Just noticed this. From the Institution that is very publicly associated with sexually abusing children, they come up with what look likes a paedophile's fantasy, designed by a dedicated promoter of sodomy, in order to 'seduce' the young people to the Faith. The image is androgynous, giving a shout-out to the transexuals, has blue hair to attract the lesbians, has a rainbow-coloured rosary to insult Our Lady and comes complete with a satanic stang. The eyes display very disturbing images of clamshells. A quick google-search will tell you that the clam is a symbol of the unity of opposites, 'light and dark, good and evil are intertwined'. Note the Jubilee Logo on the left breast of the mascot's jacket-on this, even the Cross is bent. The actual logo comes complete with colours depicting both the rainbow and various Freemasonic lodges, in a depiction of what is probably intended as an obscene conga line. The first hint of this was when Pope Bergoglio took a witches' stang from a woman wearing a witches' bracelet before the 2018 sodomy synod and brought it into the Mass he said at the opening. All this we are reminded of in Ann Barnhardt's most recent posts. I am often taken aback at some of the things Ann posts, she can be quite shocking...yet, again and again, she turns out to be right. Even if it was a perfectly innocent mascot, devoid of all the satanic symbolism, what an insult it would still be to our 'young people'. Do these geriatric hippies and their few pervert friends think this is going to inspire anyone? A traditional Crucifix, that's all we need. It worked for two thousand years. A final aside: I really appreciate, in times like this, that old Spiritual "Not Water, but Fire, Next Time".
Thank you! I have the same feelings about this. It has LGBTQ written all over it, they are coming after the children. From what I've seen on social media the church of "woke" has of course embraced this thing, People need to wake up, they are leading our youth away from Christ not towards Him.
As someone who’s relatively young and is a convert, this does not attract anyone my age to the Catholic Faith. We’re attracted to the beauty, the tradition, reverence, the Eucharist, Our Lady, the lives of the Saints, the Rosary, etc. All things which the Vatican seems to be ignoring.
FiliMariae, I love conversion stories. Would you mind sharing a little of what brought you to Catholicism? I often wonder how many people are hesitant to convert, given the scandals and division within our hierarchy. You must have been flooded with grace and given great courage to enter into the fray.
If you look at the avatars people pick for themselves on this Catholic/Marian site it tells a story. People naturally choose Catholic symbols that have been around for Millenia. The Cross, Our Lady, pictures of the Saints and so on. The Church is of its very nature very, very conservative. What do I mean by this? It builds on the past, it conserves, it keeps all that is good while renewing and loosing the bad. We only have to visit Rome or Jerusalem to see this even in the very architecture and Liturgies. Its everywhere in our Catholic culture. Its in our Catholic DNA. So when we look at this very modern Japanese type mascot what do we see? Nothing at all that I can tell that is Catholic. You could transpose it quite easily to big organisation like the United Nations, the European Union , Amazon or whatever and it would work very well. The one place it does not work for is the Catholic Church. It all reminds me of some modern Catholic homes I visit and there is not a single Catholic symbol, no crucifix , no statues, no holy water. Nothing. So sad. Matthew 10:33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.
What you say about symbolism is profound and absolutely correct. The picture above is cringeworthy, but if it's true that 'lost little lambs' are being saved, and people are being encouraged to go to confession through this strange imagery, that's not a bad thing, but how very many more would be inspired by the handsomeness of a proper image of Our Lord or the beauty of an image of Our Lady. In fairness to this picture, the worst of the symbols have been eliminated, and to such a degree that I credit it as intentional. No stang, no rainbow colours on the rosary beads, only a hint of the absurd logo and the sinister clams have been altered to look like what I perceive as reflections of light. Even the blue hair doesn't look to me as obvious and the figure is displaying a genuinely attractive joining of hands. Nevertheless, it is a strange confused world we are living in. [Padraig, I hope your place in Spain was unaffected by the rains]. [And what on earth is a "W rizz"]?
"W rizz" is a slang term that means someone has a "winning" ability to attract or chat up a potential romantic interest. It's part of a group of terms related to "rizz", which is a colloquial noun that describes someone's charisma or ability to charm: Rizz: A person's ability to attract or charm a romantic interest W rizz: A "win" in terms of attracting or chatting up someone L rizz: A "loss" in terms of attracting or chatting up someone I see there are at least 95 people dead in Spain because of the, 'DANA'. It reminds me of the tow big hurricanes in the USA. I put the entire cause of these events down to the introduction of abortion. It only hit the southern part of Spain. Galicia in the north has balmy weather at the moment. Over 20C clear skies, no rain.
Thanks, Padraig. In that case, I haven't had to deploy my 'rizz', 'W' or 'L', for a very long time (unless I'm trying to charm the wife, of course)! It's only a matter of time before such chastisements are visited upon Ireland, one would fear.
There are Signs all over Europe and the World in terms of the weather for those paying attention. I see in Japan for the first time in 130 years (since records began ) there is no snow on Mount Fujiyama and Taiwan is being devastated by a cyclone.
No, I don’t mind at all! I was very hesitant to even begin looking into Catholicism because my family comes from a very fundamentalist Protestant background. I believed all sorts of misconceptions (like that Catholics worshipped Mary, or that you could pray people out of hell), but once I was able to see those as false, I actually began reading the early Church Fathers. That was convincing, but I still didn’t want to convert because I knew it was cause a problem in my family. Then I read up on Fatima and Marian apparitions in general and it was the first time that I couldn’t ignore the truth. I was convinced by the message of Fatima to try to pray the Rosary, and when I finally did, I just knew that Catholicism was true. All my doubts and questions were removed and I really felt true peace. I’ve never doubted since. I think that my conversion was a grace obtained by Our Lady’s motherly intercession.
Climate change is such a convenient tool of the elites to explain the extreme weather patterns we are seeing. They are using this to usher in totalitarianism by stealth through green communism. More likely weather swerves are a direct result of human sin and the withdrawal of grace and God's protection.
Yes, its another religion. A new Puritanism. It was the same with the Covid shots. Control, control , control. I notice with young people nowadays they are much more biddable than we were when I was young. If there is a red light they stand waiting even if there is no traffic until the light goes green to walk across. . They don't ask questions from those in authority or the mass media. They just accept everything whole sale. Government is their God. True Faith encourages sincere questioning of everything.
That’s wonderful! I have family members that are fundamentalist Protestants so I know the pressure that places on you. In fact, one feels called to evangelize Catholics in Portugal, Brazil, and the Philippines. I believe that Our Lady is setting a trap to sweep him up in one of the many processions in her honor.
In the Old Testament, God used the weather and elements of nature to punish His people’s disobedience; for example, the catastrophic flood and the 3.5-year drought over Israel, which was foretold by Elijah as a consequence of the idolatry of Baal. Today, we have a kind of environmentalist dogma that ends up taking the place of holy fear of God in human hearts. Here in Brazil, when strong storms occur, there is a traditional custom of burning blessed palms to calm the storm. There is also a family tradition passed down from my maternal great-grandmother to pray a specific formula, which I remember in fragments and that roughly says, "May the Crown of Our Lady be higher than this thunderstorm ... Here in this house live Saint Peter and Saint Paul..." I have no idea exactly when this family tradition began, but I have never found this specific formula online.
Very amazing, here in Mexico everyone prays to San Judas Tadeo (St. Jude) for everything. Patron of lost causes.
