The bishops, at least in some cases, seem to have a problem with personal celibacy and there are few in the West who don't have a problem with personal poverty (although they never stop talking about it) and their idea of obedience seems to apply only to the laity.

Exactly, they have dirt on many of the bishops which means they are controlled. Which explains how many controversial prelates were bumped up. It also explains why some are given a larger voice than others. Why church authorities march in lockstep with globalists in regards to everything. Essentially the "deep church" is the "deep state".

I read recently that diocesan Priests do not take a vow of poverty. They can accumulate as much wealth as they want and keep inheritances, etc. It is the Priests from a religious order who take the vow of poverty and cannot own 'stuff'. except books and clothing, etc. Necessities.

I am so distressed at Israel bombing Gaza and killing more innocents. I don't understand it, I was so hoping for peace in the Mid east.
Yesterday our weather was in total turmoil . . .started out sunny and in the 70's, then thunderstorms with big winds moved in. And snow this morning. Lots of cars in NE Indiana and Ohio were covered with pelts of dust from the dust storms out west, we never saw that before. Still very windy today.

Distressed is an appropriate word choice. All of these events are distressing.

In Ireland the centuries of persecution seemed such a total defeat and Protestantism seemed to be in the ascendent everywhere. It was only when you looked at things a little closer that you would begin to see something different. The great mass of the Irish people clung very tightly to their Faith. Persecution made it stronger not weaker. When eventually the chains dropped off it burst into fire and the Irish spread the Faith all over the World.

Perhaps in China it is the same. On the surface it looks like the Church is being battered to death . But when we look a little closer we see that the Church is spreading with great force. The Communist Party itself has died to be replaced by a group of evil old men who simply cling to power for powers sake. One day the chains will drop of the Catholic Church in China and it too will resurrect as it did in Ireland.

Perhaps something the same is happening in the USA_since the 1960's they were heading in a radical progressive direction culminating in the Woke madness of rosary beads Biden. But it all suddenly collapsed like a House of Cards and it is as though a Great Giant has awoken from slumber.

The same thing with our Holy Mother the Church from the 60's culminating with Papa Frankie. But again if you look under the surface amongst ordinary Faithful Catholics , most especially the young there seems to be again the chains thrown off and a great awakening.

I love what Billy Graham said that he had read the Bible to the end and it all works out well there.

We know Christ has won the victory, everything else including the evil Chinese Government are just part of a mopping up operation. The only reason these wicked old men keep power is economic stability and the Chinese economy is going down the tubes. I suspect another Revolution will be in play soon. In either case its all a House of Cards and will come to an end some day.

Bless him for this. No matter what people say about him this is such a good thing. If he does nothing else good during his Presidency this alone would make it all worth while. May God Bless and reward both himself and his family and his party for doing this. A huge win for America and the entire World.

So cool to see this on my local news. Father Cleves, is a wonderful priest. He speaks 7 different languages! I worked with his sister for about 15 years. In my diocese we have a replica of Notre Dame and we would be able to get private tours of the cathedral with Father Cleves for some clients who really wanted to know more about the church. I spend every good Friday at this church and was also where I was baptized.

Just looked into the church that has the potential miracle. It is about 30 miles from me and what is really cool about it, is a story I told years ago when I was praying on the possibility of there being places of refuges. As I was praying and asking God about whether these places were real, a huge bolt of lightening struck and then thunder. As soon as I looked on the weather map to see the storm, the first town I saw was New Marion, Indiana. I thought this was really odd. This town stands at the gate to a private National Wildlife Refuge called the Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge. When you explore the area around it, it is surrounded by Catholic churches which is rather odd since this is rural Indiana. Another town right by it is called Canaan. In the refuge is a place called St. Magdalen which was an old town that is no more but so odd that this town is inside the area and just to the west is San Jacinto. Now just to the north we have this church with the alleged miracle. When you explore the refuge a bit more, you see an airstrip in it as well as a very interesting road designed in the shape of the star of David. Other churches surrounding the area are St. Ann's, St Mary's, St. John's, Immaculate Conception and Prince of Peace. Again, this is rural Indiana and yet the area is surrounded by Catholic churches. Most rural places around these parts would not have so many Catholic churches. This is protestant country. There are no such thing as coincidences!!!

Not to burst anyone's balloon, and perhaps I am wrong but I think the local diocese a few days ago ruled that this was not a miracle. I think if was supposed to be a very rare bacteria which produced the red kinda blood effect.

But the picture is cool it reminds me of the stained glass in Oxford University Anglican. Church in England.
