  1. Its like Verne's message said, all the MUCK is being stirred up from the bottom of the pond.....and coming to the surface....

Whenever I go up for Communion at Mass, these horrible blasphemous thoughts come into my head. I quickly say No, No! in my head, but it is still bothersome. I feel badly about it.

I have a little theory of which I am sure is true. We can actually tune into demonic talk. I often do it myself.

It is interesting I find. So long as no attempt at communication is made. I think they are blocked out from seeing us doing this.

It is also possible that the devil is attacking this forum in particular, the members. The price we always pay for spiritual success. The devil takes an interest. The bigger the success, the bigger the interest. He is many things, he is never stupid. I find.

I hear it in my thoughts too and more so now it seems. It is like they don't give up on you either. Always trying to put that doubt into my head even at church. Just the other day at mass I told them to get out of my head, I am at church. You can't be here with me before The Lord. They were gone. I don't think much if these things but now that you mention it I too notice it more. That is why a place like this board is great so we can share with people who truly get it too. We grow in faith and trust together by sharing the experiences and challenges to come with each other. It is what a strong spiritual family needs.

St Teresa of Avila noticed demons all the time too.

I think their time is so short, they're going nuts. Only so much time left to feed on souls .

I wouldn't say demonic, but I've felt something different in the wind since the turn of the year. On two occassions I did commit a sin I had not committed in years and have had a very hard time getting into a good prayer groove. I got a bit nervous that I would surrender precious spiritual ground gained by my recent heavy cross. That was part of why I started the are you spiritually ready thread. I'm in a better groove now, thanks be to God. It's hard to explain, but something changed this year. I'm more aware of how attached some people are to the world...or maybe I'm more detached. I don't know. But, lately I've felt like an observer of the world and not a participant.

When I was having frequent attacks by the enemy, I asked a holy priest how to best respond. He told me to pray something like this:

"God the Father, creator of heaven and earth, commands you to the foot of the cross where you are defeated. God the Son, redeemer of the world, commands you to the foot of the cross, where you are defeated. The divine spirit of love commands you to the foot of the cross where you are defeated."

I found this prayer very effective. Evidently, the pride of the enemy is gravely injured by reminding him of his defeat by the cross!

Also, I've found reciting the divine praises to be a great way to clear the spiritual air:

"Blessed be God. Blessed be His Holy Name. Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true man. Blessed be his most sacred heart. Blessed be his most precious blood. Blessed be Jesus in the most Blessed Sacrament of the altar. Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete. Blessed be the great mother of God, Mary most holy. Blessed be her immaculate conception. Blessed be her glorious assumption. Blessed be the name of Mary, virgin and mother. Blessed be St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse. Blessed be God in his angels and in his Saints!"

I highly recommend memorizing these prayers, so they come easily when we are under attack and not at our sharpest.

In a pinch, I would just say, loud and bold, "Blessed be the great mother of God, Mary most holy!" That always sends them packing.

He hates you laughing at him, it drives him nuts. A smiling person chases him like Holy Water. There is no laughter in hell, the devil has no sense of humour at all.

God however has a sense of fun, else how could he ever put up with us? Evil people too tend, I find to be deadly serious, the only thing they ever laugh at is other people getting hurt.

Yes, I have also felt an increase in attacks and anger coming out of nowhere. I have been lax in my prayer and need to get in for a confession and start praying a lot more. More rosaries as well. It seems when I let myself fall into sinful ways, then the devil leaves me alone again, I guess his work is done he thinks. But we have to all keep pushing forward, stay the course, keep praying, keep asking for forgiveness and keep on the path our Lord is leading us on

Kathy, you always have great stories to share. I greatly enjoyed your book, BTW. It taught me a few things, so I thank you for that.

I understand what it is liked to get blasted. But I have learned a lesson. When Jesus was tempted, he quoted the word of God and satan left him. I have noticed on my life if I quote the word of God during a temptation, the evil ones have to leave. Also, of you are being blasted, thank God you are doing the Lord's work and hell is trying to stop you. I think we have to worry when temptation ceases. It can mean God is giving us a reprieve or we are already in the devils's camp. even quoting one of the Ten Commandments during the temptation helps, since most sin involves breaking one of the commandments. Finally, rebuking the temptation in the name of Jesus and his most precious blood will also work. Sorry I am long winded.

    Thomas;

God made me a storyteller, and I think that's why things happen to me. What good is a storyteller without stories? Trouble is, those stories have to be lived first, then told. The living of them can be quite painful at times!

This is what I have been experiencing since the first of the year, as well as a resurgence of Seasonal Affective Disorder to a degree I had not suffered in almost a decade. My friend kept having the idea that he would die before the end of this year invade his thoughts, and his wife was also suffering from the intrusion of foul/blasphemous words into her mind. These things were all new to each of us and all since the new year.

  17. On the surrendering spiritual ground part I have found if I consecrate the day to Our Lady and ask her to protect all the graces past present and to come, it really makes a difference. I read this in St. Louise de Montfort's writings.. True Devotion to Mary ... I think it was..

  18. Thanks Andy3, my dog is in doggy heaven now.... His name was Scotty :)

  19. Is this what is happening to us who, yet still are sinners, continue to hope and pray for Faith and strength? I am encountering terrible abuses and lack of love from my own parents and sibling.
    Please pray for me.

Sometimes bad things come directly from the devil, sometimes not. Mostly things from the devil come indirectly.

Before I would think it came directly from the devil I would check out natural causes. In my opinion people can be wicked enough themselves with little help from hell. A little nudge here , a little nudge there from a fallen angel and they are off at full speed to total wickedness themselves.

So I would not blame everything right away on the devil. I think sometimes he must be surprised himself how bad people can get, I suspect some of the devils could take lessons from us. Especially politicians.

So I would say we must look at the badness in our own hearts, then others and lastly hell itself in that order.

The devil himself is often not so easy to spot in goings on, he is a tricky one. He is rarely obvious/
