Who was it that said that 'the prospect of imminent death concentrates the mind'?

Narcissists. Their delusions have to take front stage, no matter what the situation, so that they can remind us that they are superior to God.

Who am I to judge Pope Francis and I'm trying not to but I am left very disappointed about many things , about the state of the Church and the situation of loss of faith in my nation. We witness the soaring abortions which are carried out in our hospitals, the breakdown in marriage and the percentage of couples now getting married without sacraments, etc. None of these ills are ever mentioned in our churches. I think priests are not allowed to speak of such ills. They can preach heresy. That's fine, Bishops never seem to take notice of that. Honestly I feel we are lost at the moment. Today is Divine Mercy Sunday.
All I can say is Jesus I Trust in You.

Cardinal Müller is obviously more reserved in his statements compared to Bishop Athanasius Schneider (there is probably no German bishop I appreciate more). But my perception of Cardinal Müller has always been that he remains faithful to the essential aspects of doctrine.
Since Germany is probably the most religiously degenerate country, I am glad about the handful of steadfast bishops.

I have a strong feeling this person may well be our next pope or maybe its because I am in malta that I'm thinking this but it's not a good feeling please God I am wrong.

Also I was furious of the pictures of trump and zelensky sitting in rome it looked like a confession scene total mockery

Considering all that Germany has been subjected to, since the Reformation, through the 'Enlightenment' and into the horrors of the last century, and that the present Church in Germany operates a kind of simony system, it's amazing that there are any real Catholics left.

There are various reports that Zelensky has modified his stance and that a proper, strategic and long-term peace agreement might now be on the table. It looked inappropriate to me, but if the fruits are good...

I think any other potential pope is preferential to Cardinal Parolin. Though, I'd prefer Muller or Sarah.

I want a Pope who isn't nice. One who doesn't care if people groan and cry when they are told the truth. I want a Pope with a big heart and a big faith.

Zelensky speaks English, and it is easier to listen than it is to speak a second language. Trump was likely doing all the talking. Also, it was the Cardinals for whatever reason who brought out the chairs and tables, which is absolutely incredible to me.

Sarah (y) It could be time for the first African pope.
Or how about a spectacular variation, what if the Holy Spirit conjures up the name of a simple priest on the ballot papers. I know a 33-year-old (TLM) who would convert the world with his saintly aura. Unfortunately his name is not Peter :D
A mediocre pope would surprise me a little. I think he will either be very good or very bad. Since the first steps towards The Triumph appear to be recognisable at one point or another, I believe and hope for a very good pope. But I'm relaxed, the salvation plan is in place.

My inclination is to consider more of the same in regard to conclave outcomes, but my prayers are for the exact opposite. It's like my brain and heart are at war!:(

The reality is we all need mercy. And if we want mercy at our death we need to give and pray for mercy for others.

It's out of our control and will probably be a surprise. I am just going to wait and see and pray for a Good Holy Pope. :)
