Maybe both. Things are different everywhere in the world regarding the Church. Reading this forum has proven that to me, anyway. It's obvious the "universal" glue has been changed out for stagnant water in quite a few places, and for literally decades. Having to face that what one was taught to believe may not be so is scary.... And many, including myself, are suffering from a kind of spiritual PTSD. Deep down the truth is obvious, but it's also devastating at the same time.
Fall on your knees and thank God you haven't been taken in by their Satanic crap. They're leading souls by their millions to the very depths of hell
Jesus tested Sr. Josefa Menendez by putting her under obedience to her Superiors concerning the validity of His apparitions to her: “TOWARDS the end of August 1920, in order to try the spirit that actuated Josefa, she was forbidden to have any communication with the apparition that had so often filled her heart with such joy. She was told to turn away, and to attach no importance to anything she might see or hear.” The Way of Divine Love During the course of this excruciating trial she noted: “Already accustomed to the most intimate self-sacrifice and matured by her spirit of faith and obedience, she never hesitated to do as she was told, without allowing herself either to reason or to argue interiorly, and so she entered on the obscure path where her love was to suffer so keenly, as her notes indicate: "Thursday, 2nd of September, I saw at meditation the same Person, so beautiful, with His Heart as before. He asked me twice if I loved Him. I gave no answer, out of obedience, although it cost me immensely, for in spite of myself, my whole soul bounded forward towards Him." And again: “The crucifying trial increased in severity as time went on, and Josepha's fears grew, but her spirit of obedience kept her faithful, and it gradually became evident how Our Lord, by detaching her from created things, was attaching her more and more to Himself.” One more time Sister Josefa begged God in prayer give her Superiors a sign: “The next day, 20th, while her mind was still preoccupied with the same trouble, she begged Our Lord to give a sign to her Superiors, that they might know for certain whether or not these things came from Him. He appeared suddenly and said to her: "A sign? I will give a sign in you. All I ask of you is to surrender yourself entirely to Me." And so it came to pass, for God was imprinting His sign on the docile and generous heart of Josefa, whose obedience throughout this trial was a proof in itself. In spite of the divine advances, she continued to keep silence.” Our Blessed Mother appeared to her and said: “My child, you are not mistaken, and Reverend Mother will soon know it, but you must first suffer if you are to win souls for My Son.' "She disappeared, leaving me in peace beyond all words.” This intervention of Our Lady increased in the eyes of Superiors the light beginning to dawn around Josefa; her simple and courageous obedience, her indifference and abandonment, as well as her humble distrust of herself, her fear of an abnormal path, and above all her love of her vocation, which she held in higher esteem than anything else in the world—all pointed to a heavenly origin in her state; and these signs could not be opposed indefinitely. The time seemed to have come to allow full liberty to the divine action, whilst still surrounding Josefa with vigilant control. She was given permission to "offer herself", and that in spite of her acute repugnance to it.”
This book, The Way of Divine Love, just basically fell into my hands at the book store two days ago, and I felt drawn to buy it immediately. I knew nothing about it...but here is an excerpt from it! I'm excited to read it.
It seems to me that she chose you! On a train ride to visit the Little Flower in Lisieux, a priest saw a copy of The Way of Divine Love in my hands and said that I would be shocked to know just how many priestly vocations this book inspired.
cool! I downloaded it from the internet and read it around 2014. It was very good, it was like a precursor to the Diary of St. Faustina...
This book of her diary is my favorite spiritual book. Jesus impressed on her obedience to her superiors even if it contradicted what He told her. Because her obedience was her only protection against the deceptions of the devil.
More sadness for Mission of Divine Mercy. It looks like the leader, Fr. Foster, has decided to ignore the archbishop's orders. From the mission website: TO ALL ATTENDING MASS AT THE MISSION Due to growing numbers, Sunday Mass will move to Tepeyac Hill starting March 24th. What Our Lady called, “My new Tepeyac.” Plenty of space but limited seating! You might want to bring chairs or blanket, kneeling pad, and water. Please dress appropriately for terrain and weather, but also for Our Lord and the consecrated grounds. Please see our Appropriate Dress Policy. Thank you! Another domino falling...
I just noticed a new video was posted with a fourth message. I wonder what the Archbishop will do, as the disobedience is so blatant.
Apparently there was ongoing dialogue on the messages before Fr. Foster went public. Fr. Foster could be dismissed from the clerical state as a next step. The decision ultimately rests with the pope, but the local ordinary or religious superior initiates the process. If Fr. Foster wished to contest this step, he could hire a canon lawyer to argue his case. However, once the pope makes a decision, it is final. The Archdiocese of Phoenix's newspaper posted an article describing the process and its consequences, https://www.catholicsun.org/2010/02...s-on-being-dismissed-from-the-clerical-state/
I see Robert has posted it. I think given his position he needs to clarify his stance on this very succintly and clearly. The fact is they are acting in complete disobedience. This is the bottom line and never a sign of anything good.
In terms of the Church he has kind of fired all his nukes. He could have recourse to legal action to sieze their property but that seems like a no hoper given that it will be a Texas Court and not a European one, or even a Democrat Judge.
Looks like Fr. Foster does not want the "Cross" and the suffering that comes for being disciplined by his superior, instead goes for disobedience for temporary convenience...
