If my brother in Christ says he is walking away from the Pope, you better believe I am going to say don't go to communion Mac. PROVE to me that Pope Francis is not the true Pope Mac. Without quoting some Sede Vac paper. Even you should see the media is twisting the Pope's language and his phrases. I just posted Cardinal Chaput's scathing explanation of the media twisting everything. You made up your mind before the guy even became pope. I'll stick with our Lady and her messages which I have been studying since 1982. I'll stick with the Pope--BECAUSE, as I said before; if I am wrong then I will be following Christ. If I am right; then I will be following Christ. Either way, I will have been obedient!
I'm going to bed. Good nite brothers and sisters in Christ. May the Angels protect you and help you keep the faith!
We are entering a very difficult period of confusion. There has been a rapid deterioration in Catholic unity in the last 60 years. We need to remember that we are in a spiritual war and the enemy is strong;. He has his minions inside the Church ( a masonic influence) and they are sowing confusion amongst the faithful. Remember the first synod document promulgated by the minority - a betrayal - yet the final document was fine. That the first document was published at all tells us that the Church is in big trouble and confusion will reign. Things are only going to get worse and many will be led astray. Families will be divided. This forum will be divided. Some will go one way, change their mind (it will be worse than the protestant reformation). But there will always be a remnant faithful. Stay close to Mary. Pray the Rosary Fast and Pray. Believe Christ. 'And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it'.
Yeah great, but messages with full church approval should only be mentioned here. After all we are warned about false prophets , so .. Now the Spirit manifestly saith, that in the last times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to spirits of error, and doctrines of devils, Speaking lies in hypocrisy, and having their conscience seared...." 1 Tim 4:1-2 For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables. 2 Tim 4:3-4 So show us how a Pope cannot go astray? Remember Pope Francis wont judge someone who is seeking Christ , yet you will. The synod is trying to find a way to give communion to those in mortal sin. Yet you judge Brian not worthy. He does not reject the Pope . He said he will continue to pray for the Pope. But will not follow this Pope [or any pope] into error. Which should be everyones attitude.
I think as Bobby says we all need to remain calm and level headed and above all charitable with each other. These are not really new things , I believe for instance we can see echoes of them right through the Acts of the Apostles. Of course after the Apostolic period there seems to have been periods of all out war. So nothing is new under the sun , as the wise old sage says. I remember once reading a description of Constantinople and it stated that everyone in the entire city from the highest Lord to the traders in the market place to the beggars in the street used to spend their entire days arguing theology with each other. It was their chief and most important pass time (apart from the chariot races which drove them crazy). I thought it was cute they had such an interest in theology but terrible that it led to such gross factionalism. The fact that someone disagrees with us on certain issues does not make them bad people. As Bobby says we need to stay calm and loving and listening. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East–West_Schism
Yeah, that post was shocking in its hubris but a perfect illustration of points I made earlier in this thread.
Brian by your threads...you are causing schism. Our Holy Father has not broken His vows as Pastor or as Pope. You might think he is or might lead us away from Gods truths. But as of today, Papa Francis has been faithful to the Papacy. By stating " I will continue to pray for the Holy Father. But I will not blindly follow him into error." You are bringing mistrust and discord to our Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. You are insinuating that He is heading in wrong direction. In a sense, mother superior is correct, by having doubt in Our Holy Father...you are doubting the Catholic Church as the true Body of Christ. All superstar staints have had one thing in common. Blind obedience to Our Catholic Church. That means having the humility to live under obedience to Gods shepherds. May Gods Will be Done
Well, Brian, if this forum is a temptation to anger within yourself and then to upset others who don't look at things or persons in the same way then perhaps it is best for you leave it and reflect in the ways you feel your conscience leads you. In our recent history many have suffered great disappointment and even disillusionment in their faith after being too close to a personality cult rather than nurturing a greater charity for all in the Body of Christ. And "pray for the conversion of the Pope"?...now that's real chutzpah accompanied by arrogance!
Stay, we need you as well, I am of course with you. PS : My regards to Mac, Garabandal my brother and the Boss of course. Aviso
Just like obedience is the key to our own spiritual life, obedience to the church is the key to endure in this confusing and mysterious times, we are nothing outside the church, we cannot even trust in our own discerments, we are not gods. I am not, He is! And he has said very clearly "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hell shall not overpower it."
Since Jesus said to Peter - "I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. 19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven." So Jesus gives the pope the keys to heaven and trusts him with them and tells him and all of us the gates of hell will not overpower His Church yet some are claiming to not trust the pope which Jesus Himself is trusting fully? If the Pope has errored in matters of faith and morals please point it out someone to me. I don't see it nor have I heard it. How the pope can not go astray is clearly in the bible. (faith and morals only) How can one say they trust in Jesus if they don't trust in the words and commands of Jesus about his pope and church? Not accusing anyone of anything just trying to understand. I am finding Pope Francis one of the great popes thus far and a terrific leader. He doesn't first draw a line in the sand then tell people not to cross it, he invites open discussion, welcoming signs of love to engage people first. You can't win over people by first calling them wrong. You engage, you listen and when a loving person really listens those talking will be more willing to listen in return. I see something close to Christ in this pope so far and personally am staying 100% with him. Jesus asked us to so following Christ is following HIS pope whom he gave us to lead us and feed us. This is everything I need to believe and trust.
For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine The operative word there is "sound".....not a hack job of "doctrine" co-opted by the neo-pharisees that conveniently leaves out the component of the greatest commandment.....love. And today it seems that main component can't be "endured" by too many.
Yes, the pews haven't emptied out, especially by the young, because the former approach of the status quo was so compelling for the day and age. And it's pretty brash to insinuate that such a Conclave of Spirit filled Princes of the Church (as admitted by them of their experience of the Spirit moving them to just the right man for this moment of time in the Church) wasn't somehow legitimate....according their personal whims.
I will say this simple words out sincere love to my brothers and sisters. I really feel like some are hanging on the edge and God full of love for you is desperate trying to find helping hands that will come to your rescue. Open your heart to the love of God, he will cleanse you, he will bless you. Now, say your father has gone astray, has fallen into vices ,what would you do? Would you run away from him, no longer wanted to be part of his family, or would you stay and pray for him, remain with him and your family? I am not saying this because I believe that Pope Francis has gone astray, no he's indeed a holy pope, a saint in the making as all of us are. Peter was not perfect either, Jesus knows this that is why he shed his blood for us. This same blood is keeping our church alive, this blood is in our veins because of the eucharist, don't cut it out, we need you, we are one body and the body can not function well without a hand or an arm, we are all necessary for the last battle. The great apostasy was prophesied many years ago, don't be part of it, don't let the spirit of pride win over you, remember division is from the devil, he has claimed many souls for causing division and for disobedience.
It seems that when it comes to Pope Francis people are unfortunately falling into the trap that the media have set. If people actually read what he says or has written about you will find that in no way has he changed anything in the teachings or doctrine of the Church. There are so many dissenting voices at the moment it is hard not to become confused. There is nothing more that the devil enjoys than causing confusion and dissent.
Yes,the great apostasy was prophesied many years ago. And we have been told where it will start from. From the top! Not near the top or close to the top. From the top.
I was at mass this evening and there I got a feeling that a form of purgation has occurred within the Church in terms of some of the hierarchy who have been quick on the letter of the law but not on the spirit of the law and who seem to enjoy wielding authority etc. I definitely had the feeling of belonging to a more humble Church that is close to the people and ready for the times ahead. I have the feeling that it is best to trust our Pope and that he is creating a Church that is "dirty" and close to the people, as he said before.
The Pope isn't at the top. He's the Rock the Church is built on. We have hit the iceberg. People in spiritual danger need to know the two great commandments. We don't have time to persuade them of the wisdom of the catechism. They urgently need to know they are loved, even in their sin - just like every one of us. Every single one of us must beg for mercy. Justice will condemn every single one of us. I am only brave enough to ask for mercy if I know I am loved. If I assume I am condemned already how do I respond? Personally speaking, I feel a great urging to manifest God's love to people in 'irregular' situations. The people I know in these situations rarely know they are loved by anyone, let alone God. Let no one be condemned because of my failure to let them know unconditional love. If we have time they may be persuaded to conversion, but I don't think we have time for persuasion. Only love.
