    Honestly, I think we are at the pinnacle of something huge....Ebola, the Ukraine, Israel and New World Orders....I don't know about everyone else but I have experienced great interpersonal stress as of late. Loved ones are having all kinds of problems and stressors as am I.....I continually pray....."I cover myself and my family in the Precious Blood of Jesus"......using Holy Water all over the house....I have to ask my pastor to bless salt. Do you just bring a package of salt and ask them to bless it? I have 4 blessed Medjugorje medals (I brought back) buried at the foundation points of my home....

    I was a bit stressed until a week ago then I found just oceans of peace for my fears. I felt the Good lord say to me,

    I have always been with you in the past, what makes you think I will not be with you in the future?'

    That gave me so much assurance and peace. We will get through it together , the Lord and me. Let Him take your hand and walk through it with you.

    yesterday I took more time for an Hour in Front of the Blessed Sacrament . More peace.

    I counsel all who read this to put time aside for really sustained prayer at the moment.

    We are being swamped in signs but people just go on as normal not realising the fragility of the world around us.

    I am just back from six days of holiday in the south of Ireland and can confirm the world just goes on as normalo_O

    As far as I am aware there is a particular prayer that the priest says in the case of salt, not just a regular blessing. They call it exorcised salt. I saw a priest do this once but he did it in Spanish and it was a long prayer.

    Padraig - we were born for these times and will be given so much support from heaven to get us through.

    I have occasionally suffered the last few years from panic attacks during the middle of the night usually in the darkest hours but now when they come I feel the consolation of God's presence. He holds me up when I am about to fall. There is a reason for everything and these experiences are testing but teach us to put our trust in God in the darkest of situations.

    It is the devil that causes fear and it is our Lord Jesus who taught trust. I prefer the latter.

    The Lord who accompanied us through peace and joys will not abandon us in these times of trouble. In fact, the times of greatest trial and terror are the very times when God raises up the most saints. I have good news: we have a bumper crop of saints coming ;)

    I too wake up in the middle of the night, Bobby. I put this down to getting older and doing night shifts.:)

    I went into Clonard Monastery the other afternoon and took my glasses off to wipe them. They were putting a show on in the Church that night and the road crew ere in setting up the equipment. They had been using smoke making machinery and the Church was filled with a white smoke with bright lights flashing....

    On balance I disagree with using a Church for a concert. I think a Church is for praying in, but I don't want to sound like an old fogey and go into a rant. ;)

    I went into the enclosed side chapel with the large statue of St Therese and sat there for an hour.
    [IMG]

    I noticed a vase of beautiful white roses at St Therese's statue. I managed to pray well, I think but could not help wondering why all the road crew seemed to have beards, long hair, to be small fat with heavy metal t -shorts.:D

    I understand people having fear when considering all that is unfolding. Tonight here in Brisbane our 5 baby is being baptised welcomed into her new life in Christ. She is just over a week old and at times when I have looked at her knowing her total dependence I am reminded that Jesus sees my total dependence. I do not even have the ability to breathe without his grace holding me willing me to exist. Our holy Mother told us there is no room for fear in a heart surrendered to the Holy Spirit. I renounce fear born of attachment to the world to my own life. Into your hands my beloved I entrust all that I am. In your mercy hold me close to your heart and never permit me to separate myself from you. I will remember my forum family at the holy mass prior to the baptism. As we as a family renounce the evil one I will whisper you all to his Majesty. Peace and hope to you all.

    There is a heaviness, a somber, weighty feeling in my spirit these days, and I am called to prayer constantly.

    Something keeps coming to my mind, "the valley of decision." I'm praying for the people in the valley of decision at this time. (I don't know what it means - found a reference in Joel ch. 4 - below).

    Hurry and come, all you neighboring peoples,
    assemble there!

    Bring down, LORD, your warriors!

    12Let the nations rouse themselves and come up

    to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;

    For there I will sit in judgment

    upon all the neighboring nations.

    13Wield the sickle,
    g
    for the harvest is ripe;

    Come and tread,

    for the wine press is full;

    The vats overflow,

    for their crimes are numerous.
    *

    14Crowds upon crowds

    in the Valley of Decision;

    For near is the day of the LORD

    in the Valley of Decision.h
    15Sun and moon are darkened,

    and the stars withhold their brightness,
    i
    16The LORD roars from Zion,

    and from Jerusalem raises his voice,
    j
    The heavens and the earth quake,

    but the LORD will be a shelter for his people,

    a fortress for the people of Israel.

    Hard to believe the godless UN actually spent time and resources creating a damning report of Ireland not having more liberal abortion access as a basic human right, but remains fairly quiet and toothless in the face of incredible human Rights violation in Iraq. Incredible, absolutely incredible.

    This Sunday's Gospel is great -
    Peter makes possibly the dumbest statement in the Bible - seeing the figure on the water he says - "Lord if it is you, tell me to come to you across the water."o_O
    And if it wasn't Jesus what would the figure have replied???

    Anyway, Peter gets out, walks on the water, gets afraid and sinks (done that a million times myself!)
    Lord! Save me! he cried.
    Jesus put out his hand at once and held him.

    We'll start well, we'll have faith, we'll lose it, get afraid, sink.

    Just remember to cry out LORD! SAVE ME!

    While I am saddened at the plight of innocent Palestinians who are killed in the conflict with terrorists and Israel, why is the world/media silent on the massive killing of Christians in Syria. :(

    The mainstream media has never been a friend of the Church. It is of the world and thus under the control, at least the implicit control, of the evil one. The media applauds gay life style, abortion, divorce etc... all their movies and TV shows promote promiscuity. We can not look to the media (at least the mianstream media) for truth or fairness.

    The UN has the spirit of the anti-Christ. Don't look to them for sanity.

    Absolutely, Charlie. In the current dramatic situation, which is so disorienting precisely because it appears unprecedented, keeping a sense of balance is surely critical. On one hand, it has to be right to 'weep with those who weep', lamenting above all the eternal loss of souls (each day) created by God and uniquely precious in his sight. There is no way of getting round the tragic reality that for many of those who will leave this earth in the present convulsions, the destiny is eternal separation from God. The casualties are enormous...

    However, at the same time, the Lord tells us that 'when these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near' (Luke 21:28). The Enemy is making this assault precisely because he knows that his time is short, and this is 'asymmetric warfare' to the extent that his limited power bears no comparison with the authority of Christ.

    Some words in the latest purported heavenly communication dated July 17 to Javier Viesca in Mexico (http://diospadresemanifesta.com ), whose lengthy, discursive messages are IMHO characterized by pedagogy of great depth, give some advice, allegedly from God the Father, which I think bears repeating in this context;

    Do not focus on the events of the purification, place all your attention, hope and love in what will come after, and - I repeat this to you - the purification has to happen and will be for the good of My own, for the good of those who are with me, for the good of My obedient children, those who seek to please me and those seeking their spiritual perfection.

    Perhaps you might be sad, with everything that I am prophesying to you, which will come in a future that is already very near? If you truly live with My Wisdom, you ought to be happy to know that everything will change, that I will put evil aside and that finally you will fully enjoy Love, Life and My Promises which I have declared to you so much. Your heart should now be full of joy, full of hope and, above all, full of a great gratitude towards Me, your God, your Father, your Creator. I am declaring everything beautiful that you will have.

    Is there something wrong that I have told you, that you might fear or that might cause you any interior discomfort? Everything is Love in Me, My little ones, My Love is what awaits you. Stay with Me, trust fully in what I declare to you, rejoice and take this word to your own, so that they might prepare to enjoy My Promises and My Love to the full.

    (translation PB)
    In other words, even if it's easier said than done, let us not get fixated on the 'pains of childbirth' (Matthew 24:8, Romans 8:22). Focus on the baby to be born.
