Where now are those so quick to excuse Israel's atrocities by quoting God's promise to Abraham "I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you.....". Half the world has yet to be evangelised. Christian Zionists (many Catholics among them) will answer before God for the harm done by their misuse of Sacred Scripture. I know nothing about this man (he's probably not a believer) but he has a point about the countries rushing to put out fires in Israel while obeying Israel's illegal blockade of aid to Gaza. According to him, the settlers had been burning olive groves on Palestinian land in the West Bank, a fire got out of control and spread to non-native pine trees planted by settlers. I don't know whether that's true but he's absolutely right about the hypocrisy of Western governments. Western Christians will never live down their governments' disgraceful complicity in this genocide.
I had never heard of Matt Walsh before you posted that clip from his interview with Tucker Carlson. Then I watched the full interview on Tucker's channel. The interview is worth watching if you have a couple of hours to spare. If so, I'd be interested to hear your take on it. Walsh is Catholic. Most of what he says is solidly Catholic but some of his views didn't seem quite right. I see similarities between his outlook and that of Gavin Ashenden. There's a kind of selfish imperialistic mindset to it - ignore any benefits I've received from the empire's most heinous acts abroad, I have no responsibility for the dreadful consequences to others from those acts and don't want to hear about them because it might force me to face up to my obligation to be part of the solution and my little hurt is all important. It's a Me Fein attitude which isn't really Catholic.
I understand how it looks like this, but it is more of a backlash against all the forever wars that the US has been in, while the citizens of the US haven't really been taken care of itself. I am not saying it is a great position, but essentially everyone has government fatigue, middle east fatigue and just doesn't have confidence in their government to do the right thing anymore. None of the consequences of these forever wars have been good.

Imagine yourself as an American right now that has woken up to the fact that you have slaved away most of your life to feed a war machine. This war machine has done nothing but cause pain and suffering throughout the world. Meanwhile all of your cities are full of homeless people and the infrastructure is crumbling. Everyone is tired of it. I am not saying I fully agree with the position, but I understand where it is coming from. It is not a mindset of American imperialism. It's a mind set where you want to try something else, like not get involved in all of these conflicts.
I only come from a very tiny island, Ireland. But I do wonder what it might to be like to come from a really big, powerful country like the USA, Russia or China. To love your country, I think, is a very right thing. Its right up there after loving God and family. To love Ireland is good. But we have never really invaded another country and the only time we went to war with another country , England, it was because they were actually on our soil and we wanted our freedom. It's only quite recently I understood because it has become so obvious that we are not a free country. We are in the control of elites who are themselves controlled by Global Elites who are satanic and have their own agenda. We are controlled by forces like the Mass Media . People really are like sheep and do not like to really think too much about things. Thinking induces discomfort and pain and the realisation that the only way to shake off the shackles and do something about it. One of the very good things about the Internet (and there are very many bad things) is that it really does give the chance for Free Speech. Truly Free speech and this has been a great blessing. In the USA Trump was seen as someone fighting against so many Satanic Agendas one of which was the never ending wars in which generations of young, patriotic Americans were and are constantly spilling their blood. But why then should Americans fight and die for a foreign land Israel? Why send huge amounts of money to keep what is basically a settler State afloat? The answer,very sadly is that the Zionists through APAC control both the Democratic and Republican Parties. Miriam Adelson on behalf of APAC gave Donald Trump $100 million to get him elected. Now he is coming through for her/them. How is any of this putting America first? It is putting Israel first. All this reminds me why I have turned so totally to God. It's always been like this as far as I can remember where the US never really puts its priorities in proper order. Israel, as you mentioned, is a great example. Something like a quarter million people have been killed in the last seven years by fentanyl alone. But for whatever reason the US gives Israel close to 4 billion a year, and over the lifetime of Israel roughly 300 billion. Getting Fentanyl out of the US should be a top priority when it comes to funding. Giving Israel funding shouldn't even be happening. If that 4 billion went to getting rid of fentanyl instead of Israel, the US would be way better off and not just in terms of lives. I have heard for every dollar spent on illegal drugs costs something like one hundred to tax payers. Prisons, courts, police, hospitals, insurance costs and so on. This is only one example, there's hundreds of them.
