    Humans are aggressive by their nature, but religion, and not just Christianity, usually tends to curb our most aggressive impulses. Among the major religions, Islam is an exception. It considers the world that is occupied by Muslims as the 'world of peace', but the rest of the world is considered the 'world of war' (for the life of me, I can't remember the Arabic terms). The meaning is that Muslims believe they must wage war on the latter, when conditions permit, until the whole world is Muslim.

    Not long after the death of Pope St Pius X, the Muslim Ottoman Empire waged genocide upon its Christian Armenian minority, murdering one and a half million of them. Do you not consider this somewhat aggressive?

    Oh thank God we have our own Holy Father, the Vicar of Christ, from the See of St Peter, our very own dear Pope Francis, , in speaking out so firmly and with great courage, against what is happening in Gaza at the moment with great courage and resolution on numerous occasions and being a voice for peace . Condemning in resolute terms the
    totally horrible actions of the IDF
    Thank you Holy Father.

  4. This morning our homily was on hate as spoken about in the gospel. Hatred was described as a passion which was defined as a response to good and evil. We then had a short talk on Aquinas with regard to his 11 passions. (We were told to look them up) In explaining the gospel our priest said we are called to hate everything that gets in the way of God’s plan of salvation.

    It’s not so much that I am grateful TO Our Holy Father but that I am grateful to God FOR our Holy Father. The nets are destined to be broken but no little one will be lost and the barque will sail the Holy See until the end of time. But for now the scandals of schism and apostasy billow the sails of the barque.

    It is not the shock of scandal that harms but the sin it causes. St Catherine said that to dishonour the pope is to dishonour Christ. Now there’s a sin.

    I do not believe for one instant that Pope Francis has ever contradicted an eternal truth. I do believe that he has taken us to the wire in terms of mercy. As he should. There is time enough for justice.

    “Divine strength is not usually given until we are fully aware of our weakness.” Our weakness is in not forgiving. When we can’t/ won’t forgive, God steps in if we let him. “When you are weak I am strong.”

    The Jewish faith has a beautiful weakness that surrenders completely to the God of Isaac and Abraham but not to Jesus, the Son of God and the greatest Jew who ever lived. But there are none so blind as those who will not see, not even the works that He did.

    Pope Francis is saying to Israel, “Have mercy on Gaza” just as Jesus would. We know that mercy is vulnerable to abuse. It still needs, however, to be offered, to be given, to be shown. And human justice still needs to be restrained.

    “The Message of Divine Mercy has always been near and dear to me… which I took with me to the See of Peter and which it in a sense forms the image of this Pontificate.”

    —John Paul II speaking on his Pontificate

    Thank you so much, Joe, for your total and unwavering support for our Holy Father Pope Francis in calling for the stopping of the bombing of Gaza.

    At least we agree on this.

    Thank goodness Joe , you like me and our very own Holy Father the Pope Francis the Vicar of Christ request ,'Israel ' , to stop their inhumane bombing of Gaza as all decent Catholics everywhere should do.

    Thank you.:)

    I am glad we,as Catholics can at least agree on this. They should stop the bombing at once.

    May God bless our Holy Father for demanding this.

    Thank you for your courageous and unequivocal support for our Holy Father, the Vicar of Christ, Joe, in this difficult situation.

    In Maria Valtorta's Poem of the Man God, which has Episcopal Imprimaturs, we see very much the traditional Christian view toward the Jews; that they were very much loved by God, but did not respond to His Love; that they now need to repent and turn back to Christ, to experience His Blessings. That, until they do, on the contrary, because of the blessings they received and did not respond to, the Judgment/Wrath of God is upon them, until the day they come to Christ.

    "9 She raises her sorrowful voice again and says: « A voice, a voice comes from high above and shouts in my heart. It says: “The ancient People of God cannot sing the new hymn, because it does not love its Saviour. The new hymn will be sung by those saved in every country, those of the new People of the Christ Lord, not those who hate My Word”... Horror! (she really utters a cry that makes one shudder). The voice gives light, the light gives sight! Horror! I see!» Her shout is almost a howl. She writhes as if she were held firm before a dreadful sight torturing her heart, and she were trying to put an end to it by running away. Her mantle slips off her shoulders, and she is left in her white dress against the huge dark trunk. In the light fading slowly in the reflected green of the wood and in the reddish dancing reflection of the flames, her face becomes tremendously tragic. Shadows appear under her eyes, around her nostrils, under her lip. It seems a face disfigured by grief. She wrings her hands repeating in a lower voice: « I see! I see!» and she drinks her tears while she continues: « I see the crimes of this people of mine. And I am powerless to stop them. I see the hearts of my fellow-citizens and I am unable to change them. Horror! Horror! Satan has left his place and has come to dwell in these hearts.»

    « Make her keep quiet » the scribes order Jesus. « You promised to let her speak...» replies Jesus. The woman continues: « Your face on the ground, in the mud, o Israel, who still know how to love the Lord. Cover yourself with ashes, wrap yourself in sackcloth. For yourself! For them! Jerusalem! Jerusalem! Save yourself! I can see a town rioting and requesting a crime. I hear, I can hear the shouts of those who with hatred invoke blood upon themselves. I can see the Victim being raised in the Passover of Blood and I can see that Blood flowing, and I can hear that Blood cry louder than the blood of Abel, while heaven opens and the earth quakes and the sun grows dark. And that Blood does not cry out for vengeance, but it implores mercy on its murderous People and on us! Jerusalem!!! Be converted! That Blood! That Blood! A stream! A stream that washes the world curing all evils, cancelling all sins... But for us, for us of Israel, that Blood is fire, for us it is a chisel that engraves the name of deicides and the curse of God on the sons of Jacob. Jerusalem! Have mercy on yourself and on us!...»

    o sacred Jordan, you will see the people, that did not want the Messiah, go towards its ruin, struck by divine wrath, torn away from their homes and from the altar, and perish on the greatest death. My people, save yourselves! Believe in your Lord! Follow your Messiah! Recognise Him for what He is. Not the king of peoples and armies. He is the King of souls, of your souls, of all souls. He descended to gather the just souls, He will ascend again to lead them to the eternal Kingdom. O you, who are still able to love, press round the Holy One! O you, who have the destiny of our Fatherland at heart, join the Saviour! Let not all the offspring of Abraham die! Shun the false prophets who with lying mouths and rapacious hearts want to tear you away from Salvation. Come out of the darkness rising around you. Listen to the voice of God! In the decree of God, the mighty ones of whom you are now afraid, are already dust. One only is the Living Being. The places in which they reign and from which they oppress people, are already in ruin. One only is lasting. Jerusalem! Where are the proud sons of Zion of whom you boast? Where the rabbis and the priests with whom you adorn yourself and whom you regard with respect? Look at them! Oppressed, in chains, they are going towards their places of exile, among the ruins of your buildings, among and the dead bodies of those who were slaughtered or died of starvation. The fury of God is upon you, Jerusalem, who reject your Messiah and strike His face and heart. All your beauty has been destroyed. Every hope of yours is dead. The Temple and the altar are desecrated...»

    : « He had come to bring you light. And you waged war against Him... Health. And you sneered at Him... Love. And you hated Him... Miracles. And you said He was a demon... His hands cured your sick people. And you pierced them. He brought you the Light. And you spat on His face and covered it with filth. He brought you Life. And you killed Him. Israel, grieve over your fault and do not curse the Lord, while you are going into the exile, that will not come to an end as the exiles of the past. You will roam all over the Earth, Israel, as a defeated cursed people, pursued by the voice of God with the same words spoken to Cain. And you will not be able to come back here and build a solid home, unless you acknowledge with the other peoples that this is Jesus, the Christ, the Lord Son of the Lord...» The woman's voice is thin with pain and fatigue, as tired as the voice of one who is dying. But she does not refrain from speaking, on the contrary, she takes courage again for a last command:

    « Lie down, people who do not yet know how to love. Roll in ashes, wrap yourself in sackcloth. The fury of God is hanging over us like a cloud laden with hailstones and lightning over a cursed field.» The woman collapses on her knees, her arms stretched out towards Jesus, and she shouts: « Peace, peace, o King of justice and of peace! Peace, o great and mighty Adonai, Whom not even the Father resists! Implore peace for us, in Your Name, o Jesus, Saviour and Messiah, Redeemer and King, and God, three times holy!» and shaken by sobs, she falls to the ground with her face on the grass."

    Fr. Pranaitas, among other Priests, have exposed/unmasked the Talmud's false and evil teachings for us. Christ's condemnations of the Pharisees apply in many ways to the false Pharisaical teachings of the Talmud: "
    The Talmud Unmasked is a collection of quotes from the Talmud, the Zohar and other Talmudic works demonstrating that:

    1. Jews do not regard non-Jews as human beings
    2. the Talmud contains blasphemies against Jesus and offensive passages about Christians
    3. Judaism despises non-Jews
    4. the Talmud urges Jews to do a variety of harms to Christians, such as murder and theft, and teaches that each death of a Christian serves as a substitute for the Temple sacrifices, which would then hasten the arrival of the Jewish messiah.[1]
    "By means of numerous citations in Hebrew and Latin translations, he sought to demonstrate that the Talmud obliged Jews to injure Christians in multifarious ways, and to work for their elimination. Pranaitis drew on the works of the German anti-Talmudists Jakob Ecker and August Rohling. The book received the imprimatur of the [Catholic] church and was published by the press of the Academy of Sciences."

    Did anyone else notice that the consecration of Russia and Ukraine by Pope Francis 25 March 2022 has had zero effect?

    Indeed things have deteriorated since with conflict in the Middle East.

    So you agree with Pope Francis that those who are divorced and continue to have sexual relations with their concubines may ignore the injunction of Christ to "go and sin no more" and may receive His Body and Blood in the Eucharist? Another eternal truth, presumably, but it's hard to know these days, is the First Commandment, "You shall have no other gods before Me"; do you think Pope Francis wasn't contradicting that Command when he placed a symbol of a pagan demon (Pachamama) on the altar of St Peter's Basilica during Mass? Do you think that St Catherine would have let him off lightly with these stunts? Does it honour a pope to remain silent when he creates such scandals? Is it not a greater dishonour to him not to call him out when he does these things? Were we not told to disbelieve even an angel from Heaven (as distinct from an angel from Hell), if he told us something in contradiction with the gospel?

    I googled it and it's described in several reviews that come up as 'antisemitic'. It demonstrates the incredible power that this minority has over public opinion that the dominant media will condemn people for even using their own words.

    It must be remembered that many Jews follow the Torah, rather than the Talmud. I'm known on here as a fan of the Jewish singer, Bob Dylan, who converted to Christianity in 1979. As far as I can glean, he was very well versed and educated in the Old Testament, but I've never come across anything of the Talmud in his background. Certainly, long before his conversion, he demonstrated a great interest in and respect for Christ. The same applies to his colleague, Leonard Cohen, who developed a sympathetic fascination with Christ from his Irish nanny (there's strong evidence in the lyrics of his final album that he was seriously considering conversion at the end and might well have done so, please God).

    What's most intriguing is that the greatest Talmudic hatred has been expressed by secular, atheistic Jews.

    Yes, I definitely noticed. Things have indeed gotten worse. Our Lady said, the consecration will be done, but it will be late. We can speculate why the consecration by Pope Francis did not work. Either, because he does not have the authority or because he added a lot of fluff to the simple consecration. I have my theory, of course, but it is well known here already - I don't want to bore the beloved forum members too much. :)

    Hey get onboard the nu church.

    The current pope and his buddies know best.

    Father Spadaro — a member of the Society of Jesus and a close collaborator of Pope Francis — is the editor of the once great Jesuit periodical La Civilta Cattolica, which, while not an official organ of the Holy See, has very close ties to it.

    Unless the highly credentialed Mr. Pentin, who is fluent in Italian, has lied or made egregious translation errors — both unlikely — Father Spadaro has reproduced, and even outdone, some of the more scandalous interpretations of the beautiful episode recorded in the Gospels of Jesus’ encounter with the gentile “woman of Canaan” (Matt. 15:21-28). Based upon the Pentin translation, calling Father Spadaro’s piece “heretical blasphemy” is not at all exaggerated language.

    Father Spadaro’s fellow Jesuit, Father James Martin, has a similarly blasphemous Tweet on the subject.

    Included in Father Spadaro’s accusations against the Incarnate Logos are that He was,

    – indifferent to suffering;
    – irritable and insensitive;
    – inscrutably harsh;
    – [an] unmerciful theologian;
    – mocking and disrespectful towards the poor mother;
    – showing a lapse in attitude, manner and humanity;
    – blinded by nationalism and theological rigorism;
    – rigid, confused and in need of conversion;
    – sick and imprisoned by rigidity and the dominant theological, political and cultural elements of his time;
    – [a] glorifier of the pagan faith.

    I'm in two minds about this:

    1) That the last consecration by Pope John Paul was accepted in Heaven. If so, the demands from the faithful for Pope Francis to re-do the consecration were tantamount to a lack of obedience to Church authority and a lack of trust that God knows how to keep a promise. St. Jihn Paul's attempt at the consecration was decades late and the Soviet Union fell shortly afterward. The universal Church all but dropped the First Saturday devotions while expecting an overnight conversion of Russia. Maybe we need to learn that God's timing is the prerogative of God alone.

    2) That a lot of dark dealings are coming to light and dark forces are being exposed. Maybe this is what it takes to prepare mankind for what lies ahead. God's ways are not our ways.

    I'm more inclined to the view that the consecration had already been done, and what's happening now could be a chastisement for our lack of obedience and trust. Also, I don't remember any universal call for the First Saturday devotion surrounding the clamour for a repeat of the consecration.

    I am uncomfortably with the anti Jewish sentiments on this thread. Please don't shoot me for that. I agree I am ignorant of the ins and outs of Torah and Jewish traditions. St Paul says God does not change his mind. Salvation comes from the Jews and they are still part of the story of redemption.
    They suffered horribley during WW2 and in various persecutions throughout their history and they needed a place of their own to have sanctuary. Hence the difficulty we face today.
    War is a terrible scourge and who knows how this is going to end.
    I try and keep a focus on praying for peace and for all the victims.

    The slightly controversial conversation about Garabandal and other apparitions was a few days and pages ago, I just wanted to say that it was insightful for me. Thank you for that.

    What non sum dignus wrote, I also speculate - that when the Russian invasion of Europe takes place, that might be the time for the warning.
    In an open World War, a nuclear exchange of blows would be what could ultimately be expected.
    I read a while ago that Satan wants this, but God does not want his creation to be destroyed.
    So, we already have a kind of WWIII, so far more as a proxy war in the Ukraine, also economically etc., we will probably not experience a nuclear war. The peak of chaos will probably be reached before then.
    That could also explain the apparent contradiction when Our Lady in Garabandal said there would not be another world war.
