This summer in the US has been devastating weather wise. Very hot and drought in the Midwest. Terrible storms in the Midwest. South of Chicago was hit hard by a direcho. People without power for weeks. Line crews going into Gary, In were shot at. Police had to escort linemen to the jobs. Followed by extreme flooding in southern Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky. Now there is a fierce nor’easter on the east coast. It looks like a hurricane. And the most powerful hurricane ever bearing down on the west coast. It will bring more flooding and rain in to southern Indiana and Ohio. The cane will lose the wind by the time it moves through the Rockies, but will bring a lot of rain. Warnings and watches for the Midwest are already going up for the middle of next week. Last week Indiana experienced some small earthquakes, very unusual for this state. Storms both in nature and in mankind is increasing. But this was prophesied.
God is calling us to pay attention. But so very many people are far, far away, it will be hard to awaken them. It reminds me of the saying, 'The Holy Spirt comes to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable. ' I think it was St Catherine of Sienna who said that comfort was the great enemy of the spiritual. We kind of wallow in it and will not walk forward. Pleas God this may be a time of huge conversion and may God grant and raise up many Holy Prophets to awaken His people. His little ones.
Yes watching everything unfold. A few years ago the solar eclipse over the US marked an x on the spot of the New Madrid Fault. This year the two big storms, one from the west and one from the east are converging on the same location. All over the country the church is closing down parishes and merging them with other parishes. The excuse, we don’t have enough Priests. There is something going on, will people wake up? You are so right, they are asleep.
I am praying we will get rain this week. We're supposed to, but we'll see. We had severe drought over the summer, with very high temps well into the 110's, and though my immediate area got just enough rain to keep things alive, in the city and other parts of the country entire trees have died and ponds are drying up. My dad's pond is bone-dry. Around here, the cattle are wading out into the center of the ponds with the water to their knees or below. I can see lily pads way up in the air, with their long bendy stems entirely exposed. It took me a bit to realize what they were. We thought they were birds like flamingos at first lol. Anyway, please will you pray we get a lot of rain soon? I have been so blessed to be able to keep my orchard and garden watered with my well water, but around here cattle are really relying on those ponds that are about to go dry.
Prayers for you all. Our well up here in Pulaski was stressed, but then went dry as my daughter, Rachel, and her family of 8, are visiting from California. So we are on severe precautions. Maybe when they fly out on Wednesday the situation will have proven temporary. But it's been unusually dry even as cool temps have provided some relief. Lord, provide rain for areas suffering from lack.
I wonder Terry if you will get effects of the storm on the east coast and if Texas will get relief from the storm on the west coast . . .we have rain forecast from midweek for five days.
Prayers for all this morning. I happened across a drone video of severe flooding in New Jersey last night. I felt especially sorry for people who lived in basement appartments. I watched the cars driving through waist high waters and wondered why they where out driving in such flooding. For some too much water, for others too little. May God grant us good ,sensible weather,
Yrs. I will pray for this intention for you and Terry and all who are suffering the effects of drought. We have been in a very dry summer--very worried about our well but this noreaster had delivered some rain these last two days praise be to God.
That's the world I'm in right now Padraig...the rain has slowed down but won't be stopping until after 1 PM. I'm so thankful that we still have power. Some areas are so flooded. Praying for everyone suffering, whether from drought or flood.
One thing I particularly love about the Rosary is that it transports us to another place. I remember one night in a very high security prison I had just been severely beaten by warders and was then taken to the ' blocks' were I was beaten again and left covered in blood on the floor of a very bare cell. No furniture , not blankets in sub zero temps . I was then taken out in a yard in very heavy snow at night with the sound of dogs barking all around me.No socks no footware just jeans and a tee shirt. I had to keep running to keep warm Yet I said the rosary and it felt like being home again. It just felt warm and eventually when I slept I slept like a log. I really recommend the rosary in bad times. It really does work. Generations of Irish folk knew this in past. When times get bad you just can't beat the rosary.
My Irish granny had the Rosary in her hand always it seems and my mom also. I never really understood how powerful it is until i really starting saying it with love and trust. Padraig, it is a miracle that you are even alive, hearing that adds even more hope to my prayers! God definitely has a big plan for you and you are following His lead.
I simply cant be without it. I wrap it around my wrist at night and make sure I always have a blessed Rosary in my car. We are doing 40 Days for Life right now and I signed up for Monday so there I am with a lovely gentleman who was assigned the same hour in the pouring rain saying our Rosary together. Two bedraggled figures but the words flowed peace and strength and power. I could feel it. BTW he just got back from a pilgrimage to France. He told me of all the young people with their backpacks lined up against the ancient wall of this old Cathedral going into Mass. Hundreds of them. He was ready touched and amazed. " Aslan is on the move."
This has been a real eye-opening page. Praying for all. Just awful times. One hard trial after another. “Lord, let Your mercy be upon us as we place our trust in You.”
