Funny Padraig, I remember discovering Garabandal in the late 1980s and thinking the warning might not be too far away. If someone had told me then that we would still be waiting for the warning by 2015 I would have been surprised. But our God is a patient God!
Thanks very much for signalling this source, which I hadn't heard of, but which seems to have serious references (not only René Laurentin, but also neurologist Philippe Loron with whose work I am familiar e.g. in connection with Myrna Nazzour). Just reading a few messages on the website and the summary which the two visionaries sent to R. Laurentin, the prophetic content seems largely coherent with the 'prophetic consensus'. I'm very cautious about dates, but not surprised by the 2030-2035 timeframe as a point by which the world ought to be on the other side of the present 'birth pains'. Not only have I seen 2032 mentioned to Valentina Papagna, but an American non-Catholic prophetic voice whom I take very seriously (Terry Bennett, whose alleged visitations are like those of Charlie Johnston in coming from the Angel Gabriel) has had detailed visions through to around the 2028 region. The usual caveats here: there may be and probably will be a lot of surprises between now and then, and even a tentative timeline could still shift considerably in the event of human repentance. It nonetheless seems to me that the whole transformational cycle into which we are entering is going to take quite a while: I absolutely take note of Charlie J.'s notion of a late 2017 rescue, but my sense is that, whatever it is, it will be a significant and joyous staging-point along the way (like the Garabandal Warning and Miracle), not the end of the longer process which Scripture would seem to imply. Just my opinion, nothing more (please repeat that several times!)
There surely is the belief that there is two tribulation periods, interupted by a brief era of peace before man becomes worse than before. La Sallette is the first marian prophecy to speak of a short lived 25 year time of peace. Others forsee the second period as the time of the Great Catholic Monarch and the Angelic Shephard doing battle to reestablish the Church throughout the world. I think it would be safe to say the Age of Mary may well conclude in 2017, but time will tell.
I wasn't aware of Valentina Papagna until I read this thread. Reading through some of her messages for all mankind has left me feeling a bit forlorn. I receive Communion in my hand, I wear short sleeves in the summer- not good. Re. after JPII "the seat of St. Peter will change for the worse. Many things will change in your doctrines within the church." ...we have our problems but have we had even one change in doctrine? There is always the risk for me of remaining comfortable in my sin, but from the few messages I read here I get the sense that all is hopelessly lost for me and my kind. The 2004 tsunami is predicted but in some ways I wonder if like MDM, the correct info could be coming from the wrong side?
A sample from Mark Mallett's latest blog: http://www.markmallett.com/blog/returning-to-our-center/#more-17838 STERILIZING THE WORD OF GOD I spoke recently with a man who is training for the diaconate. He has a solid faith, a healthy zeal, and a heart for Christ. “But as I study the systematic theology being presented to our class,” he said “something strange is happening. I’m finding that it is leaving an emptiness in my heart as Christ becomes more a thing of the head.” The reason, he went on to explain, is that the liberal theological method being used approaches Christ and the Bible as mere historical objects to be critiqued, rather than living mysteries to be better understood. As he shared his experience with me, it confirmed what I have heard from priests for many years from several countries. My friend, Fr. Kyle Dave of Louisiana, spent several weeks with me in Canada after hurricane Katrina ravaged his parish. During that time, we prayed and read the Scriptures together. I’ll never forget how one day he suddenly blurted out, “My God, these Scriptures are living! It is the living Word of God. In seminary, we were taught to approach the Scriptures like they were laboratory specimens to be dissected and mutilated!” Indeed, another young priest from South America told me how he and his friends had a hunger to become saints. They decided to become priests to answer the thirst in their souls. He decided to take his theological training at a John Paul II institute while his friends went to Rome to study at St. Thomas Aquinas University. He recounted how, after his friends graduated, “some of them no longer even believed in God.” That was a Vatican university.
Mark's latest blog reminded me of when I first came back to loving the Catholic faith. I was teaching Catechism to 9th graders, 25-30 years ago, in Iowa City. The head priest for vocations for the diocese of Davenport, Iowa came to speak to all the high school kids. When he was done he allowed for Q&A. I was young and excited about my newly found faith since learning about Fatima and reading the life of the saints so I asked him a question. 1) Question: did reading the life of the saints inspire you in any way to the priesthood? Answer: That's a good question, I don't think I ever really thought about that. 2) Question, from a student: Father, why do priests wear the white collar? Answer: while answering the students question he was removing his collar and putting it in his pocket said, "we don't have to wear it, its just something we do sometimes". Mark's blog reminded me of this, as so few come to know our faith in a child like manner. It is so rationalized today to a point where we don't see it in its essense, but more like a stiff book.
Last night my wife told me her dad appeared in a dream the night before. He has been dead about 8 years and died at 77 years. She said he appear much younger, perhaps 40ish and told her that we, meaning mainly our family (personal warning?) would enter real struggles starting Jan. 2016. (obviously Canada and world also which has already begun) He told her soon we would be unable to go to church since no mass would be held. Her take was IS or threats to Catholic churches would prevent mass being held. We discussed other possiblilities like the synod coming in Oct. and possibly a demand on churches to perform same sex marriages or the like could trigger the persecution. We've been blessed here in Canada with good jobs and a great family, a church with a holy priest. In many ways deep down she won't let herself believe the warnings I've told her, it scares her too much. We've talked of financial collapse many times but the church thing we never have so I was quite surprised this came from her dream. She doesn't read or investigate these things at all and never talks this way. I believe her dad is warning us to prepare this year. Grow more spiritually and learn how to trust more. I admit we've never been truly tested. With 1 young adult in first year university and the second going in Sept. our incomes are vital to getting them through school. Scary to think that could all disappear. I certainly don't talk that way since we have to stay hopeful and plan as we have always. Not going to pump fear into my kids.
MMM, thanks for sharing this. IMHO, staying hopefull should not be in our wordly plans, but in the plans of heaven. We need to hear what heaven is saying and make this very clear to our loved ones, starting with our spouse and children, lest we be found guilty in the sight of God for not being the "Watchmen" of our times and loved ones. I have children in college as well, but they well know of the moment of the great tribulation and when it hits home they will be ready to head home with a few packed bags. Everyone needs to have an 'exit' plan for the day the world changes forever. I keep reminded of Ralph Martin's Prophecy at Rome, where our Lord made real clear that everything we now have will be taken from us and then we will have everything we need https://www.renewalministries.net/files/freeliterature/Prophecies_Pentecost_Monday.pdf This is what our family and loved ones need to understand at this critical moment.
Thanks for this Fatima. It is a balance isn't it. I have and do talk with them about what is happening and what very well could and may happen. But this isn't as often as encouraging them in their dreams and hopes for the future. We pray everyday for them and all. The main thing we ask is that God will bring them home safely once things get bad so we can endure together. I don't want to instil fear or a "what's the point" attitude when it could be years away. Even all the prophecies we talk about from all these reliable sources could have the timing way off. But I think it's soon, very soon so I will take your advise and really convey the realisitic possibility of it all. If my son had more faith it would be easier.... thanks again.
MMM, I didn't know you're from Canada. There is a Catholic community in Ontario called Madonna House which was founded by Catherine Doherty a number of years ago. She saw a time of great need when the community would support Catholic refugees. Are you familiar with them? Safe in the Barque of Peter!
When I left prison I used to walk about praying the rosary one night. I remember one beautiful summers evening walking up to mass , praying and thinking and suddenly I became that the Holy Spirit had been actively answering some questions I had and that i was witnessing the active coming down of the Gift of the Holy Spirit called Infused Wisdom. I believe any Catholic practicing prayer to any degree for a while experiences Infused Wisdom, for we have Christ's promises for it. Just as a father cannot give life to children unless he himself has life so those who do not have Wisdom cannot pass it on to others. Those who do not pray have not Wisdom because they are spiritually dead. This is why seminarians in such situations often find darkness; because those who teach them are in darkness. I remember vividly a priest charged to teach me Moral Theology was later charged and imprisoned for child abuse, moreover the one who gave him the class knew of his abuse. The Holy Spirit naturally flees from such situations.
