Yes, it is. We’ve had “bad popes” in the past. We’ve never had an apostate calling himself pope. I get incensed when people make the claim that these times are no different than difficult times in the past. Hogwash. These times are wholly unprecedented in the entire history of the Church. Future generations will look back on us in wonder, not able to understand why we could not grasp this simple fact.
Was this a formal letter from their archbishop forbidding them to publicly release these messages? Or just a recommendation over tea one afternoon from the archbishop to this priest to… ahem … keep this silly mystical stuff quiet?
The decree is here: https://archsa.org/news/decrees-and-public-statement-in-regard-to-the-mission-of-divine-mercy/
No, I mean prior to this, when they were “told” not to publicize these locutions but did so initially. How exactly were they told? Was it a matter of formal obedience to stay silent on them, or just an informal suggestion?
Fr. Foster said they had not publicized the messages previously out of obedience in his first public video on the messages. The archbishop did not release information on any previous actions or discussions. If you scroll down through the archbishop's decrees, it details exactly what action he took and why. He is focusing on Fr. Foster for releasing the messages. Fr. Foster has information on his position in the video messages. He has not publicly responded to the archbishop's decisions.
My position is simply that these locutions and the locutionist could be legitimate. They cannot be disregarded simply because of the subsequent actions of this priest or his archbishop.
My belief is they cannot be real. God would not have told the seer he wanted the messages out now while Fr. Foster and the apostolate were under orders from the archbishop not to. Further, the group's leader and its mystic both continue to be disobedient, participating in illicit services. Would God have chosen the headstrong and disobedient to pass along a message condemning the pope as a usurper? The moral character of the person claiming messages is the first thing the Vatican looks at when examining 'messengers.'
No, the next step was everyone is a "priest by virtue of their baptism". How many times has that been said in a homily or at a retreat. And taken out of context by many because no context is provided.
Should there not have been a decree ? One was issued in regard to Charlie Johnston, for example. An investigation was done. And it was put to rest.
Fr. Foster said in the first video that they (MDM) were under obedience not to release the messages. From which one infers they were told not to by their superior. The decrees (multiple) after the release of the messages are linked above.
I’m not relying on “the Vatican” to act correctly on anything right now; frankly if these things were taken into consideration by “the Vatican” it would have condemned Medjugorge simply on the basis of the blatant opposition and disobedience to the local bishop, Ivan’s multi million dollar real estate investments in Boston and other visionaries making a lot of money off the travel and tourism industry there, or the forced laicization of the Franciscans who guided the visionaries and coordinated their messages at the start, for instance.
I think that, perhaps, God is directing things (in his permissive will) so that a reunification with the Orthodox will be vital for the survival of the Church when all this storm passes. The dilemma of obedience to the pope was tested almost to the limit of Catholics' emotional stability during this pontificate. Perhaps a hierarchical structure similar to the pentarchy of the early Church (in a sort of concession to the Orthodox) will be needed when this pontificate ends.
I'm confused. Who is God, the Father, giving locution messages directly to? To the two (mystic?) nuns? Or to just one nun? And that Fr. Foster is the spiritual director to both nuns? If so, thought I read somewhere that the nuns don't speak English and Fr. Foster translates the messages to English language? Other thing, I thought I read (or maybe I misread it) in the Bishop's letter he wrote(?) that among in the MDM group... there's only one female who was (no longer) a former nun/sister and that she is biological sister to Fr. Foster? Sorry, I just don't have time now go back to look at and find that section in the Bishop's letter regarding the persons who are all in the MDM group. Maybe someone in this forum could find this section ...copy/paste that section of letter and post here in this thread and along with it to explain.and clarify this to me (& possibly to others) who needs help understanding about these one (or two?) so-called nuns... what is their status or standing? Is she the person who is the locutionist who receives the messages from Our Heavenly Father? Is she also called anonymous? Why as anonymous? Sorry, I'm still on the fence. Especially when 'their' messages is way too long and wordy. So much for the confusion and lies and we know who is the master behind at confusion, division, lies, and etc. Stay focus on Jesus and Mary and pray on our rosary beads. Thanks in advance for if anyone could help me on this. Thanks!
I have been thinking out loud on this topic going back and forth on some things, but there’s no way I agree Pope Francis is not the pope. I believe we have entered the Passion of the Church. The Church is plunged into confusion and darkness, but Our Lord is the head. The Church will arise out of the ashes once again. Regarding the locution, I can’t support any locution that denies the papacy of Pope Francis and is in disobedience. As sticking with teachings of St. John of the Cross. Locutions come from human, Satan or God. Perhaps, these people started off with good intentions and the evil one wormed his way in. It only takes one word or phrase that can be placed in the message from the evil one. Anyway, I just wanted to clarify my position. Though the discussions have been interesting.
I believe Jonah would have obeyed his Rabbi, and begged God for help. Nineveh would have fallen lower and lower while waiting though. Maybe the Rabbi would have told Jonah to forget about it all and be at peace. In which case, God perhaps would have sought elsewhere for a prophet to deliver His message. We don't have Rabbis, we have Bishops. And this is part of their office. And many appear to have just brushed it off because they don't like "doom and gloom". Well, they haven't seen real doom and gloom yet. And I don't say that lightly...... Bishops should be obeyed in all things but sin. Father Ripperger said they need prayers and there is no doubt about that. The sad part is, some could care less if you prayed for them or not. But not all of them. His grace will flow upon those who are willing and open to receive it. Pray mightily for them. And pray these poor Texans can sort themselves out with God in heaven before it's too late, Bishop and flock alike.
It's funny all these things happening in Texas. Bishop Strickland. The Carmelites fighting their Bishop. These messages. The problems on the border. I wonder in all the World ,Texas?
