:x Gosh I dont know how I am going to cope with coming events. I am stressing out at the minute worring over several family problems. If you have a prayer to spare think of me. God bless Mary
Actually today is the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross and the following is the litany which I am saying and joining my crosses to: Litany in Honor of the True Cross Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Christ, hear us. Christ, graciously hear us. God, the Father of Heaven, have mercy on us. God the Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us. God, the Holy Spirit, have mercy on us. Holy Trinity, One God, have mercy on us. The word of the Cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. God forbid that I should glory save in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Jesus has many who love His Kingdom in Heaven, but few who bear His Cross. He has many who desire comfort, but few who desire suffering. He finds many to share His feast, but few His fasting. All desire to rejoice with Him, but few are willing to suffer for His sake. God forbid that I should glory save in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Why do you fear to take up the Cross, which is the road to the Kingdom? In the Cross is salvation and life, protection against our enemies, infusion of Heavenly sweetness; in the Cross is strength of mind, joy of spirit, excellence of virtue, perfection of holiness. There is no salvation of soul, nor hope of eternal life, save in the Cross. God forbid that I should glory save in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Take up the Cross, therefore, and follow Jesus, and go forward into eternal life. Christ has gone before you, bearing His Cross; He died for you on the Cross, that you also may bear your cross, and desire to die on the Cross with Him. For if you die with Him, you will also live with Him. And if you share His sufferings, you will also share His glory. God forbid that I should glory save in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. See how in the Cross all things consist, and in dying on it all things depend. There is no other way to life and to true inner peace, than the way of the Cross. Go where you will, seek what you will; you will find no higher way above nor safer way below than the road of the Holy Cross. God forbid that I should glory save in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. The Cross always stands ready, and everywhere awaits you. You cannot escape it, wherever you flee; for wherever you go, you bear yourself, and always find yourself. Look up or down, without you or within, and everywhere you will find the Cross. And everywhere you must have patience, if you wish to attain inner peace, and win an eternal crown. God forbid that I should glory save in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, spare us, O Lord!. Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, graciously hear us, O Lord!. Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Let us pray. Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us to follow Thee not only to the Breaking of Bread but also to the drinking of the Cup of Thy Passion. Help us to love Thee for Thine own sake and not for the sake of comfort for ourselves. Make us worthy to suffer for Thy name, Jesus, our Crucified and Risen Lord and Savior, now and forever. Amen.
Thank you so much for reminding me of todays feast, Mary. I was thinking of suffering lately on account of praying for some people who are going through a very bad time. The Lord was reminding me in prayer that He is like a gardener who goes round pruning the roses in order to get the best yield of flowers. I remember in the monastery the old monk who was showing me how to do it trained me to cut them really, really far back and I was a bit nervous because I thought I was killing the whole lot of them, but next summer. lo and behold an acre full of roses. Padre Pio had a good saying I was reading , 'The angels envy us one thing, our suffering.' At the minute I am going through I think one of the very happiest periods of my life. The good Lord is raining down graces and joys on me from all directions. So I feel the greatest compassion on people like yourself who are going through the pits, I will most certainly be praying for you and yours. I know things must be terrible Mary but never doubt that Our Lord and Our Blessed Lady are right in there alongside you. I am indulging in a prayer practise a lot at the minute which is giving me loads of consolation Mary and might help you. I send my angel guardian to the throne of Mary in heaven and to the feet of Jesus begging them to listen to my prayer requests. I have the poor wings worn of the poor angel. This gives me great confidence. Maybe this might help you. There I have just asked Him to go for you!1 I will recall your needs at mass tonight. All Gods richest blessings. August Queen of Heaven, sovereign Mistress of the Angels, who didst receive from the beginning the mission and the power to crush the serpent’s head, we beseech thee to send thy holy angels, that under thy command and by thy power, they may pursue the evil spirits, encounter them on every side, resist their bold attacks, and drive them hence into the abyss of woe. Most holy Mother, send thy angels to defend us and to drive the cruel enemy from us. All ye holy angels and archangel, help and defend us. Amen. O good and tender Mother! Thou shalt ever be our Love and our Hope. Holy Angels and Archangels, keep and defend us. Amen
I'm praying with you, Mary. I can relate as my own family is being tossed about in the spiritual storm lately, and our little boat is taking a beating, but I place all my trust in Jesus that He will bring us through it. Darrell
I'll keep all of you in my prayers. Lately, I've been feeling some spiritual consolation. This concerns me, because I usually don't have this luxery unless some personal crisis is around the corner. I-yi-yi! The Serenity Prayer God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Thank you all so much for your prayer and consolations. I will also remember your needs. Its great when things get too much to have some prayer buddies. Mary
Don't leave me out! Mary, I'll join the others in praying for you! I also wanted you to know we printed out the Litany of the Cross and used it in our family prayer today. Thanks! I'm on my knees for you, Darrell. I'm jumping up and down for you, Rain! In the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!
Wow this feels good. We are going to really need each other in the days to come. Mario, I too recited this litany with my husband and daughter this evening and venerated the cross. Tomorrow Saturday is a feast of Our lady of Sorrows. Mary
Hi everybody, I am feeling the benefit of your prayers I have peace now. I started the novena to Our lady undoer of knots on lees suggestion and Lee it gives me great peace and confidence as I visualise my Guardian Angel aproaching the throne of Our lady Queen of the Holy Rosary with a big bundle of knotted ribbon which is my life and she has already started to untangle the knots. Thanks so much to you all and I will keep you all in my prayers. Mary
Undoer of Knots Mary, I'm so glad you are with Mary the Undoer. It's such a blessing, you'll see. Lee
Have been off the forum for some time. Prayer request for my Mother-in-law Bernadette. Mother of eight children and is presently in Hospice since last Friday. They have told us that she has around 12-20 hours left here on earth. Only God truly knows. She has received the last rites and communion up till today. Her family is all here praying the chaplet and rosaries around her bed side. A beautiful and God loving woman who prayed the rosary daily and at times we have caught her on her knees by the bed side at the age of 94 and feel this may be one of the reasons she has fallen so much in the past six months. May her soul and all the faithfully departed souls rest in peace. Amen It could be a "Good Friday"! Ask her to pray for you in her loving departure. Thank you and may God Bless You
For Bernadette I will pray for the grace of a happy death/in the arms of the Blessed Mother and St Joseph.
For Bernadette...JESUS, Mary and Joseph, I give Thee my heart and my soul. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, assist me in my last agony. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, may I breathe forth my soul in peace with thee.
Praying... what a comfort that she is a child of the blessed Mother! Just think of the mountain of prayers she has amassed for the hour of her death...
