Remembered you all at Adoration today 12 to 1.

 

I remember one saint who saw Our Lady and that she said the prayer,

'Oh Mary conceived without sin pray for us who have recourse to thee!',

...was her favourite and prayer and she loved it when people said it. But then years later I read of another saint who said that another prayer was Mary's favourite, so who knows?

But my guess would be that it is Mary's favourite. Why? Well it was through this Mystery that everything else that came followed. It is the doorway through which everything else came about. The Gateway of Salvation.

At Christmas and Easter Heaven and Earth rock with Celebration. At Christmas the Hallmark is Joy. It would be easy to imagination on Christmas Night looking up and seeing the heavens fill with joyous angels. At Easter everything is cleansed and filled with light.

The Great Marian Feasts too have their own heavenly dimensions. For me the Feast of the Immaculate Conception is filled with a kind of stunned heavenly amazement and joy. As though the angels were saying to God in delight, 'What did you just do?'

'Raise up your heads, then, ye children of Adam, and shake off your chains! This day the humiliation which weighed you down is annihilated. Behold! Mary, who is of the same flesh and blood as yourselves, has seen the torrent of sin, which swept along all the generations of mankind, flow back at her presence and not touch her: the infernal dragon has turned away his head, not daring to breathe his venom upon her; the dignity of your origin is given to her in all its primitive grandeur. This happy day, then, on which the original purity of your race is renewed, must be a feast to you. The second Eve is created; and from her own blood (which, with the exception of the element of sin, is the same as that which makes you to be the children of Adam), she is shortly to give you the God-Man, who proceeds from her according to the flesh, as He proceeds from the Father according to the eternal generation.'

No need to thank me. I went again today — so happy to be well enough to go visit Jesus. Not many parishioners seem to know about the 12 to 1 hour. I was alone.
We have the monstrance containing Jesus inside - hard to explain- and we just open the doors and turn on the light and light the candles beside it. Someone came at 1. I remembered you to Jesus .
It was in front of Jesus that I asked for my daughter to have a baby girl as s,he had all boys and the youngest was 9 and she was 40. She was So Surprised. This baby has now just turned 18 months and sweet. She knows all her colours.The boys LOVE her!!!and her Mom is so grateful to have a daughter.

 

When I was ordained a deacon, the Women's Guild in our parish gifted me with a beautiful Marian stole. There are not too many occasions it is suitable to wear it, but today in the celebration of Mary's Immaculate Conception, I did. Usually a deacon's stole is covered for the most part by the dalmatic, but when I wear this stole, I do not wear the dalmatic over it. At times, I want to remind the ladies how much I appreciate it!

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

That's so wonderful, Rory! She is blessed to have a mom like you. Since God hears your prayers, could you pray for me to have a little girl too? My one daughter has been begging for a sister for years. She's surrounded by boys.
