I agree Janet and read them last month and that message and the prayers are always on my mind. So beautiful and wonderful graces to blind satan and free souls.
Greggo, pray it often. Use it in your rosary, but also just in your spare moments pray, "Holy Mary, Mother of God, spread the effect of grace of Thy Flame of Love over all of humanity now and at the hour of our death. Amen." Simple. Effective. Powerful! Thank you Mother!
Bartimaeus, I dont watch Irish news anymore as it is totally biased and you are watching propaganda. Also the Irish newspapers are a disgrace. Truth is something they dont know about. There is an onslaught against the family and family values now in Ireland. The only solution is prayer. Its important to remember that the media is not representative of the people of Ireland. I think Irish people are still very pro life but their voice is rarely heard. If you watch any of the TV discussions it is stacked by at least 4 to 1 in favour of abortion. I have started to pray the Flame of Love Hail Mary's to blind satan and his minions. Its important to keep fighting the battled which is far from over. I think people in general are shocked by the callous attitude of the abortion groups towards the 24 week old baby delivered early because mother requested an abortion. They are almost saying that the baby should be dead. I believe satan's ugly face is being unmasked. There is no physical refuge as you say but keeping prayer in the family will provide the protection of the Immaculate Heart of Mary for our families.
Mary Rose this is true in N. America too. Hollywood and the mainstream media are spewing rhetoric constantly. While many people are falling for the lies of the enemy, many, thankfully, are not. You have it right with the FoL. The more we blind the enemy, the more people's eyes will be opened. Ephphatha! Be opened! Jesus we trust in you.
Our Lord and Our Lady have made me aware of refuges and have visited several of them; they have had so many confirmations on their making that I do not doubt their compiling. Also many of those who have built a place of refuge seem to have a sort of network with a number of others. And I wonder why I have been given to see and know these things. There is no 'refuge' close to me. I do not have a sense that I will live to experience 'the Era of Peace'. I tell my children that when/if things happen that they are to come to me immediately. I have many holy items in my home; it is sometimes used for retreat as it will be in a few weeks. I do know of a place about 100 miles from me which is not built as a refuge but a farm that could serve as one. Getting there would be the difficulty. But I strongly agree that Our Lady's Immaculate Heart is to be our Refuge no matter where we are.
Magdalen, I'm in the same position in that I don't feel the Lord leading me towards any kind of refuge. When I have thought about stocking up on essentials, I feel it's not the Lord's will. I know of no refuges in the UK and am part of no network of people. I do have blessed salt and holy water in the house. My nature is to be cautious and thus instinctively to buy in canned food etc, including dog food, but for some reason I feel 'no'. I am consecrated to Our Lady however.
For several years now, I have tried to keep about 2-3 weeks worth of food, water, and dog food always in the house just in case of natural disaster. I rotate it about, and most of it is canned meats in a large box. I also keep powdered milk, plenty of flour, oil, salt, and rice and oats. I live in the city, and last winter we got down to -20F nearly every day. If a blizzard shut down our power in winter, it could mean life or death. Luckily my house has a huge wood fireplace that runs through the center of my home, so it alone can keep my house at least in the 50s when the bricks heat up. I also would like to install an arm on the fireplace so I can hang a dutch oven over it to cook. But I don't feel the need from God to do this, it just makes sense to me to be prepared with so many disasters happening in the world.
Very wise, Clare. This is a time to do only what we are inspired to do, and trust Jesus completely. The Blessed Mother can be fierce, especially when protecting her children. You are in a place of safety with her.
In the U.S. the homosexual agenda has taken over like a brushfire, due to the media. Something like 2% of the population declares themselves homosexual. I don't watch T.V. anymore, but my 83 year old mother watches it constantly. In the daytime, I don't think I've ever been there longer than 15 minutes before something is said promoting the homosexual agenda. And the American people are buying it, hook, line and sinker. I used to be a news junkie, but I don't watch that either. I do keep up with the news online, but I just had an inspiration on the way home from Mass: The enemy is raging; that is no surprise. What he is up to is none of my business. Knowing about his tactics does not increase my peace, my joy or my hope. When I did watch T.V, I was fascinated by alligator hunting shows. But all the time I did that was a waste. If I was in the alligator hunting business, it would be helpful to me, but I'm not. It's the same with demonic actions. If my calling was spiritual warfare against demonic forces, then it would be my responsibility to keep up with the enemy's strategies. I am just a little child of Mary. My job is to give her everything, and as many rosaries each day as I can muster, and let her do the battle. Consuming the propaganda of the enemy's losing side increases the likelihood of falling into despair. That's what he wants, and he's not getting it from me, please God!
Much food for thought here Kathy. My husband and I tune into the news every evening and leave it on for about an hour or so....It's pretty depressing and I feel powerless over the state of the world. I agree, we must pray the rosary and receive the Eucharist and go to confession with great frequency to gird our loins! I do love your last line....It's really the truth!
My gut feeling is to have most every contingency one belives is necessary for the dark days ahead in place within the next month. It will be to late very soon to purchase what you can now. Food and goods will surely sky rocket at the first sign of inflation, civil unrest, war, economic issues etc..., all of which are crossing the threshold as we speak. Don't say: should of, could of, would of when it is to late. Your prayer life is first, but you must also take concern for your physical needs too. 2-3 weeks or 2-3 months is a contingency for a category 2 hurricane. We will be dealing with a category 10 tsumani soon enough.
Janet, You might convince me of this! Interiorly, I'm resistant to adding still another devotion! And as a deacon candidate, I will soon take a vow to add the Liturgy of Hours to my prayer commitments. But adding this simple, effective, and powerful arrow prayer makes beautiful sense to me. You win! Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!
Mario, as a professed member of the Brothers and Sisters of Penance of St. Francis, I pray the 7 canonical hours too. It took me 4 years to be convinced that adding that prayer to my rosary was a good idea. Mostly I was put off by the time it would add to the rosary. But it really only adds about 5 minutes. The evil one will try to dissuade us with all manner of objections. I'm just sorry it took me 4 years to figure that out!
Kathy, That is quite a quote! I seriously have been thinking on this long and hard. If the Holy Spirit has given you the gift of understanding, the gift of discernment of spirits and the gift of prophesy, then what is it for if not for spiritual warfare? This is a serious question. Three very respected priests have told me I have these gifts. Falling into despair is not one of my problems, getting side-tracked is. Which I do. But everyone does. That is a fact. When I have visions of houses floating by on rushing water, I pray very hard for mitigation and for souls in trouble. Then when I see it on TV the exact event--weeks, months or a year later--I know #1-it was a true vision, #2-that our Lord & Lady used my prayers for whatever they deemed fit. #3-That I was obedient. If I had not been watching the news that day sitting on the side of my bed putting my socks on, then I would not have seen the event unfold before my eyes. I don't watch TV much at all, maybe 1 hr. every two weeks! But, between headlines, the internet, the paper and TV, and other souls put into my life, Its a pretty big picture our Lord has shown me of events coming. All in all, I pray, I battle, I offer all, I unite and I don't despair. I hope this makes sense. Your statement makes very good sense! Great wisdom there!
For those who do not know what the 7 canonical hours are: http://www.fisheaters.com/hours.html ``Where the Bishop is, there let the multitude of believers be; even as where Jesus is, there is the Catholic Church'' Ignatius of Antioch, 1st c. A.D The Canonical Hours The Jews, Greeks, and Romans divided the hours between sunrise and sunset into 12 parts, and the Jews devoted certain of those intervals to prayer Psalms 54:17 Evening and morning, and at noon I will speak and declare: and he shall hear my voice. Psalm 119:164 Seven times a day I have given praise to thee, for the judgments of thy justice. Daniel 6:10 Now, when Daniel knew this, that is to say, that the law was made, he went into his house: and opening the windows in his upper chamber towards Jerusalem, he knelt down three times a day, and adored and gave thanks before his God, as he had been accustomed to do before. Daniel 9:21 As I was yet speaking in prayer, behold the man, Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, flying swiftly, touched me at the time of the evening sacrifice. This Old Testament practice was carried on by the Apostles: Acts 3:1 Now Peter and John went up into the temple at the ninth hour of prayer. Acts 10: 3 This man saw in a vision manifestly, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in unto him and saying to him: Cornelius. Acts 10:9 And on the next day, whilst they were going on their journey and drawing nigh to the city, Peter went up to the higher parts of the house to pray, about the sixth hour. Acts 10:30 And Cornelius said: Four days ago, unto this hour, I was praying in my house, at the ninth hour and behold a man stood before me in white apparel and said: Acts 16:25 And at midnight, Paul and Silas, praying, praised God. And they that were in prison heard them. .. and were carried on by the earliest Christians. These Old Testament time divisions developed into the Church's "canonical hours" or "offices" at which prayers (psalms, canticles, antiphons, responsories, etc.), known, together with the Holy Mass, as "The Divine Office" (Officium Divinum), the "Liturgical Office," "The Liturgy of the Hours," or "The Breviary" are said (the latter term also applying to the books which contain the prayers). St. Benedict (A.D. 480-543) writes of the canonical hours in the Rule he wrote for his religious Order: As the Prophet saith: "Seven times a day I have given praise to Thee," this sacred sevenfold number will be fulfilled by us in this wise if we perform the duties of our service at the time of Lauds, Prime, Tierce, Sext, None, Vespers, and Complin; because it was of these day hours that he hath said: "Seven times a day I have given praise to Thee." For the same Prophet saith of the night watches: "At midnight I arose to confess to Thee." At these times, therefore, let us offer praise to our Creator "for the judgments of His justice;" namely, at Lauds, Prime, Tierce, Sext, None, Vespers, and Complin; and let us rise at night to praise Him. These prayers of the Divine Office are most often said by religious and clergy (in fact, they are obligated), but because they are liturgical in nature, i.e., they are "the work of the people," they should be offered publicly in churches (especially Matins and Vespers). When they are celebrated publicly, there are established norms for postures and such, but these prayers are often said, also, by lay individuals and families, some saying only certain offices as they are comfortable with, have the time for, and as it feeds their souls (usually Matins, Lauds, and Vespers). The canonical offices are below. I include the Novus Ordo version for informational purposes: Time of Day Names of Canonical Hours used by Traditional Orders Names of the Canonical Hours used by Novus Ordo This office originally consisted of four "watches," or "vigils": 6PM-9PM, 9PM-Midnight, Midnight-3 AM, and 3 AM-6 AM. Later it consisted of three "nocturnes," 9-Midnight, Midnight-3 AM, 3 AM-6 AM. Vigils Originally this office was known as "Vigils" or the "Night Office," but because the next office, Matins, ended up being the closing part of Vigils, often they both began to be called "Matins." Some traditional Orders still keep Vigils separately. Some of the stricter religious Novus Ordo orders (especially the contemplative ones) might still keep Vigils in some form or another, but most don't sunrise Matins (pronounced "MATT'-inz") See above and below. Matins, called "Orthros" in the Eastern Churches, includes the three Nocturnes that once belonged to Vigils. The sunrise office known as "Matins" has been transformed into the "Office of Readings" which can be said at any time of the day. Lauds (pronounced "lawds") The word means "The Praises." Matins and Lauds were originally one, single office sung at dawn. After Vigils started to be callled "Matins," Matins started to be called "Lauds." Lauds or "Morning Prayer" or "The Praises" 6:00 AM (the "first hour") Prime ~Abolished~ 9:00 AM (the "third hour") Terce (pronounced like "terse") Called collectively "The Little Hours" or "Prayer through the Day," they are still called individually "terce," "sext," and "none." Only one of these short offices is obligatory for clergy/religious or those wanting to pray the complete Divine Office. noon (the "sixth hour") Sext 3:00 PM (the "ninth hour") None(rhymes with "bone") sunset Vespers Vespers or "Evening Prayer" or "Evensong" after sunset, before bed Compline (pronounced "COMP'-lin") Compline or "Night Prayer." One can get most of the Breviary's prayers from the Internet, here at http://breviary.net/. .
These gifts are for the body of Christ - and I know you will use them as directed. The events of this storm (I love that Charlie named it!) should not cause us fear or dismay - we expect them. What I'm being shown is that soaking up the "news" from the "world" is a distraction and a sure recipe for the "side-tracking" we're all so prone to fall into. Reading your experiences ties into my new prayer assignment: targeted prayer. They talked about it a lot at the protestant Lancaster Prophetic Conference with Terry Bennett, Neville Johnson and Sadhu. So, I begin my rosaries asking, "For whom shall we pray? I don't want to pray my prayers; I want to pray only in the Divine Will." For each decade I'm given a particular intention tied to that mystery. I love it! Also, I feel called throughout the day to stop what I'm doing and go to my prayer place for targeted intercession. It's a contemplative, breath thing, for specific intentions. It's very different from the practice of contemplative prayer that I'm used to, taking 30 minutes to get still before I can enter it. This is like slipping into a pool of water. I'm guessing it's so quick and easy because of the times we're living in - no time to mess around! This is the warfare I'm called to. It sounds to me like your visions achieve the same purpose - targeted intercession. And you don't need TV for that! P.S. I bet every rosary-praying child of Mary on this forum is getting these same nudges for targeted intercession in a variety of ways. Don't ever ignore the nudge!!!
Adding the prayer to my Hail Marys is a devotion I "collected" over 20 years ago. I forgot where it even came from until I read about it on Janet's site! Those powerful devotions have sticking power!
Re calls to prayer, mine often come in dreams. A long time ago I had a dream that my father was hugging me like he was never going to see me again. The next day I phoned all of my sisters and said, I think we need to pray for Dad. Later that week he was called in for routine gall bladder surgery. He had a crisis on the table which he survived. I really believe that call to prayer was efficacious. So now I interpret certain dreams which I think have meaning as primarily calls to prayer. And let us remember, the Lord does not call us to prayer unless he means to answer the prayer. So pray with confidence. It is a great mystery that God uses us to accomplish his purposes, but he does! As for my everyday prayers, I have appointed our Mother as administrator of my prayers. When someone asks for prayer, and those incidences are increasing, I place them immediately in the Immaculate Heart, the Flame of Love. Then I offer all my prayers for the conversion of sinners which is Our Lady's most dear wish. I once felt the Lord tell me: "You take care of my business and I will take care of yours." It took me a while to figure out what he meant by that. God's business is SOULS. So I offer most of my prayers for souls and place all my needs in the Flame of Love. It is a very simple way that helps me also grow in trust. I still pray for specific intentions sometimes, but this is my usual way to pray.
