No, leukemia is a blood cancer. This is more like anemia from blood loss, and is common in his situation:

It could cause bleeding around the infected areas in his lungs.

My friend Paul here where I live has a brother living in South America who is a priest in a religious order. His brother just talked to their global superior in Italy, who is an Argentinian with good contacts in Rome, who said word there is the pope will not make it through the night.

I wonder if they might be hiding his sepsis condition, even though the pope himself requested transparency regarding his health status.

    That would explain the thrombocytopenia.

Prayers, let us remember that Gods mercy and forgiveness is pure may the Holy Spirit come to his aid.

Me neither. If the anti christ is indeed a person this man does not fit the description traditionally associated with him.

He is crass, rude, vulgar, given to sudden bouts of violent aggressive behavior and angry verbal outbursts.

Fulton Sheens description below. Does it sound like the current pope at all?

Nowhere in Sacred Scripture do we find warrant for the popular myth of the devil as a buffoon who is dressed like the first “red.” Rather is he described as an angel fallen from heaven, and as “the Prince of this world” whose business it is to tell us that there is no other world. His logic is simple: if there is no heaven there is no hell; if there is no hell, then there is no sin; if there is no sin, then there is no judge, and if there is no judgement then evil is good and good is evil.

    But above all these descriptions, Our Lord tells us that He will be so much like Himself, that he would deceive even the elect-and certainly no devil we have ever seen in picture books could deceive even the elect. How will he come in this new age to win followers to his religion? He will come disguised as the Great Humanitarian; he will talk peace, prosperity and plenty not as means to lead us to God, but as ends in themselves He will write books on the new idea of God to suit the way people live;

I posted a reply to HH on Friday night, in anger at what Pope Francis has done. It was too hard, although on review the following morning I didn't think it untrue. Still, I deleted it.

However, although my emotions are calmer as I type this, it is still shocking that in recent years we have had such a complete failure by our official Church in standing up to the 'filth', perversions and abominations being shoved down our throats by the governments of the West, to the extent that the governments of Russia and China seem the less immoral. On the contrary, the official Church under Pope Francis has lent support and succour to these demonic policies. It has got to the stage that we have to rely on lay politicians such as President Donald Trump and his very commendable Vice-President, JD Vance, to stand up for what is right and sane.

Pope Francis, even if he repents in his present agony (and let's pray he does and that his earthly sufferings are relieved), will have a lot of temporal punishment to endure in Purgatory for the damage he has caused, it's hard not to think...yet, there is the danger they will quickly make him a saint.

Let us pray for a great, traditional successor Pope.

Pope Francis may well avoid purgatory altogether because there will be a priest or Bishop on hand to give him the Apostolic pardon. Just pray that if he doesn't recover the next Pope won't be one that we deserve.

Pope Francis has asked Catholics to pray for him, as he continues to receive treatment in hospital for double pneumonia.

The pontiff was unable to deliver the traditional Angelus prayer in person for the second Sunday running.

But in a message written over the last few days, he said he was "confidently continuing" his hospitalisation at Rome's Gemelli Hospital and "carrying on with the necessary treatment".

The message comes after the Vatican revealed on Saturday that the 88-year-old's condition continues to be "critical".

In his message, released on Sunday, the Pope thanked the doctors and health workers at the hospital, and well-wishers who sent in messages.

"In recent days I have received many messages of affection, and I have been particularly struck by the letters and drawings from children," he wrote.

"Thank you for this closeness, and for the prayers of comfort I have received from all over the world! I entrust you all to the intercession of Mary, and I ask you to pray for me."

Well-wishers have continued to pray outside the hospital.

I confess that I didn’t quite understand. Were these words written days ago for the Angelus, before yesterday’s worsening?
