Today I went to Mass of course, and to my surprise my non-Catholic (dad atheist, mom non-practicing Protestant) parents decided to go with me. I tried my best to help them understand what was happening, and the Mass was very beautiful, but I don’t think they were very reverent or open to conversion (don’t worry they didn’t receive the Blessed Sacrament). I don’t think they’ll go back. Anyways, I would like to ask everyone here to pray for their conversion, and also pray for me. Side note: My father is also cheating on my mother with a co-worker and we aren’t supposed to know so all that’s also happening right now.
I will certainly pray for these intentions. Remember that they were at this Mass. That was no accident.
Will pray for the family. Something must have made them want to go to Mass and maybe Our Lady drew them on her feast day! Keep praying!
Thank you, everyone, for the prayers. They are very much appreciated. I love this community so much, we really build each other up through prayer and that is the best thing one can do amongst friends.
Their attendance was a baby step, but one that JoeJerk despised! Lead on, O Lord, to the next step! Prayers!
You might try praying to Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati. His parents were wealthy and very, very secular. Their son was the exact opposite. But eventually he converted them both, which seemed impossible.
Once again I would like to thank everyone, for your prayers have already borne fruit. Today my mother asked (!!!) to go to Mass with me and she did. She seemed to enjoy it. I even gave her a Miraculous Medal.
Its just an idea but maybe the Green Scapular, if you can talk them into it? Do you know the story of the Green Scapular? It is all about conversion. But anyway wonderful news. Its usually about parents converting their children, so wonderful to hear about the other way around. We need good news so badly at the moment.
She has a bad habit of wearing, let’s say, revealing clothing while at home. I don’t think I could convince her to wear a scapular yet… but maybe someday, nothing is impossible with God. But she does love jewelry so I hope she’ll like the medal. The world is really upside down.
