I am watching a bus from the guesthouse next door as it loads up with pilgrims leaving. Sweetly sad. The two Irish guys leave this morning and I will be so sad to see them go as they were the only English speaking guests. Also they have been visiting here since 2006 and there is nothing they do not know. I am hoping if they are up soon to see them off. But perhaps they are already gone.

    Sad.

They have a lovely statue and painting of her in the Chapel. I would guess she was a very strong woman who suffered a lot. I will take a picture of it.

I hear the bells from the Church, lovely. I am trying to build up the courage to walk to Mount Krikevac. It is lovely and cool and I love the rain, it reminds me of Ireland.

I had a very restless night last night and dreamed of a friend who died years ago and was totally Godless, he was crying out to me for help. I will pray for him today. He had a very bad lonely death estranged from his family of cancer, poor man. He was quite young too.

Yes Mary I met Finbar a few times during the construction the man responsible for designing building and constructing the roof was Francie Morgan he organised the team and we finished the roof in around 5 weeks sister mels brother also helped out I remember being told that the Chapel was to be a private Chapel for Ivan but not sure if that was accurate I know mel was also building little huts around the site for young people with addiction at the time I was there she had a young nun and a novice with her. God bless her soul

You made it to the top. It's quiet a challenge, more especially on the way down.
You have covered so much in Medjugorje in a few days.

It has started raining Mary, turned cloudy and is cooler

All the same it was an effort. It was over 30 degrees when I got down. I saw a young woman heavily pregnant with her husband and a daughter about three years old starting up. I think that was mad

Padraig, is that big castle that's a free resting place for priests still around and in operation? Have you seen it? When I was there 7 years ago, it was still being built. I took a tour and was so impressed.

I think it is hard to find. I believe I heard some people talking about it last night and it is

It was a very wealthy American couple built it, 20240626_111137.jpg

Yes, it is off the beaten path. We walked through a lot of trees and land with no buildings to get to it.

Oh ok, I didn't realize it had been around so long! Maybe they were just adding a bunch onto it when I was there? It was almost like a labyrinth with all the extra little wings and chapels everywhere. I didn't know it was originally a place for them to retire. I thought its purpose was to be a free hotel/retreat for priests who visit Medjugorje.
