So after much anticipation the much awaited Encyclical has arrived and gone? How come no one has posted any important issues raised in the Encyclical on this forum? Doesnt anyone care about sustainability here? How can a forum dedicated to the Mother of God be so uncaring to Mother Earth. I haven't gone through the encyclical with a magnifying glass, but I haven't found anything that jumps out and says "heresy". So much of it I've read before in different guises by different pontiffs. I reached my limit when a conservative talk show host called His Holiness "a Marxist" because (he claimed) the Pope was expressing concern for the poor and saying we had to give more to the government to help them. Ah, the "guilty until proven innocent" opening ... even for a Pope? I am almost too scared to ask why you mention, of all things, sodomy in connection with the Pope's Encyclical .
It boggles my mind how some have misinterpreted our Pope Francis' words and meaning. It's like the Tower of Babel all over again.
You must have read the Encyclical BH? Any massive changes in your life needed? Recycling ? planting a tree maybe?
The pope is bideing His time, drawing in the periferies, speaking in ways that will encourage nonbelievers that is all those who are searching in all the wrong places. Like young adults that know something is wrong but can't put their finger on it, as they have never been taught but they follow what they believe is a good thing, like saving the earth. Now the Holy Father will touch them and that will prick their interest and they'll want to know more. And so listen to His next words. God works in mysterious ways. He loves all those greenies out there. And for some the earth is all they have at the moment. Blessed Mary, cover us all in your mantle
My statement was directed at all those who HAVE been looking for heresy from this Pope, and who have been hinting that this encyclical is simply a first step down that slippery slope towards showing this Pope is a false Pope, blah blah blah.
