New paradigms of divorce and homosexuality are now at home in the highest levels of the Church. Nothing has been decided, but Pope Francis is patient. An American historian confutes the ideas of “La Civiltà Cattolica”

Yes, Terry such good advise. I always remember Padre Pio who said, 'Pray trust and don't worry' .

But sometimes I feel like someone standing in a huge storm with great winds and trying hard not to get blown off my feet.

I must get to confession today.

My own prayerful belief from prophesy is that God will call the Holy Father home shortly and that the great danger will come in the interim period before the new election. When there no one at the helm ,so to speak.

But whatever happens we have Jesus and Mary to lead and guide us.

was it stated in the previous thread that whatever might happen on the 26th would be a US event?

trust God and pray harder..there is nothing impossible with him, if we all million or billion of people praying to him and asking his forgiveness we can all appease his anger
he hears our prayers and God love us all

lets pray harder and trust in God, he hears us and he loves us

OFFERING OF THE HOLY FACE TO APPEASE GOD'S JUSTICE AND DRAW DOWN MERCY UPON US

ETERNAL Father, turn away Thine angry gaze from all guilty people whose faces have become unsightly in Thy eyes. Look instead upon the face of Thy Beloved Son, for this is the Face of Him in Whom Thou art well pleased. We now offer Thee this Holy face, covered with shame and disfigured by bloody bruises, in reparation for the crimes of our age, in order to appease Thee anger, justly provoked against us. Because Thy Divine Son, our Redeemer, has taken upon His head all the sins of His people that they might be spared, we now beg of tTee, Eternal Father, to grant us mercy. Amen.

I feel that the forum was offline so as we would pray more for the church. God is in charge so keep praying and keep calm. there is so much gossip going around at the moment about who is for and who is against. pray and read scripture to keep your calm. Padre pio suffered much misunderstanding from church leadership but he still stood his ground in humility and saved many many sinners..

It occurs to me that the lady who wrote to me concerning the 26th might feel called on by God to write a little on this herself, if she feels God calling her to do so. From the horse's mouth so to speak.:)

If not; well that's fine too. You certainly don't have to.

    As God wishes.

I agree. We have to keep front and center in our mind this truth: We have a very big God, He is on his throne, and He is in control.

The other night I met the dearest old caregiver. The patient was frightened and I said, "Let's pray that the Lord will bless the medicine I just gave you, and provide you with a peaceful sleep and a fresh new day tomorrow." this set the caregiver off on a frenzy of spontaneous prayer, "Thank you Jesus, yes, Jesus,..." We left the patient's room together and I said to her,"Oh, isn't God so good?" She stopped, put her hand on her hip and told me sternly, "Chicken is good. Our God is AWESOME!"

I'm not sure of any significance to the date of Oct. 26th, but I looked ahead to the universal readings and I think they are powerful messages

    First Reading

If ever you wrong them and they cry out to me,
I will surely hear their cry.
    My wrath will flare up, and I will kill you with the sword;
then your own wives will be widows, and your children orphans.

    Response

R/ (2) I love you, Lord, my strength.
I love you, O LORD, my strength,
O LORD, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer.
R/ I love you, Lord, my strength.
My God, my rock of refuge,
my shield, the horn of my salvation, my stronghold!
Praised be the LORD, I exclaim,
and I am safe from my enemies.
R/ I love you, Lord, my strength.
The LORD lives and blessed be my rock!
    Extolled be God my savior.
You who gave great victories to your king
and showed kindness to your anointed.
R/ I love you, Lord, my strength.

    Gospel

"Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?"
    He said to him,
"You shall love the Lord, your God,
    with all your heart,
    with all your soul,
    and with all your mind.
This is the greatest and the first commandment.
    The second is like it:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments."

Apparently the date was the twenty fifth not the 26th as mentioned.

Given the appalling things going on in the Church I am more inclined to believe this than ever and the lady in question comes from Wisconsin , not Virginia.

    Oh great...

I'm going to be at a conference four hours drive from home, and my oldest son is flying home that day from a week long retreat at Clear Creek Monastery in Oklahoma.

All in God's Hands, right? I just can't worry I guess.

  18. Whoa! What wonderful readings!!

saturday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time
    Lectionary: 478

    EPH 4:7-16[/paste:font]
    Brothers and sisters:
Grace was given to each of us
according to the measure of Christ’s gift.
    Therefore, it says:

    He ascended on high and took prisoners captive;
    he gave gifts to men.

What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended
into the lower regions of the earth?
The one who descended is also the one who ascended
    far above all the heavens,
that he might fill all things.

And he gave some as Apostles, others as prophets,
others as evangelists, others as pastors and teachers,
to equip the holy ones for the work of ministry,
for building up the Body of Christ,
until we all attain to the unity of faith
and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood
to the extent of the full stature of Christ,
so that we may no longer be infants,
tossed by waves and swept along by every wind of teaching
    arising from human trickery,
from their cunning in the interests of deceitful scheming.
Rather, living the truth in love,
we should grow in every way into him who is the head, Christ,
    from whom the whole Body,
joined and held together by every supporting ligament,
with the proper functioning of each part,
brings about the Body’s growth and builds itself up in love.

    Gospel LK 13:1-9
Some people told Jesus about the Galileans
whose blood Pilate had mingled with the blood of their sacrifices.
He said to them in reply,
“Do you think that because these Galileans suffered in this way
they were greater sinners than all other Galileans?
    By no means!
But I tell you, if you do not repent,
you will all perish as they did!
Or those eighteen people who were killed
when the tower at Siloam fell on them–
do you think they were more guilty
than everyone else who lived in Jerusalem?
    By no means!
But I tell you, if you do not repent,
you will all perish as they did!”

And he told them this parable:
“There once was a person who had a fig tree planted in his orchard,
and when he came in search of fruit on it but found none,
    he said to the gardener,
‘For three years now I have come in search of fruit on this fig tree
    but have found none.
    So cut it down.
Why should it exhaust the soil?’
He said to him in reply,
‘Sir, leave it for this year also,
    and I shall cultivate the ground around it and fertilize it;
it may bear fruit in the future.
If not you can cut it down.’”

I will actually be at church that day, at a retreat for my daughters first confession.

  20. REMEMBER: Padraig mis-spoke---its the 25th of October he was talking about--NOT THE 26TH...
