems to be public testimony from this seer), then I would expect the secrets to start very soon. The world needs conversion and the game-plan to achieve successful conversion in a very big and urgent way. Medjugorje is the path for awakening and conversion for so many people today and over 30 years. If this path becomes closed, it just progresses to the next stage...the secrets. Our lady and our Lord will not be "shut up" in Medjugorje for too long, IMHO.
I think since it's still ongoing there will be some type of neutral decision for the time being. Pope Francis has already made comments about the Commission's work of many years as being well done. Any negativity being advertised these days comes out from the head of the CDF who hasn't seemed to have much respect for what the Pope has been expecting from that congregation. Instead he seems to keep delaying their own study of the Commission's report for his own agenda. There have already been reports of placing some type of "governor" over the site itself to at least make a more formal connection to the Vatican. I have read that Muller of the CDF does not want any international recognition as a shrine, but if that has to be to make it a smaller local recognition. One can see the "parallel" Church in the workings. Perhaps the Synod will separate such goats from the sheep with great exposure of just who stays with the Pope and his authority and who wish to fulfill their goals of becoming other "popes"!
