By the way, I already said that my country was at war in the 90s. We were attacked by the third military power in Europe, an arms embargo was imposed on us. We defended the country, they killed us, raped us, burned our houses and we never once crossed the border or attacked them. We have already gone to war to defend our families, homes and community. People went to war with rosaries, they prayed in the streets, squares, churches, hospitals under sieges. When John Paul II came to the war-torn country in 1994, 1/3 of the territory was occupied, he was greeted by over a million believers, and there were about 4 million of us Catholics in the country.

I never said "Stand with Israel." I never discussed democracy or cited it. Islamic states stand for genital mutilation, forced marriages, honor killings, throwing of homosexuals off buildings (I am NOT pro-homosexual, but anti this kind of murder). Religious leaders issue decrees allowing followers to take women who are not Muslim as sex slaves. All kinds of wickedness. Peace first of all means the inner connection in faith, hope and love of man with God. It is the peace of a soul cleansed of evil. It is the peace of a heart filled with love, forgiveness, reconciliation. Peace means freedom for every person, for every nation, for people and nations to be friends, collaborators, help each other, never a threat, never a source of fear. Peace means justice: to be just in oneself, to be just to others. Peace means security. For that peace, which contains all the values of man and life and coexistence with others, we pray today through the intercession of the Queen of Peace from our Savior Jesus Christ, the Son of God... ...If so much evil, suffering and dying has developed in creation, then the cause is not God, who is Love, but the conscious rejection of God by creation. Why so much hatred against man? In the Nazi camp in Poland during the war, Salesian Kovalski had a rosary in his pocket as a prisoner. That rosary fell out of his pocket in front of a senior guard. When he saw the rosary on the floor, he ordered Kovalski to step on it with his feet. The priest raised the rosary and reverently kissed it. That's why he was kicked with boots for so long until he was dead on the spot. Can we understand this hatred only by human wickedness? Bishop Sloskans in the Soviet Union spent a number of years in Stalin's prisons, tortured in various ways. Once they let 50 hungry rats into his cell to eat him alive. He prayed, and the rats didn't even touch him! Can such cruelty and all the ways people have invented in this century of ours to torture people: to torture them physically, to torture them spiritually, to trample on their hearts and consciences, to destroy all dignity in them? Is this depth of hatred interpretable only by human psychology, only by human wickedness? And how many multitudes and millions have gone through such experiences and destruction? And Dalj with its slaughter, and Sarvaš, and Struga, and Lovinac and so many places today! With how much hatred peaceful populated places are attacked because Croats and Hungarians live in them. Why are churches being targeted? And then, after the defenders retreated and the population fled, why are they mined and set on fire? Can we then deny Satan when he is a murderer from the beginning, from the murder of Abel by Cain, until our days? What has man invented and how much capital has he invested, even in this century of ours, in the infernal instruments of mass murder. How much money, earned by the calloused hands of the workers, was spent on those tanks, planes, rockets and bombs in order to demolish and kill people as successfully and massively as possible? Why is man so against man? Why are hate ideologies always invented? Why are robberies and conquest of other people's spaces always planned? Why are hate mongers so persistent and looking forward to war? All racism, imperialism, chauvinism have always caused and are causing wars. And in order to win over people for slaughter, they are first poisoned with hatred, lies and drunk with anger, and then slogans are inserted: We will raze everything to the ground! Or: We will slaughter starting with what is only one kilo heavy! Do we not see the Dragon in all this? Wanting war, killing, demolishing, destroying the homes of a peaceful population that does not endanger anyone and wants to live in peace with everyone, this is not only human wickedness, it is Satanism! The dragon is at work. And we are exposed to such Satanism today! It is not just an earthly struggle; it is a spiritual battle between good and evil. It's not just a fight against man or people, it's a fight against God himself. The dragon leads that fight, the one who wants to devour the Child: the Dragon of Death! But let's mention here that this Dragon of Death also works hidden, it works quite quietly, it also works in our Croatian nation. Statistics show that 842,000 unborn children were killed in Croatia in just twenty years. How the Dragon is waiting to devour, to kill! Every sinner is in the shadow of that Dragon, because the Dragon is the father of sin. That is why our determination for God, for Jesus Christ, with Mary and with Mary must be expressed by our conversion from every sin, our inner liberation from darkness and works of darkness to come out into the light of God. Love of God is necessarily love of humanity, and love of humanity is also love of country! Therefore, our patriotism must not be poisoned by even a drop of hatred or desire for revenge. Defense of freedom and peace is a right and a duty, but always within the legality of the rule of law. That's why nothing should be done against a human person, or against their property, which would be outside of legal defense and which would only be an expression of hatred and revenge! Therefore, our patriotism must not be racist, imperialist, or chauvinistic. Our patriotism is Christian. Therefore, I repeat what I said recently in Petrinja: If my opponent burned down my house, I will not burn down his! If he destroyed my church, I will not even touch his, in fact, I will protect it. If he left his home, I won't even take a needle from his! If he killed my father, brother, sister, I will not return the same measure, but I will respect the life of his father, brother, son, sister! This is the Gospel, perhaps difficult to understand for a downtrodden and humiliated man, a downtrodden and humiliated people, but this Gospel is a pledge of victory. These must be our principles. These must be our actions because otherwise we too would be victims of the Dragon! Conversion, prayer and fasting are the most powerful tools in the fight with the Dragon! To love the truth, to do good, to do justice, are the laws of God's world in which there is no place for the Dragon. And we want such a world, a world of peace and freedom! We pray for such peace. Sister Sasagawa recently (2019) passed along the Blessed Mother's most urgent message ~ "cover in ashes and pray a penitential rosary every day" and "become like a child; make sacrifices every day" ~ We must take this seriously. I hope his canonization comes soon. What a remarkable speech. Perhaps my simple way to summarize his very elegant words… a true follower of Christ must love his enemy. He must take up his cross and follow. I also would add that I personally think the biggest lie of the devil on a personal basis to each of us … that he whispers in our ear everyday is , God doesn’t really love you. He lies when he says your a sinner and screw up and God does not love you because of your failing. It’s the exact opposite of course… God loves us in our weakness and in our sins. He’s always there for us. I think people fear the loss of Gods live and therefore replace with the worldly idols which do lead to hate.
