I didn't know which forum to place this under, you can move it if you wish. It is so upsetting to read, this is a message given Father Melvin Doucette of Prince Edward Island. Totally confusing, the "illumination of conscience" is to help save souls, how can it be false??? The regular Scripture quote included with each message to Father Melvin can be read on the website. http://www.ourladyofpei.com/ October 22, 2013 Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words, “May My grace and My peace fill you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who believe in Me with all your heart. I call you never to listen to false doctrines, and there is a lot of that going on today. Some are saying that the end of the world will come next month or next year on such a date. This is completely false as nobody knows when I will come to judge the living and the dead. Others speak about the‘illumination of conscience’, and this too does not come from Me. Some do not believe that I am truly present in the Holy Eucharist and they teach others about this falsehood. The truth is that I am truly present in the Eucharist and I said these words, and they are written in the Bible:‘Unless you eat My Body and drink My Blood, you do not have life in you.’ Others teach that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. Anyone who practices homosexuality should know that they are committing a mortal sin. I also wish to tell you never to go to séances or to satanic worship for these are grievously sinful. Remain united with Me and you will be saved. I love you all.”
Jackie, I'd steer clear of the yahoo group about seers. Fr. Melvin's messages are getting more and more out there, and if he is truly a priest he needs MUCH prayer.
Thank you! I hadn't read any messages for a few days, I happened to see this one earlier. Talk about upsetting, you think a consecrated priest son who is suppose to have the gift of healing besides that of prophecy. Maybe an example of a true messenger waylaid. I'll pray for him.
Just reading the message above...what has Father Melvin said that one disagrees with? The "illumination of conscience" is indeed debatable. MDM says the illumination of conscience is real...but she is a false prophet. So who is right...does this mean that Garabandal could have been from the devil and Father Melvin speaks the truth? In Holy Scripture it talks of the elect being decieved if possible. So the deceptions must be potent. Keep your faith in the revealed dogma of the Catholic Church and let the prophets and prophecies speak for themselves as they are revealed. Gain peace in the already revealed dogmas of the Catholic Church and let the Holy Spirit do His job. No one is bound under the penalty of sin to believe private revelation...as such...we must not let it upset our apple cart for we are children of a Mighty God who guards us with jealousy.
The warning is not just from Garabandral and MDM though. Saint Faustina spoke of it: Before I come as the just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy. Before the day of justice arrives, there will be given to people a sign in the heavens of this sort: All light in the heavens will be extinguished, and there will be great darkness over the whole earth. Then the sign of the cross will be seen in the sky, and from the openings where the hands and the feet of the Savior were nailed will come forth great lights which will light up the earth for a period of time. This will take place shortly before the last day. Message given to St. Faustina Diary of Divine Mercy, n. 83 Also, the English Jesuit and 16th century martyr, St. Edmund Campion, said “a great day that would reveal all men’s consciences,” a coming “day of enlightenment”. He exclaimed it be a day in which God will supernaturally illuminate the conscience of every man, woman, and child on earth. Each person would momentarily see the state of their soul through God’s eyes and realize the truth of His existence. I am sure there are more examples but these 2 come to mind for me. I hear you though about not getting upset about timing or don't look to much into inner revelations but I also feel that when heaven is talking to future Saints, that we should at least listen. It is almost insulting in a way to not listen to God or Our Mother when they are talking to us. There are countless examples in the bible about what happens to the people who chose not to listen to their prophets. God still sends us prophets so I will choose to listen and pray for discernment.
Tim and Andy, thank you for your thoughtful comments. Tim, Tim, I am bewildered by Father Melvin's October 22nd message because we have been hearing for years in the messages from Heaven, from many seers about the gift of the Great Warning and Andy gave examples of saints revealing the Great Warning. A lot is off in the MDM messages especially stating a duly elected Pope is the False Prophet. MDM never said it again! Her big mistake. But, Father Melvin's messages have been straight and narrow. The "illumination of conscience" is a very very good thing, a saving of souls, our God bringing the Truth to disbelievers and non-Christians, all of us.
The illumination of conscience may indeed be a true prophecy...but to set it out there as some sort of goal post or a set criteria is a bit presumptive. Think about all the inactivity of Protestant Christians at this critical hour because they await "the Rapture". How many have been deceived...how many will lose their faith because of thier misunderstanding of Sacred Scripture. How many souls will be lost because of the stinking thinking that says "okay...pack your bags...withdraw from the world...God is coming to take HIS own". Do you see how the trap has been set. At this time in history...Pope Francis is calling for just the opposite...we are to go out to the alleys and gutters and call people in...it is a renewed call for evangelization. I am thinking of the danger of "what if this illumination of conscience does not actually happen". How many people have pinned their hope and desire on the illumination of conscience, how many people would lose hope or even their faith if it did not happen. If it happens...great...its the cherry on top of the milkshake...but if it does not happen...we have even greater treasures in the Sacraments of the Church...rivers of grace if we but avail ourselves of them. Always actively work toward personal conversion... and irregardless of whether a prophet or visionary is true or false...we will be on the safe path.
It is my understanding that the warning is not an experience to look forward too but more of one to prepare for so that we don't die by the horrors of our sin.
If you think about it, the illumination of conscience is what happens to each of us at the moment of death. So, we need to prepare for it, sooner or later, and we need to pray that every heart is softened to withstand it, sooner or later. I Don't see any similarities in expecting this illumination, which we've been warned of from so many credible sources, with the rapture thinking that makes people disengage and wait to be beamed up.
Tim, I am one who has a hope for the "illumination of conscience." True, the "illumination of conscience" could be false but reading the Protestant messages, God is speaking to Protestants in a gentle way to get them ready to accept the faith. He can't spell it out right now so He prepares them in a less obvious way. Protestants are hearing the "illumination of conscience" called the "awakening" or the "revealing", the "unveiling." More and more, a second, prophecy about the pinnacle of the faith, Our Lord speaks of the most Holy Eucharist. I posted one example, an excerpt, part of a message to Protestant Jeff Kingshott.
All these prophecies...and all these conflicting messages...dates set...dates not met...she said this...he said that...Saint so so said this but this Pope said that...only 3 souls out of 10,000 were saved...no but wait...really? If you want to live in a whirlwind of speculation and/or even confusion...thats ones choice. I certainly respect that...but until the event comes to past...it would be wise to remember that the fullness of revelation is found already in the Catholic Church. I have certainly seen sacred cows made of certain visionaries or messages. I am reminded of the followers of Bayside New York that where ex-communicated. I am simply saying...the illumination of conscience...as good as it sounds...simply may not happen. This possibility may rock your world...it might even knock you out of your rocking chair. Just saying...if it doesn't happen...just know we still have the greatest treasures ever known in the Sacraments of the Holy Catholic Church.
Amen Tim and of course you are right. I will still continue to read and wonder though because I don't want to miss anything that may be a gift to us now from heaven. All we really need is God and his word and to follow His laws but it is fascinating for me to research and wonder how all the mysteries of the bible will play out.
I was away for a few days and not able to pray much, then I return home and see this message to Father Melvin! I don't care what the message (in the OP) says, the Warning is good and true. Hang onto it, believe prophecy we have heard for so long. The faith and God's promise of help do not change. My initial wondering over a few words made me think of people who will reject the "illumination of conscience" even after they experience it. Keep praying for conversions and notice the order that prophecy is listed. 1 Cor 12:28 And God indeed hath set some in the church; first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly doctors; after that miracles; then the graces of healing, helps, governments, kinds of tongues, interpretations
and that is exactly how Satan wants you to feel. "something not to look forward to" There will be an illumination of conscience. But it is not a 'warning' like Satan is telling those who follow false prophecies. But it will be Jesus coming in His final coming as He said to St Faustina. But He will come in mercy, and the greatest of sinners will be entitled to this mercy. No where in the Bible is there any word of a warning only Jesus coming again to judge the living and the dead.
Luke, hi, The end times are not easy to figure out. Every day the messages from Heaven help you. For example, reading recent Protestant and Catholic messages talking about the 3 Days of Darkness which mainly Catholics have read in prophecy comes at the time of the Chastisement at the end of Tribulation. But, these recent messages read as though it is a lot sooner and one of the messages (Protestant) sounded as though a darkness happens at the time of the prophesied Warning! It was not until someone shared Our Lord's words to Faustina (paragraph 80) about a "darkness" at the time of the Warning did those new messages make sense. to me. I take it there are two times of darkness, a shorter period of time (at the Warning), not long and the 3 days of darkness (during God's just Chastisement). The Warning is a divine act of "mercy" for the entire world. You spoke of the Final Judgment in your last sentence. And, Jesus is coming soon, spiritually, His middle coming. This is when divine signs, prophesied divine events are going to begin to take place. One of them to start is the Warning. The Warning is also called the Great Warning, the illumination of conscience, the mini judgment. Protestants are hearing it called the awakening and two new ones, see below, the unveiling and the revealing. The Protestant messages are getting more explicit. They're hearing about the Warning and the Eucharist every day now. The Warning of Garabandal, one reference to it in Scripture is Revelation 6:15-17. Except for a few holy people, we will all wish to hide, for the rocks to fall on us when we see our soul as God sees it. Even the Protestants are hearing the Warning referenced from Scripture in their latest messages. In non-Catholic Christian Luke's message, there is reference to Revelation 6:17, notice words from the final verse in Revelation Chapter 6. http://www.openheaven.com/ Prophecies forum - page 3 ~ ~ ~ Message to Luke Laffin October 19, 2013 I am coming like a lion - My people will begin to know Me as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah - I will roar and My roar is fierce. None have known Me in this way yet and it will cause fear and dread in many - even those who have known me and have walked close to me will recoil when I begin to unveil this aspect of who I am. My people have known Me as Lamb, and Shepherd, but they have only had faint glimpses from a distance at the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. I have spoken to you and have prepared your heart so that you may bear the dread of this unveiling and will not shrink back. You have tasted of My severity and know what it is to fear Me. Your flesh will tremble and your carnal mind will flee - but you have prepared your heart and the Spirit is secure within you. You will stand quickly in this revealing and will be as a dread champion. People will look and see My severity and they will tremble. My gaze of love will mingle with My judgment and those that are mine will see My heart and have hope, but those who do not know Me as Lamb WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STAND before the Lion. Revelation 6:17 For the great day of their wrath is come, and who SHALL BE ABLE TO STAND?
Matthew 24 4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains. 9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. 15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’[a] spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. In this passage Jesus is talking about our present times, 'The Tribulation' . He clearly distinuguishes it from the End of the World to all that has gone before. If you have time say a prayer for me this morning.
Hi Jackie, You sound like a woman who is close to me. She was like you some years ago until she let go of all these false prophecies and listened only to the truth of the church. You opened up this discussion called "Warning against false doctrines". Yet you are reading these "false doctrines", no wonder you are sounding confused. Who is Luke Laffin and Father Melvin? I can't find their names in Catholic Church approvals nor can I find Garabandal or MDM. I would suggest they are 'all' false prophets. Revelations 6:15-17. This is no proof that a warning will take place. Yes, it talks about a wrath. But 'maybe' that is for those who don't want to recognise Jesus coming in His great and unfathomable Divine Mercy. (St Faustina) Why on earth would Jesus send a wrath to the ones who accept His mercy? This is NOT the Jesus we know and read about in scriptures. I believe the wrath will be for those who sin the ONLY unforgivable sin? What is that sin? Matthew 12:31-32 31 And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit in short is... when you do not accept the forgiveness and mercy of God. So beware of believing Jesus is coming with a fearful warning. NO, He comes in mercy.
