America is just the next 'Rome' to collapse because of her arrogance and false pretense. :(

Jon, this is very perceptive stuff! I've got to reread Belloc as its been a long time. The phony foreign policy narrative is in high gear and could be best seen during the Syrian debates here in the USA. Everything is now a matter of "national security" and has reached absurd proportions. I believe much of this is distraction so folks don't focus too intently on the underlying problems (social, economic, etc).

I also agree with your statements about the worship of militarized law enforcement -- you could not be more correct! This narrative is being fed by the mass media to a degree I don't ever recall witnessing before.

Well, I don't know that I can say Obamacare will lead to civil conflict, but it is just another example of the federal government treading on the rights of the people. I've long been saying to people who would listen that the arc of political discourse for the past 10 years or so has really taken a turn for the worse here in the USA. Just recently, a U.S. senate democrat warned of this: http://www.nationaljournal.com/congress/senator-says-politics-have-reached-civil-war-levels-20130927

Now he is probably saying this as much for political theater as anything else in an attempt to blame the republicans --but, his comment could be prescient too.

Let's be serious here. *Obama* is a Marxist and he is implementing its agenda to the letter of the law. Obamacare is just one essential aspect of his end game. Anyone who thinks he is just and idiot is sadly mistaken. He knows exactly what he is doing to destroy capitalism, freedom and the Judeo/Christian religion in the US.

I think the mistake here is to attribute this to Obama individually. He does not own the end game, he is just a big, willing participant (and a messianic figure to those that have been seduced).

  7. FEMA is an essential job in the U.S. Govt. ALL essential jobs will be ok. That means post office workers, Rail road workers that are essential and many more will keep their jobs. National Parks, Museums, etc. will lose their jobs. My Brother in law will lose his, my husband will keep his....

Will this cause civil war? ALREADY--OBAMACARE is refusing to allow children with diseases that can be diagnosed by genetic testing to be able to get the proper genetic testing. They are being refused genetic testing (when before it was allowed by insurance) to pinpoint which genetic disease it is, then once its diagnosed, they can take the meds needed for that particular disease. CHILDREN ARE BEING REJECTED FOR GENETIC TESTING...

BECAUSE THEY ARE CHILDREN. EXPENDABLE, AND HAVE FATAL DISEASES THAT ARE EXPENSIVE. They are starting from the bottom up and the top (the elderly and infirm) down. ALL THOSE in between, better stay healthy!

Civil war?? WHAT WOULDN'T A PARENT DO FOR HEALTHCARE FOR THEIR CHILD???

Will OBAMACARE start a civil war? You bet! First, it is trashing the bill of rights, out the window. Feel good about paying for somebody to get an abortion. Forget about the state inteferring with your faith. Old and sick, death panels will simply give them a nice injection. Mark of the beast, get ready it's in there. Ready to be a slave of the state, no, too bad it is almost time. What's in the bill, no one knows except what's in the Book of Revelations. Time to get ready!

  10. About half of the Defense Department's civilian employees would be furloughed in case of a shutdown. Photograph: Mladen Antonov/AFP/Getty Images
The increasingly likely shutdown of the US government could have far-reaching effects throughout the US. If Congress fails to reach an agreement to avert a shutdown by midnight ET Monday, some services – mail delivery, Social Security and Medicare benefits – would not be affected. Others, like national parks and routine safety inspections of food, would be curtailed as the majority of federal employees tasked with their operation would be furloughed.
A look at how a shutdown could affect other services across the federal government:
    Federal workers:

About 800,000 federal employees could see their paychecks jeopardised. Already hit hard by several unpaid furlough days caused by sequestration this year some workers have begun lobbying to receive back pay in the event of a shutdown. While Congress agreed to retroactively pay them during previous shutdowns, the fractured nature of this Congress makes such a step unlikely.
    US military

The military's 1.4 million active-duty personnel would stay on duty, but their paychecks would be delayed. The US House proposal to delay Obamacare for a year – passed early Sunday morning but almost certain will be killed in the Senate – included a provision to ensure troops' paychecks continue.
About half of the Defense Department's civilian employees would be furloughed.
    Science

Nasa will furlough almost all of its employees, though it will continue to keep workers at Mission Control in Houston and elsewhere to support the International Space Station, where two Americans and four others are deployed. The National Weather Service would keep forecasting weather and issuing warnings and the National Hurricane Center would continue to track storms.
    Travel

Federal air traffic controllers would remain on the job and airport screeners would keep funneling passengers through security checkpoints, though some airports have warned of delays at security. Federal inspectors would continue enforcing safety rules.
The State Department would continue processing foreign applications for visas and US applications for passports, since fees are collected to finance those services. Embassies and consulates overseas would continue to provide services to American citizens.
    Courts

Federal courts would continue operating normally for about 10 business days after the start of a shutdown, roughly until the middle of October. If the shutdown continues, the judiciary would have to begin furloughs of employees whose work is not considered essential. But cases would continue to be heard.
The US supreme court is scheduled to begin its new term on October 7. In previous government shutdowns, it continued to operate as normal.
    Mail

Deliveries would continue as usual because the US Postal Servicereceives no tax dollars for day-to-day operations. It relies on income from stamps and other postal fees to keep running.
    District of Columbia

The city, which does not have autonomy over its own budget, briefly flirted with the idea of using the potential shutdown to make a stand when mayor Vince Gray moved to designate all city employees "essential," thereby avoiding the cuts in services like libraries that were expected. Some District politicians were willing to go so far as to get arrested over the show of defiance, but on Friday the city's lawyers approved using a $144m contingency fund to make up the difference if the federal government funds dry up.
    Homeland security

The majority of the Department of Homeland Security's employees are expected to stay on the job, including uniformed agents and officers at the country's borders and ports of entry, members of the Coast Guard, Transportation Security Administration officers, Secret Service personnel and other law enforcement agents and officers. US Citizenship and Immigration Services employees would continue to process green card applications.
    Veterans services

Most services offered through the Department of Veterans Affairs will continue because lawmakers approve money one year in advance for the VA's health programs. Veterans would still be able to visit hospitals for inpatient care, get mental health counseling at vet centers or get prescriptions filled at VA health clinics. Operators would still staff the crisis hotline and claims workers would still process payments to cover disability and pension benefits.
But those veterans appealing the denial of disability benefits to the Board of Veterans Appeals will have to wait longer for a decision because the board would not issue any decisions during a shutdown.

  11. My son just left for his 4th tour in Afganistan on Friday....NOW HE WON'T GET A PAYCHECK WHILE HE LEAVES HIS WIFE AND THREE CHILDREN AT HOME...! THIS sucks.

All because of Obamacare. The lies are shoulder deep. God have mercy. If I didn't have God, I'm not sure I could trust myself. I pray for those who can't buy oil/utilities/food/diapers/formula/pay their house pmt. this month/gas for their car/etc. and its only getting colder outside and Christmas is coming. ....

  12. LORD, BLESS MY ENEMIES
    By St. Nikolai of Zicha
Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not curse them.
Enemies have driven me into your embrace more than friends have. Friends have bound me to earth, enemies have loosed me from earth and have demolished all my aspirations in the world. Enemies have made me a stranger in worldly realms and an extraneous inhabitant of the world. Just as a hunted animal finds safer shelter than an unhunted animal does, so have I, persecuted by enemies, found the safest sanctuary, having ensconced myself beneath Your tabernacle, where neither friends nor enemies can slay my soul.

Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not curse them.

They, rather than I, have confessed my sins before the world. They have punished me, whenever I have hesitated to punish myself. They have tormented me, whenever I have tried to flee torments. They have scolded me, whenever I have flattered myself. They have spat upon me, whenever I have filled myself with arrogance.

Bless my enemies, O Lord. Even I bless them and do not curse them.

Whenever I have made myself wise, they have called me foolish. Whenever I have made myself mighty, they have mocked me as though I were a dwarf. Whenever I have wanted to lead people, they have shoved me into the background. Whenever
I have rushed to enrich myself, they have prevented me with an iron hand. Whenever I thought that I would sleep peacefully, they have wakened me from sleep. Whenever I have tried to build a home for a long and tranquil life, they have demolished it and driven me out. Truly, enemies have cut me loose from the world and have stretched out my hands to the hem of your garment.

Bless my enemies, Ο Lord. Even I bless them and do not curse them.

Bless them and multiply them; multiply them and make them even more bitterly against me: so that my fleeing to You may have no return; so that all hope in men may be scattered like cobwebs; so that absolute serenity may begin to reign in my soul; so that my heart may become the grave of my two evil twins: arrogance and anger; so that I might amass all my treasure in heaven; ah, so that I may for once be freed from self-deception, which has entangled me in the dreadful web of illusory life. Enemies have taught me to know what hardly anyone knows, that a person has no enemies in the world except himself. One hates his enemies only when he fails to realize that they are not enemies, but cruel friends. It is truly difficult for me to say who has done me more good and who has done me more evil in the world: friends or enemies. Therefore bless, Ο Lord, both my friends and my enemies. A slave curses enemies, for he does not understand. But a son blesses them, for he understands. For a son knows that his enemies cannot touch his life. Therefore he freely steps among them and prays to God for them. Bless my enemies, O Lord .Even I bless them and do not curse them.

...And the Boston police were not only heralded for imposing martial law and violating the rights of the citizens, the people lined the streets and literally applauded and cheered as the police "paraded" past to soak up the false hero worship.

    Here's another weird example:
I have a good friend who lives in Orange County California. He has been lamenting the encroaching police state in California for years (many incidents of police murder and brutality). Well, it isn't just the police.
    • Two years ago, he took his dog to the vet for a rabies shot, and he made the "mistake" of providing his real name and address, and the dogs name "Petey" to the vet. Well, the next year, he received several notices that he owed $350 now to register his dog for the subsequent year. When he didn't respond in time, they actually had some sort of pet licensing enforcement agent begin following him to the dog park in attempts to catch him, and they also staked out his house. On one occasion, his teenage son was the only one home, and when his son took the dog out for a walk, the agent jumped from behind the bushes where he had been hiding and yelled "Hey! Is that Petey?", "I should take you in right now!" The son acted like he didn't know what he was talking about and locked himself back in the house.
    • and the saga continues...
Can you believe a bankrupt state like California has the budget to have people like this on stakeouts for weeks to extort exorbitant licensing fees, from a single person? The fees probably are the very revenue stream that allows these guys to work such overtime, collecting fees! Just like the county sheriffs that line Interstate 94 through the two southern most counties in Wisconsin, every day, running the speed trap gauntlet, shift after shift, writing citations to collect fees (almost like new taxes), to pay their salaries, and keep the number of police positions steady or growing. It's like they are a profit center, and if they grow revenue, they probably get to grow the "staff"....

While we all know enough not to believe the msm, I would also be careful about listening to too much talk radio. When it comes down to it, this is a spiritual battle at the core, and I think prayer and keeping our eyes open to the signs of the times is a better use of your time than listening to Michael Savage, Info wars, etc. I'm sure there is some truth to what those sources say, but I don't think it is all truth. I used to listen a lot of talk radio and it would just wind me up and stressed me out. Probably better to pray a ton and not believe everything coming from those sources.

Having said that, I'm not niave, and of course I believe the one world gov't is coming. I see the communism infiltrating the US and ALL the elites are to blame. I have huge concerns over the militarization of local police forces/agencies, and have huge concerns about the collection of data the government is doing on everything we do on the internet and our cell phones, gps systems, automated highway toll devices, what we buy in supermarkets, online purchases...it's endless the info the gov't is collecting and it's scary! Soon it will be used against us individuals.

Obamacare I think will be one of the ways the US falls into civil war. Once people start signing up for it, they won't want it since it's more expensive than advertised, requires a ton of personal information be revealed to the gov't and kept on unsecure databases, will lose their doctors...and that's just the beginning! So, the people will revolt against this bill, but it's the law of the land and will be enforced on us. Below is an article on just the technical issues for obamacare.

Potatosack. I do not believe it is the government behind the lies of those events but a larger more sinister hidden force. It is the government and media that hides people behind the curtain that wish to be hidden. And we all know who they work for.

As for the talk of the chip or mark of the beast. Do you really think the mark is something man made and tangable or more something spiritual. I am more thinking along the lines of what Mary told Father Gobi about Revelations and what she said the mark of the beast was. I don't think the bible really means tangible man made goods when it speaks of things but more larger spiritual ideas. What is marked in our hearts, hands and heads and not something like an implantable chip (which I would never get by the way but that is because of my own beliefs that my body is mine and Gods and no man will ever tell me what I can and can't do with it!!)
