Yes sorry Rodger I did understand your question but I probably wasn't very helpful in my reply the song was written by a cork man so most definitely wrote in the munster dialect however my daughter being an ulster girl she probably sang it with an Ulster dialect to explain better a person from belfast will pronounce things differently than that of a person from Dublin even in English pretty much the same as welsh and Scottish..If your learning Irish I would stick the 1950s standardised version until you grasp it then venture into the different dialects as they will be able to read and understand..hope this helps

Hi Roger, Just to let you know that there is a Latin Mass every Sunday in Kilkenny ( St Patrick's Church College Rd. 5pm).

    First, belated responses:
Thank you, Mario. I am touched as I think you are American? But maybe I'm wrong or you have a special interest in Ireland?

Well, I think I wasn't clear enough in my question! But thank you Quis ut Deus for clarifying your daughter's accent. And despite your good advice, I can't help myself. I want to learn the Ulster dialect. I live in Ulster and somehow its dialect just draws me. The pronunciation seems a bit softer. Something I find attractive. (Not wanting to put the other dialects down though!)

Yes, I've been there! And I sorely wish I could easily get down South again.

With the Vatican threatening to shut down all diocesen TLMs, I wonder if there might be any chance of inviting ICKSP or the FSSP in? Before, alas, it might be too late! I am sorry if this is controversial, negating the good local efforts in Kilkenny. But it looks like we might stand to lose all diocesan TLMs—incuding Harrington Street.

    Seconded!

And now here is another big video I've done on Ireland. I'd like to say the video is very, very visual with dozens of images added. And this time, music! It's easier, I know, for many people to just listen, rather than watch.

Still, I can't help hoping that some of you might watch just the first two minutes. These two minutes are something of a new departure for me—first time I've opened a video with images and music like this.

I would like to announce something here.

My wife Kim and I have not only a New YouTube Episode out, but what is more—actually the first of a whole new series of episodes: "Kim and Roger Buck: Episode One".

For the first time, we're actually talking together on YouTube—though it's voice-only, partly because Kim has eye problems and it's hard to do the camera with her (lighting etc.).

It's taken us by surprise! The original plan was just to interview her, but the more we started talking, the more we both came into it. The final result is maybe 60/40, Kim/me.

And we were so happy with this final result that we've decided to switch from a simple interview thing — to an ongoing series of conversations between us.

This first episode is largely on Kim's Conversion Story— but with a lot about Ireland.

There's also stuff on New Age vs Catholic Spirituality, W.B. Yeats, Maud Gonne, Globalism, Irish Nationalism. Also Gonne's leaving the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn for the Church . . . which disgruntled the pagan Yeats. (A New Ager, I say, "ahead" of his time!)

I also think Kim says deep and really often very beautiful things about the Interior Life of Prayer and her Interior Experience of Ireland. There's her passion for Ireland too, bursting out! The last part feels more "radical", more raw than a lot of what we put out . . .

OK that's a lot! Here is the episode. If any of you see and like it, I'd be grateful for any comments as well as sharing it on Social Media etc. This really feels like not just an episode, but a major new venture for us.

And somehow we do want it known in Ireland. I dare to think it can help here, even if only a very little. So my gratitude for any watching, any comments and any help at help at all letting people, especially the Irish, know about it. Oh I add - any comments on YouTube itself would be especially appreciated.

Just quickly posting New Video that, at first, does not appear to relate to Ireland—but I truly believe it does!

I think it says something truly important in a clearer, sharper, more succinct way than I've ever managed to do! Only 14 minutes! Unusually 'punchy' by my standards.

I have to try . . . because Christianity IS being replaced ... by .

Some good folk speak about Islam being the greatest threat to Christianity . . . without, alas, having the slightest idea of .

I hope just the first 3-4 minutes of this can help show why I would beg to differ . . .

Finally, I just note this short video is highly, highly visual. I can't help but hope it may be seen, rather than simply heard, and that it might be shared with others too. Because relatively few seem really aware of .

I have two more videos up about the New Age that may interest some here. They are each very different and I will post each in a separate post.

The first is unusually short and, by my standards, is, again, unusually "punchy".

It is focussed on the widespread multimillion dollar efforts to re-invent Our Lord as a Buddhist 'Jesus' who didn't suffer the Crucifixion because the Crucifixion was an 'illusion' he transcended etc.

This stuff is HUGE in America . . . working through figures like Marianne Williamson and Oprah Winfrey—of whom there are some clips in this video.

Video is highly visual with all the clips, added graphics etc. (Better seen rather than just listened to, if you have time for that.)

This New Age 'Jesus' stuff is in Ireland . . . coming from America. (I say that as an American in Ireland.) It is important to know about and I think this short video is effective in explaining. I would be very grateful if any Irish people particularly can see it and perhaps share it in Ireland . . .

I will post the other, much bigger, more complex, less 'punchy' video a bit later . . .

I know theravada buddhists would hate on that buddha-jesus stuff, more than christians would. Luckily they're not aware of the american internet (theravada are very puritanical\ Literalist in their religion). ironic
Also, current Dalai Lama said Jesus, Francis Assisi were bodhisattvas which is a buddha-in-training. but it was passing remark with no further influence. these modern cults are lazy:sleep:

Belated thanks for this xsantiagos! Very interesting about Dalai Lama. I need to look into that. Any chance you know where I could find that?

Now I promised above to post the big New Age video later. Took me awhile. But here it is at last . . .

I also have a new episode out about Ireland (in part) discussing the terrible tragedy that has happened here with my dearest love . . .

Would like to place this here too—as I've invested a very great deal into it.

Hardly slept the last days due to working on it . . . Very important to my heart, soul and the work I think I must try to attempt in this precious, precious land . . . even if I'm not Irish.

Too tired to say more now. But I may do, when I'm better rested.

    Was Catholic Ireland Murdered?

    Roger is very perceptive.

There is currently a faithful remnant in Ireland, but even our best friends, Tom and Sue Cunningham, whose 2nd oldest son wed at a castle on the Emerald Isle last year, testified to their disappoint. Secular influences are taking their toll on the Old Sod.:cry::cry:

But this Forum unveils the truth that disappointment will not prove victorious. Rather, the Immaculate Heart will ultimately triumph and we must remain loyally in her Army in spite of the current cloud cover!.

The rot has set in. Ireland has gone to the dogs.

There is however, a very robust but tiny remnant in Ireland that God has raised and there are quite a few saints amongst them.

Hold firm- if David could slay the Giant, a robust remnant can germinate a revival through the Queenship of Mary! :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

I am hopeful. I see many good people attending daily Mass and Adoration every week. There are signs of hope all around. The media are a big problem as they continually spew lies and negativity towards the church. Ireland is a small country with strong community ties. When it started to lose its way it was quick to go but I believe it's resurrection will be quick also. Medjugorje is full of Irish pilgrims. Last year when I was there Dana sang her song on the lighting St Patrick's fire after Sunday Mass. All the Irish broke down crying. Irish people are heartbroken. God will not ignore our tears he will restore what is lost and Ireland will reclaim it's heritage. Continue to pray for this poor country.

There is an interesting segment in Acts when Saint Paul visited Corinth:

    Acts 18:10

    Paul's Ministry in Corinth
…9One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking; do not be silent. 10For I am with you and no one will lay a hand on you, because I have many people in this city.” 11So Paul stayed for a year and a half, teaching the word of God among the Corinthians.…

So the implication here is that God has more friends in some places than he has in others. He must have had many friends in Corinth than He had in others as no one would even try to hurt Paul.

It is the same with Ireland or anywhere else for that matter. Some places are better than others. I travelled round quite a bit in Ireland going to Mass every day you could easily tell every Parish and every Church is different. I would guess as a general rule the rural Parishes are better. Not always but very often. However even the cities there are some very holy hotspots.

One of the best things about being Catholic is that hope always shines bright. Nevertheless Ireland like everywhere else is about to have a huge, huge purification.

Is it a tsunami? I remember in Mount Mellary Our Lady showed the children Noah getting on the Ark with all the animals. If memory serves me she said it would be like those times. People eating and drinking until disaster strikes.

Yes, it appears to be from an asteroid striking the sea in the mid south Atlantic.

But maybe not quite yet. Since all Ireland's major population centres are at the coast it will be very, very bad for Ireland.

I'll have to check the source for a time scale. In a general sense it will be when things are at their worst.

Thank you for all these comments. Briefly now, I just want to reassure you @maryrose and maybe others too that I am NOT giving up hope.

Ireland remains, despite everything, incredibly, incredibly special. No doubt about that. Having lived in 9 different countries, I can honestly say I've seen nothing like it. And I remain very moved by what I see in parishes everywhere in rural Ireland.

But numbers are terribly down, young children are being robbed and brainwashed and this is a far, far cry from the Ireland that I think many of you must remember from when you were young.

We must not give up. We must pray. We must fight.

And by the grace of God I think I am starting to see what I can contribute here better than I did before.

Thank you and bless you all!
