We Catholics know already the direction the Pope will take. He will emphasise care for the poor which will most likely not be compliant with the interests of the corporate capitalists. We also know what will be the response: "the Pope is a Communist plant; they have taken over the Catholic Church". And plenty of Catholics will believe and echo it, conveniently ignoring that the Church's condemnation of Communism also condemns atheistic corporate capitalism. The NYT is just one anti-Christian mouthpiece of corporate money lovers. Most legacy media are similar, some being worse and the majority being poor imitations. They love nothing more than to see Catholics bickering among themselves. The cherry on the cake for them would be Catholics undermining papal authority. That article is simply prepping the readership for the next stage in the process of their anti-Christian agenda.

If this is true, it's significantly bad. The African Church, like the Ukrainian one, was one of the few strongholds of resistance to document Fiducia Supplicans. In the case of the African Church, their role was decisive in the last synod.

La Salette is a Church approved apparition site, The Catholic Church approved the Our Lady of La Salette apparition in 1851. This approval came after an investigation by the local bishop, Philbert de Bruillard, following the reported vision to two children, Maximin Giraud and Melanie Calvat, in 1846. People tend to loose sight of this because of the controversy regarding the Secret. But it is as Church Approved as say Fatima or Lourdes. It is important to remember this. The reason I believe it came under such attack is that ,as with Akita in Japan (also Church approved) it mentions very dark things to happen in the future at the very highest levels in the Church. Personally I do believe the Prophecy of the Two Worm eaten Popes and yes I do believe it refers to Papa Frankie and the present Pope. As did the Third Secret of Fatima....the real third Secret of Fatima... I know it is difficult for folks to accept this, but there you go. No wonder Our Lady was crying at La Salette, when I see the current state of the Church I feel like crying myself.

Me too. The current pope has everyone snowed or asleep. But just the fact he has kept Fernández in place and not sacked him immediately and has not repudiated any of Bergoglio’x heretical documents, regardless of everything else, tells me everything I need to know.
