You want to go look up the clips where he promised us Hope and Change, peace with Muslims, end to war in Iraq, $2500 reductions in our health care costs if Obamacare was implemented . . . should I continue? He could tell me it was going to rain while it was pouring on my head and I wouldn't believe that man. Once bitten, 1,782 times shy . . .

Fatima Pilgrim, I'm not looking for a fight....just observing he is speaking in harsher tones than ever. I am not an Obama supporter. For whatever reason, his back is finally against the wall and the Christians in Iraq may stand a candle of a chance of getting help. That's all.

I'm sorry, I was being sarcastic not arguing. Just pointing out Obama is a liar, a very good one. And an excellent reader of prepared speeches. I am not getting my hopes up. The UK PM cut his vacation short and headed back to work after this atrocity? Obama? Gave another speech and went back to golfing.

Oh for Mother Angelica to still be boss. A few days ago, I was listening to EWTN radio, a daily hour show. A caller got through somehow and began to read a yet to be approved message from Heaven for the world. The host immediately stopped the person and gave the "lecture." No one got to hear the message. How are people at EWTN ever going see before it hits them? Offer a prayer for an EWTN change of heart to being open to yet to be approved private revelation which right now is mainly the yet to be approved.

I was sad, just like another Catholic radio program, Catholic Answers' response, dismissal. The next day on the Net came a consolation. My not knowing, hah, I never knew, Mother Angelica's conversion and a physical healing came about because of the mystic, Rhoda Wise. If not for Mother Angelica turning to someone who is yet to be approved by the Church, we would not have EWTN.

An exception to share, EWTN's change, Colin Donovan, his writing on Garabandal.

As far as I recall Mother Angelica herself approves of Garabandal and showed this publically on at least one occasion.

Great Apostolates like EWTN seem to be subject of a great Universal, 'snake bites the foot' rule that as soon as the founder is dead or incapacitated (or even before) the devil moves in for the kill. It is a kind of spiritual swings and roundabouts kind of thing. But it has to be said that there are some very, very impressive programmes indeed still on ETWN. My own great favourite is, 'The Journey Home' with host Marcus Grodi.

I was listening to a programme called, 'Beyond Belief' on BBC Radio 4 the other day on the seven deadly sins. A Catholic Priest, an Orthodox Priest and a Hindhu priest. All very highly educated theologians all at the top of teaching .

They laughed at the idea of hell. Laughed again at any notion of the existence of the devil(s) . Laughed at the idea of Mortal Sin. Then they went on to chortle and giggle at the idea of mortal sin.

Bad enough that these two were heretics but to laugh at what people like myself believe in as somehow 'simple' well..

Somehow from the Catholic priest I was not surprises but the Orthodox priest well yes I did find it rather shocking. I don't know why but I had the silly notion that Orthodoxy had preserved...well. Orthodoxy.

    Apparently not.

A real eye opener. Laughing at true Catholic Doctrine. Laughing at it.

But as Padre Pio said, 'They will believe in hell when they get there'.:D

Sin is a very real concept, as are its consequences. Our Lady of Fatima has said that most people in hell were there because of the sins of the flesh. Sins of the flesh apparently include adultery, and adultery is almost promoted today and seen as a life style choice by many outlets and in the media.

St. John Chrysostom, a beloved Father of the Church, used to say and repeat that the Lord Jesus preached more often on the Catholic Dogma of Hell than any other subject.

In the past I have immediately discredited the "conspiracy" theories that have come upon 9/11 (and other issues) but now I'm not so sure. I've always been a bit leery about Ron Paul and still honestly don't know what to make of him? I guess part of it is my complete and utter distrust of anyone in our Congress right now! But, given all that us now happening on the wired stage -and i use this word on purpose- are events just like 9/11- being orchestrated ? So much confusion out there right now. The only conclusion and certainty of know of right now is The Reality- Jesus Christ- I pray that I put all my a Trust in Him and Him alone.

...and what is the real story about this "war" going on in the Ukraine:

In the early 90s, just a few years after I was received into the Church, I wrote a furious letter to a Cardinal in the aftermath of a public controversy where orthodox Catholics were treated shabbily and mocked as unsophisticated simpletons. When I was a little boy and surrounded by certain southern fundamentalists, many were anti-Catholic bigots. Now that I am Catholic, I find myself still often surrounded by anti-Catholic bigots - but they are far more often nominally Catholic than they are fundamentalists. And too often, there are priests among them.

BUT, I take heart. Since I began my website, I have been contacted by a surprising number of solid priests...John Paul II priests some call themselves. They are quietly preparing their flocks and their brethren for difficult times when real faith is required. The generation of 60's and 70's beatniks in the pulpit is passing away. I am encouraged by those who are rising.

The real story of this war and all others is called sin. It is not more complicated then that. All countries all people are the cause of war, as all are culpable of sin.

There is nothing more painful in the entire world, Charlie for many people than to be laughed at. Jesus we are told was laughed at on the Cross.

That is why , I suspect many priests are terrified of any mystical phenomena. They are afraid of being laughed at .

Also of being sent by their Bishops to care for the penguins on an ice berg on the North Pole by their Bishops, who are even more scared of being laughed at.

I thought for those here in the US, especially those on the Northeast who might want to take the trip to DC, this was timely and worthwhile. In fact, no matter where you live in the world, you are encouraged to join in the prayers and fasting as it is surely needed right now.

I've not been as concerned about the 9/11 anniversary other than the year immediately after as I am for this upcoming one. My job was taking me to DC for that day, but I'm very great full that the trip has been postponed. Stories like this continue to raise my alert lights for next week. I pray it will pass with no incidents.

I totally agree with you Mike. It feels as if something is up. Maybe even overseas as well. I've been thinking about Gabandal's dream about a terrible attack in Europe by extremists. It seems feasible that could happen at some point soon.

I can't believe you wrote that Mike....I had dinner with a dear spiritual friend last evening. I told her I think the attacks will be focused on DC this go around. Taking the head off the US govt. They want it all....Obama, The Senate, The Pentagon.....they want to see how America responds when their nation's capital is knocked out of existence in one fell swoop....that would be the ultimate coup....also, I fear similarly for the Bishops and our Pope in the upcoming Synod.

Yes, Mother Angelica's approval of Garabandal. She believes and sees the importance of the yet to be approved. This was my complaint, EWTN needs to be open to all the prophetic, they do not realize the times and of the soon Great Tribulation.

The wonderful about EWTN, they touch so many. After I was first converted, I never missed the Journey Home and I love Father Mitch Pacwa. Father has such a kind way.

Michael Voris' Vortex today, wow! Watch at about 7:26. Michael introduces Mother, you'll see a very early Mother Angelica speak out. God bless her and her network.

I was always surprised by her impact, she looked so harmless yet packed such a massive punch.

I must pray for her at mass this morning. Poor woman, called to suffer.
