Please pray for my brother, who died very unexpectedly tonight. I am just back from the hospital. He has battled very bad health most of his adult life, but had been doing very well for the past few years. But last week his leg started to hurt and it swelled up today. He had some tests on Friday and more were scheduled for Monday. We think he had a blood clot, but are not sure. His wife was out to dinner with friends as he did not feel well and insisted she go. He ended up calling an ambulance and they found him unresponsive. It all happend so fast and he was just 44. Please pray for him, his awesome wife of 18 years, and my mom, who just buried her husband 14 months ago. It is all very shocking. Although he was an atheist, I am not distressed about his soul. A crack was opened after my dad died. He recognized when things suddenly fell into place out of the blue for us (my mom selling her house so fast, us finding a great apartment, my sister getting married, etc.) and he said to mom "I think dad is pulling strings somewhere", which I believe is all God needs. I have been praying tons for him, as has my mom. Amazingly just this afternoon I stopped by my Dad's grave and asked Jesus to let him intercede for my brother, to let him know God is real and how much God loves him. Then I went to a local college football game, got home, and and 15 minutes later my sister arrived with the news he had died. I think this is an example of God taking someone before the events start in order to save their soul which might have been lost if he lived during the events. That is how I really feel. But of course, I would never presume anything, so please say a prayer for the repose of his soul. Thank you!
I am so sorry Cathy. I am going to Sunday Mass shortly, what is his name so I can pray for him? God gives such very powerful graces around the time of death I am sure you are reading the signs correctly. When my brother Colm died he was 26 and as complete an theist as you could ever meet, yet I saw him very happy the next day after he died. God desires only our salvation. It is a huge cross for you and your family, praying for you all.
Praying now. No prayer is ever wasted. A prayer you offer for another helps them. I believe your prayers for your Brother PS will not be forgotton by God and he will greet your brother kindly.
It is done. I'm sorry for you loss. God's graces are amazing! May you brother be safe in the arms of Mary and Jesus.
What a shock for you and your family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I will keep your brother and your family in my prayers.
Your brother and family are on my beads. (I'm wiping away tears of gratitude for the precious comfort the Lord is giving you regarding your brother's soul. I heard in prayer that the peace and accurate discernment you have about him is a special favor because of your deep friendship with the Lord.)
Just saw this - Cathy you have been an inspiration to me. i'm so sorry to hear of your loss and will pray for your brother - and the rest of your family. God bless xx
Very sorry for your loss, Potato, I will pray for your intentions. I feel like I am in mourning myself.
I only just read your message now. I feel the pain you are going through Potatosack. This is very very hard. I have no words for it. May Jesus and Mary cover you, your mother, your sister in law and your entire family with their intensive Love, Protection and Force. I will pray for you all this evening. And if I may give you some advice: when I lost my fiance by sudden death, three things made me not fall into despair: 1. In a chapel I offered to Jesus all my sufferings of the past and present so my friend would be safe with Him. I received an answer to that prayer: "Your supplication has been heard". 1. I went to Medjugorje where I was greatly comforted (but I also saw Jesus on the Cross in the sky - I have a picture of it, but I only discovered it when I came home). 2. I went to Holy Mass as often as possible (I sat in the front to be as nearest to the Eucharist, which I never did before, I always sat more behind. I did this now because I needed very much to be united with the Eucharist. I felt that there I would not be distracted by the people in front of me and be the most united with my friend) 3. I went often to Adoration (also in the front), again for the same reason, but also to receive healing and comfort from Jesus because of the terrible shock. In fact, it is in the Holy Eucharist that you will find the closest your brother and, yes, I received signs from my friend immediately after his death and also later. God allows this to comfort you. Always do masses for him, as soon as possible (I did 30 Gregorian masses for him and more although I knew he was a big believer and had a great heart for everyone) and pray for him on regularly basis the Rosary of Divine Mercy. This Rosary has an enormous Power on the Heart of Jesus especially for the souls that passed away. Doing that, you will have done everything for your brother, and he will eternally be grateful to you, and if he does not need this, the benefits will be given to other souls, as you probably know (and to yourself and/or family). God bless you.
you are in my prayers Potatosack. An unexpected death is unimaginable. Your brother is just fine. He will always be in my prayers and everyone on this forum.
