Its wonderful the way you think to pray for your neighbours like his and ask for prayers. Faith, hope and charity combined. I will pray for them both. Thankyou for reminding me to pray for my own neighbours.
I have a neighbour (3 doors away), a devout Catholic and a frequent visitor to Medj. She is bipolar and sometimes would stay alone and indoors for weeks at a time but then a cheerful friendly woman would emerge again. However 2 years ago she suffered financial ruin and the death of her daughter both at about the same time and since then she has never emerged from her home and allows only one close friend to visit. The friend tells us that she will not discuss her problems and that conversation is limited to food and what she has watched on TV. She used to be slim and very well groomed but, when we have caught the occasional glimpse of her, we see someone who is ashen coloured, bloated and unkempt. Please remember her in your prayers.
Oh that is so sad! Maybe a priest could come over and sit with her for just a little while and she would open up.
My prayers and the prayers of others for my neighbour (see entry no. 10 above) have yielded results very recently. After nearly two years of being isolated, never leaving her home and refusing all contact, our neighbour contacted my wife last week by phone and asked for help. Her garden was completely overgrown and she asked if someone could help. We went to make a start and, to our surprise she emerged from the house, made us coffee and even told us a couple of jokes. She has taken a short drive and has sat outside in the sun. She has put on a considerable amount of weight, is as white as a sheet and occasionally bursts into tears but we 'have lift off'. Thanks to all those who contributed to this little miracle.
