One of the lessons I took away from the book of Jeremiah is how when we start to serve ourselves it can take on a sense of infinite self-grandeur. The King was told if he would submit and serve under Nebuchadnezzar everything would have went well. Instead he chose against God, for his own desire to keep on sinning, forcing his own damned will at cost to everyone including himself, and wound up getting to watch his kids killed before having his eyes pushed in. Then it happened again right after with the cohort that refused to submit to Nebuchadnezzar in Judaiah. Never wanting to submit to God or to do anything but for ourselves leads to depravity and destruction.
Leo XIV Starts "Study Group on Liturgy" - Puts Liturgy on Back Burner for Years The Vatican released today a document for the next three years of the ongoing synodal process, entitled: “Pathways for the Implementation of the Synod”. The 24 pages document is the usual tiring and wordy drivel. Leo XIV has encouraged the ex-synod's leadership team [put in place by Francis] in their “commitment to the synodal journey,” urging them to “continue” their efforts. During his first meeting with the secretariat on June 26-27, Leo XIV confirmed that the phases of the ex-synod will proceed as scheduled by Francis on March 11. Further, Leo XIV confirmed the existing ten study groups on different topics, but adds two more groups on: - The Liturgy in a Synodal Perspective - The Statute of Episcopal Conferences, Ecclesial Assemblies, and Particular Councils. The Synod’s secretariat is responsible to ensure that Leo XIV’s decisions, developed also on the basis of the findings of these groups, will be integrated into the ongoing [and never ending] synodal journey. The Secretariat will also promote conferences and study seminars [= self-congratulatory gatherings with tasty buffets] https://gloria.tv/post/c9vSkozveMRb4aQWwhPp2SCMx
The way the Church is at the moment is that large parts of it are no longer Catholic. In Germany it is estimated that 90% of the Bishops there no longer cling to the Faith. The correct way would have been to excommunicate all those who are Apostate and no longer teach the Faith. However if you were to do this in the case of Germany there would no longer be a Catholic Church there. The German Church is pretty well bank rolling the Churhes so if you took action against the German Bishops the Catholic Church , in its present form would cease to exist. We would be bankrupt. That's only the problem with the Germans but of course there is widespread heresy and apostasy everywhere and taking action against it would come at a huge, huge cost..the Church as we know it now ceasing to exist. It sounds prudent and wise then not to take action, just to go along with things as we have. To steer a middle course so to speak But that is always the temptation when we face evil. Not to speak out. Just to keep silent.. To go along and get along. I am convinced that any Pope who ties to steer this path of compromise at the moment , trying to keep the Church afloat at the minute is, effectively doing a deal with the devil and is not part of a solution to the problem. It would of course take incredible courage and Faith for any Pope to start the Fight against the evil within the Church. He would be ending the Church as it is and opening the doors to the Great Persecution. But the only alternative is to compromise with the World and the evil within. If Pope Leo was the Pope to make such a heroic choice he would have taken it by now. He has not. We are clearly going down the go along , get along path of being married to the World. It just won't work. But a Pope will come who will bite the bullet and lead us into the Catacombs. But that Pope is not the present one.
There comes times in the History of the Church when she has faced Great Crisis and had to make radical decisions in order to survive. When for instance under St Peter she decided that the New Christians would not be subject to the old laws. During the Protestant Rebellion when she launched the Counter Reformation. When she lost the Papal States and became reconciled with the New Italian Republic. Now at present she is facing the biggest crisis in her history and has only two choices. To compromise with the evil within and the evil without and become a False Church, married to the World. Or to resist the evil without and expel the evil within and become small, a persecuted remnant. A Great Pope is coming who will make the heroic choice. The present Pope, I am afraid, is leading us even further into compromise. If he had being going to make the Heroic decisions they would have been made by now.
Yes, you're right, the NYT isn't worth paying special attention to. It is just an exemplary manipulative mouthpiece. The two NYT articles on Pope Leo only suggest that the powerful are not yet sure in which direction Pope Leo will go. Not surprisingly, that Blackrock, Vanguard and all the other investment companies have a stake in the NYT and that the Ochs family has Jewish origins.
He added a layer of discussion to the synod that concerns the status of episcopal conferences, particular councils, and the liturgy from a synodal perspective. I’m able to maintain an optimistic outlook on the liturgy, considering his deep appreciation for the Eastern liturgies, which are profoundly moving in their diversity and serve as a direct bridge to the Orthodox. However, I don’t see how “particular councils” could help undo the doctrinal confusion that has taken root in the Church over the past twelve years.
This explains a lot, especially if the church is no longer getting funded by USAID. So the German church is holding the rest of the church hostage.
It is my understanding that in Germany in order to remain Catholic a person has to donate something like 10% of their wages to the church. Which means the German church has and has had a huge income for many decades. Given the recent short fall in vatican finances which coincides with the closure of USAID any further shortfall could be crippling. Which would mean Pope Leo XIV is walking a tight rope. Which could explain why the TLM is still suppressed and no counter measures to Fiducis Supplicans have come out. Why all the same players are still in the Curia. Which would also likely mean China has an even stronger hold on the church now as well.
Money and religion make such a bad mix. If the Church had no money at all and was very poor I believe we would would loose our pervert and heretic clergy at once, like a cloud of bad smelling black smoke. Sadly they are just too comfortable to clear off and leave us all be. When the Great Persecution comes of course they will be long gone. So will the dough be long gone.
They may be making a play too for Catholics in the USA who have pretty well stopped giving since Papa Frankie took centre stage. Liberal Catholics mostly don't bother going to Church. It is the Trads and Conservatives who put their hands in their pockets and these are the very ones Papa Frankie most despised and made no secret of it. I believe at one point he suggested Trads might be mentally ill. As well as that he was very anti American and it showed.
I have heard this before and it is true. It would possibly be a better deterrent than celibacy. I have also heard a story from one monk, whereby they sold their monastery to someone so they could only rent it. They make cash on the crops they raise and any excess goes to feeding the poor. The monastery was losing vocations and was close to dying. Now they have loads of vocations. Also, the faithful are returning and many muslim converts.
Pretty well every religious order I have read off went through a period of utter destitution in which they had to rely totally on God as a kind of test.
Luan had posted and I have seen a couple articles regarding this, that an American Pope was elected for exactly this. All of this was likely made known during the conclave. Trump seemed to have known in advance and was hoping for Dolan to get the Papacy. Funny how it will possibly be American Trads who right the ship. But given how nothing has come out regarding the suppression of the TLM yet I am not getting my hopes up. Given that Pope Francis had communist leanings, it is no surprise that he was happy to make deals with socialist and communist organizations/nations. Probably why the TLM was suppressed, he likely wanted to force them out of the church because he knew they had the resources to right it. He probably wanted to force a trad schism and Fiducis Supplicans was supposed to be the coup de grace.
I think part of the problem was Papa Frankie may have actually watched Conservative and Trad Broadcasters from the USA like Dr Taylor Marshall and the Papal Posse. He was notoriously vindictive and revengeful. This would have driven him nuts. I think it was personal with him. He simply wanted to get even.
It definitely added fuel to the fire. Kind of like Saint John the Baptist chirping the crap out of Herod and Herodias. PF kept moving in the direction of evil and hated it being exposed and resisted. All tyrants hate when they are resisted and exposed.
A interesting perspective. One used by JoeJerk to advance his agenda. Such clergy should be reminded of Acts 4-5: Acts 4:36 ...Thus Joseph who was surnamed by the apostles Barnabas (which means, Son of encouragement), a Levite, a native of Cyprus, 37 sold a field which belonged to him, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet. 5 But a man named Anani′as with his wife Sapphi′ra sold a piece of property, 2 and with his wife’s knowledge he kept back some of the proceeds, and brought only a part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. 3 But Peter said, “Anani′as, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the proceeds of the land? 4 While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? How is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” 5 When Anani′as heard these words, he fell down and died. And great fear came upon all who heard of it. 6 The young men rose and wrapped him up and carried him out and buried him. 7 After an interval of about three hours his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 8 And Peter said to her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much.” And she said, “Yes, for so much.” 9 But Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Hark, the feet of those that have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.” 10 Immediately she fell down at his feet and died. When the young men came in they found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. 11 And great fear came upon the whole church, and upon all who heard of these things. Help us, O Lord, to remain above board in even the smallest of details!
It's interesting that Judas had control over the money for the starting out Church. I wonder how he ended up getting the job? I also wonder if he had not been given this job if he would stuck around? The Vatican Bank has never been anything but trouble. It reminds me of people who leave out pots of honey to attract wasps. I would guess every bad hombre in the Vatican flew towards the Vatican Bank. There is not a day goes by when someone , somewhere is not up in court for stealing Church money and they are just the ones who get caught. I remember one time asking a bus driver, a very good man how he had ended up in prison for stealing a large amount of money from his bus company. He said one day he went to work and had forgotten money for his lunch. He decided to take some of the ticket money and to pay it back the next day. The next day ,seeing that no one noticed he took some more and then this went on for years... The Church itself is a bit like a honey pot for bad people. But once it is poor there will be no more honey and the bad people will fly away elsewhere. . John 12:6 He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.
