You summed it up well and I agree with you. If the consecration of Russia had been carried out on time, there would have been 150 to 100 million less victims of communism. The entire course of human history was practically changed... If the Jewish leaders and priests had listened to the prophets, and then finally to the son of God Jesus Christ, history would have gone in a different direction. Unfortunately, the Church shows its human imperfection through people, and then we also have the consequences of sin. Everyone has some gifts and we will be held accountable for what we have done. It should also be said that the message of Fatima, Kibeh and other apparitions can be lived daily even without the message of "approval" from the Vatican. Although I am not very familiar with apparitions in Rwanda, I can see that it is: "As early as 1982, an earlier bishop of the diocese, Bishop Jean Baptiste Gahamanyi, already authorized public devotion..." "Augustin Misago, the Bishop of Gikongoro, approved public devotion linked to the apparitions on 15 August 1988 (the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary..." "Pope John Paul II visited Mbare, Kamonyi and Nyandungu. He exhorted the faithful to turn to the Virgin Mary as a "simple and sure guide" and to pray for greater commitment against local divisions, both political and ethnic..." So the Church has indeed given signs and approved messages. The problem is that we all avoid personal responsibility to put these messages into action. This was missed and a penalty followed. I am sorry that I have to write this, but if there had been no genocide and if, for example, there had been a conversion, i.e. if the people had converted and the conflict between the two tribes had been avoided, the apparition would not have been confirmed by the Vatican in 2001. Genocide unfortunately contributed to the Vatican recognizing the apparition. Otherwise, that apparition would be in the same drawer as many that are recognized at the local level by the bishops, but not by the Vatican. In any case, interesting times are ahead. I agree with you and understand the point, I'm just saying that maybe some things are not clear to us now, we should also pray for the priests/bishops because they carry a great burden and have a great responsibility before God for us people who are entrusted to lead us. I think that the basis of future regulations for apparitions will certainly be Garabandal and Medjugorje with all the messages they carry and which must be fulfilled during the life of the seer. In the event that they prove to be false, it will be a terrible blow to the Church and all future apparitions will be under a rigorous magnifying glass.
This is exactly the problem. Recognizing an apparition after the fact is like closing the chicken coup after all the chickens got out. Which to me looks way worse than if a prophecy was recognized before hand and the chastisement doesn't come to pass. As well, while it is good that the local Bishops authorized public devotion, this is akin to a nihil obstat, so messages aren't necessarily promoted. Which lets us know what will happen should Our Lady give any more prophecies. I am glad to know that SJP2 went to Rawanda before the genocide, and appeared to have acknowledged the prophecies. But for anyone who wasn't acquainted with the prophecies, they wouldn't have recognized what he was referring to. Why couldn't he speak directly of them, were his hands tied somehow? I am sure he had remorse over it. https://www.vatican.va/content/john-paul-ii/en/travels/1990/travels/documents/trav_est-africa.html Growing up I never really heard anything in the church regarding Marian apparitions or prophecy. Nothing was disseminated or promoted. So one day when I had an encounter with our Lady I was blown away. Suddenly, what seemed like the distant past became a current reality. I also had no one to turn to regarding the event. Try telling a priest today that you had an encounter with our Lady and see how far you get. It is my personal belief that most people on this board have had encounters too, which is why they are so devoted to her. So when I see our Lady giving warnings for the faithful, which aren't being given the emphasis they deserve, for me it's frustrating. These aren't fairy tales.
It seems, in my opinion, that they are trying to make them look like fairytales... remove the supernatural it seems.
I agree; and I also thought it was leaving the faithful open to “religious deception” which is mentioned in the catechism as one of the signs of the end times. The church doesn’t confirm or deny; hence not protecting us sheep from the deceptive wolves!
A positive sign https://www.pennlive.com/news/2024/...ments-be-displayed-in-all-public-schools.html A bill in Louisiana would require the Ten Commandments to be displayed in all public schools.
Carlos' name is in many of our hearts, so I would not write him off. Ted Flynn says around the 39 minute mark that he also thinks Carlos could be the martyr in question. This is God's great miracle so He probably does have several martyrs for all generations for the big event (wouldn't they all want to be a part of that?). Just you watch so many people and events will line up so beautifully that men could never have imagined the grand perfection of it all.
Agree! He is certainly a Blessed of the Holy Eucharist whether or not he fits the Garabandal definition.
You are right, everything will line up in such amazing ways we will be in fear and awe. We will also likely be surprised at how much we were given and how little we understood the prophecies in advance.
Father Linus Clovis reminds us that Jesus spoke in parables lest the evil understand them It is the same with Marian Secrets. Like the parables they are only meant to be understood by who and when they are meant to. The present day Jews are like this. They are forbidden to read the Prophet Isaiah Guess why.
Lovely. May God bless these good people for doing this. It occurs to me recently that we need more public displays of our Catholic Faith like May and Eucharistic Processions. That we Catholics have been too private in our devotions but this often takes courage and dedication.
Thanks for posting this Jason. Do you know where this is? If near me, I would “pilgrimage” to it and pray a rosary there. I love this … it is a spiritual battle and as we all know, our weapon is rosary. But I love this ending, we need to fly our Standard!
