I think one thing about interior spiritual suffering is that if we understood where it is coming from , the reason for it, the suffering would be much , much less. Or even go away altogether. The center of all such suffering is this not understanding. So like Jesus it causes us to ask the question, 'My Lord, my Lord why have you forsaken me?' So our own Cross may be shrouded in mystery so we can drink the wine to the lees. But I find that this can be a bit like the Irish weather. Sometimes the sun is behind the clouds , sometimes it peeks out and we can see. It requires a lot of patience. More prayers today.
A few nights ago I had a dream and saw three doves. Not sure the significance but I looked it up online and it said something to do with peace or perhaps the Holy Spirit.
My Spiritual Director used to tell me in times of Darkness to pray for the coming of the Holy Spirit. I tend to think of the Holy Spirit as dancing with joy.

This ordeal with our oldest son is coming to a head quickly. Please pray for the safety of our family and that everything that will happen will be for the benefit of our son's health, peace in the family and that he gets the help he needs, and also that Our Lady keep him wrapped him in her mantle through this stressful time..

I go through terrible darkness and desolation at times. It can be very difficult but I try to offer it up for souls. I am also suffering with physical difficulties at the moment which is hard but I try to keep going. Sorry that this is going on so long but I am trying my best. I was praying the Rosary last night and felt Our Lady's presence and experienced the power of the prayer (Rosary)in a very powerful way, which was consoling.
