God's Will. Active or permissive. I think we wait onGod. "Pray hope and don't worry"

Trump is not our God. Life will not be better "under Trump". We are not under Trump. This is a false ideology too many Christians are falling for. It has all the ear markings of those who will fall for the future antichrist. It almost makes me think this is sort of a precursor antichrist. So many Christians putting their faith In world leader who isn't even a Christian let alone Cstholic, as this champion of our faith. So dangerous it's scary.

1st Epistle of St Paul to Timothy
    Chapter 2
1 I desire therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men: 2 For kings, and for all that are in high station: that we may lead a quiet and a peaceable life in all piety and chastity. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth

Even though I think Trump is better than Harris, I wholeheartedly agree with you on this point.

This is a very complex topic. However, one phenomenon is noticeable, and that is that society as a human race, at least in the West, has reached a certain peak in "having the material" and we have lost the spiritual. At the moment, there is no ruler who can fulfill what people are looking for. We can talk about reforms, a better economy, higher salaries and the like... However, none of this will satisfy people and it is clear to everyone that the source of dissatisfaction is something else.

People have never lived better, we belong to the 0.0001% of the world's population in its history where we have never had more in terms of food, clothing, comfort of life, health and the possibility of getting treatment, hard work, rights, etc. Well, people in the West, at the time when some of you were born, were happy when they had food on the table, we are talking about the richest countries in the world at that time. Half of the families in the West, not in Africa and Asia, but in European countries 80 years ago were dying of disease, there was great poverty and a ruined Europe was just being built, fear of communism, if you had a T-shirt and shoes you were happy, and many in the Eastern Bloc were barefoot...

And what happened, despite so much progress we are still dissatisfied, in that process for the material and physical and technological we neglected God, or rather we rejected God. We are constantly running, we are constantly in a panic, fear for tomorrow, for family, for work, for safety, for various disasters and catastrophes whether natural, economic, health(COVID) or wars. Technology and the internet have filled our time, but we have lost relationships with other people, face-to-face contact which is God's plan for every person because we are created in the image of God. We were created for each other to be there and build community, and unfortunately today we often destroy.
We have also distanced ourselves from nature as something that in the society of modern man who unfortunately lives in cities made of concrete and cement for work has remained limited to what is visual and what relaxes him and where he finds peace. City lights and smog limit our view and at night when we catch a little free time that we have, but we can't see the stars that show us the beauty of God's creation rather we hear the sirens of streets, nightclubs and the sounds of cars.
There were moments in the 50s and 60s when the human race made great progress that the generations that witnessed it could describe as trust in politics, especially when looking at the rest of the world, including the communist one when freedoms and rights were trampled and life was killed. However, man as man quickly adapts, forgets how it was, that his rights and what he has are not permanent, we lose gratitude for today and for our life. In the end, we lose the reason why we were created, what we live for and where we are going, and when we lose that, then we lose our entire meaning of existence and our view of God. Such a man will never be joyful, there is no ruler, no matter how honest and just he is, no matter how much material gain he brings, that will fulfill people. Because true joy and gratitude begin in the heart. No saint was materially rich, even if he was, he shared that wealth and was therefore joyful.

Look how many people have been misled to the point of approving even the most outlawed things like LGBT marriages, abortions, euthanasia, and even perversions of children and gender reassignment surgery. This is a much deeper problem than politics itself, and unfortunately also than the upbringing of this society, but a spiritual rebellion against God that always grows from spiritual to physical dissatisfaction and violence.

We live in a spiritual crisis and rejection of God, which we try to solve by electing political leaders who should bring us peace, and this is far from their capabilities.
As Saint Augustine said, my heart is restless until it rests in You.

Imagine how bad it would be with a Harris win.

    A million times worse.

Only the intervention of God can save this planet. There is no political solution to the crisis we are in.

Do you know that factually? No we don't. We all assume but I'm starting to wonder. I'm not sure anything would be worse than Christians turning to a human idol. Trump frankly is an idol for many American Christians

I am not so sure that people are turning Trump into an idol as much as they see him as the answer to their prayers. When things get so bad for so long and there is finally hope they celebrate.

I just checked, I didn't see any idolization. What I do see is a lot of Catholics praising and thanking Jesus in the comments. Lots of mentions of St. Michael and Our Lady.

The idolizing is extensive and it's nauseating. "God anointed Trump for this time". I've seen that one atleast a hundred times..asif people know that God anointed Trump. With that view how would they know God didn't anointed Biden or Harris? They say, well Trump isn't perfect but God uses imperfect ppl and we should just pray for him. You could say exact same thing about Biden or any other politician with that view. No, it's idolizing.

Well he survived two assassination attempts. So there’s that. And I’m hearing they want to stop all funding for planned parenthood. Trump is already bringing peace and he’s not sworn in yet. Bravo.

Hitler survived more assassination attempts than two, so I wouldn't use that as my criteria for determining God's hand in it. I'm givng the guy a chance and hoping for the best, but the idolatry from the right including catholics has me extremely concerned
