Yes - a schism will be very distressing to those who love the church, and a good mother would prepare us. Then we'll say, "We were warned." She wants us to keep our peace, no matter what comes. As far as the abuse crisis goes, I agree with you. How many of those priests never had a vocation? We don't have a pedaphila crisis - we have a homosexuality crisis. Those who live that "lifestyle" gravitate to young boys.
Peter; I wonder if "rock on top of the rock" refers to the fact that we have a holy father AND a holy grandfather. The part of the third secret of Fatima that was released refers to an old pope who has difficulty walking, and I wonder if it refers to dear Benedict. With Pope Francis in the chair of Peter and Benedict nearby, the enemy has two targets.
"Pedra em cima de pedra" is found on Matthew 24 (em cima de = sobre). 1. Ao sair do templo, os discípulos aproximaram-se de Jesus e fizeram-no apreciar as construções. 1. And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to [him] for to shew him the buildings of the temple. 2. Jesus, porém, respondeu-lhes: Vedes todos estes edifícios? Em verdade vos declaro: não ficará aqui pedra sobre pedra; tudo será destruído. 2. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. http://www.bibliacatolica.com.br/biblia-ave-maria-vs-king-james-version/sao-mateus/24/ I didn't understand the meaning on Pedro Regis' message.
I'm thinking this is the NWO One World Religion that will interfere with the Church. They want to squash the Church and Christianity as a whole. Picking one after another of our brave, bold Priests off. UNITY, FOCUS and PRAYERFULNESS is vital for our Priests to fight.
Thanks, tgo. This is helpful, as the reference to Matthew 24:2 would seem to indicate that the betrayal of 'Peter' (i.e. the Pope) by 'Judas' (a fellow apostle, i.e. a churchman) is a sign of 'the end of the age'... This will probably come as no surprise to regular readers of this forum, but a major theme in the mystical literature over recent decades has been the grave danger posed to the Church by Freemasonry (the 'spirit of the triangle', as one message in the approved apparitions of Our Lady of All Nations in Amsterdam). Various visionaries (Fr Gobbi, Ottavio Michelini, Julia Kim of Naju et al.) as well as St Pio and exorcists such as Gabriel Amorth have all sounded the alarm on this, particularly with respect to the infiltration of the Catholic hierarchy by masonry. We know that the problem of masonic influence within the Vatican was also raised by Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano in 2011 when he filed his anti-corruption report on Vatican finances, subsequent to which he was 'promoted' to Apostolic Nuncio to the US (a move which he interpreted as banishment in order to shut down his inquiry). It is almost certainly one of the themes of the 300-page dossier compiled by Cardinals Herranz, Tomko and Di Giorgi in the wake of Vatileaks which only Benedict XVI and now Pope Francis have read.
As long as we are talking about Masonry ... Joseph Smith, the founder of my former religion (Mormon) was a Mason. Certain aspects of the Mormon temple rites are based on Masonic rituals. Smith actually claimed that he was restoring the "true" Masonry that had been corrupted over the centuries. When I renounced Satan and all of his works prior to my Catholic baptism I truly felt that I was being freed from the ties with which I had been bound by participating in the Mormon temple rituals.
I would further equate Freemasonry with many many priests who are consumed with social justice. Have you ever heard a priest who preaches week after week after week, social justice sermons who ever mentions hell, sin, contraception, sterelization, abortion, divorce and remarriage etc.... in his homilies? I believe that many priests may not be card carrying members of freemasonry, but they surely espouse many of the anti-Catholic docrtinal teaches of the Church via social justice initiatives.
http://www.independent.com.mt/artic...ring-versions-about-pope-pm-talks-1909063680/ about 16 hours ago - Tuesday, 25 June 2013, 11:57 , by Jacob Borg and newsroom Prime Minister Joseph Muscat yesterday had a private audience with Pope Francis at the Vatican, followed by talks with Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone. Foreign Minister George Vella and parliamentary secretary Owen Bonnici were also present at the talks. The accounts provided after the 15-minute talks between Pope and prime minister, differed widely according to whether one examined the Vatican’s Press Office statement or what was said later by Dr Muscat. According to the Vatican Press Office, the apostolic origins of the Maltese church were mentioned in the talks as well as the determining imprint that Christianity has left on the history and culture of the Maltese people. Mention was also made of the pastoral visits to Malta by the Blessed John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI which “have left a profound memory in the life of the church and in the population.” During the meeting, according to the Vatican press statement, it was reaffirmed the necessity of maintaining safe the Christian values and emphasis was also made on the important role that the Catholic church exerts in Malta through its educational and assistential institutions. The church’s role has been safeguarded by means of many agreements between the Holy See and Malta including that about the teaching of the Catholic religion in State schools, that on church schools and that on the church’s property. A particular mention, added the Vatican note, was made about the “agreement on the civil effects of religious marriages about which there will be further talks between the two sides.” Mentioning the ‘important challenges and critical situations in the Mediterranean as relating to the role of Malta in the EU, special mention was made as to the phenomenon of migration towards Europe which sees both church and state in Malta strongly impacted. According to the version given by Dr Muscat to the media accompanying the Maltese delegation, the aim of the talks revolved around the revision of the 1992 treaty granting supremacy to the ecclesiastical tribunal on marital matters, leaving the Maltese courts subordinate to its decisions in matters of marriage annulment. Dr Muscat explained that the treaty is being used vindictively in the Maltese courts, with the purpose of delaying marital court proceedings. He said that a prompt revision of the treaty is needed, particularly in light of the introduction of divorce in Malta. “The Vatican is prepared for and willing to change. We asked for a revision of the treaty, and we found an abundance of understanding on their part,” Dr Muscat explained. The Prime Minister explained that a bilateral commission will now be set up, with two representatives from each side in order to discuss the relevant changes to the treaty. Dr Muscat said that all discussions have to take place through the relevant diplomatic channels, ruling out any unilateral action on Malta’s part. He said that in the spirit of openness, he informed the Vatican of the government’s intentions to introduce civil unions in Malta. “It is important to maintain cordial relations with the Vatican. We were honest and open about our intentions, we did not approach the talks with the pretence of a holier than thou attitude.” The Prime Minister placed emphasis on the need for a speedy resolution to the talks, saying that they have to be concluded within “a matter of months, not years.” Dr Muscat hinted that the Vatican’s position is that only the relevant clause of the treaty should be changed, but he said that the government wants a wider revision. On a personal level, the Prime Minister expressed his esteem for the “humble” Pope Francis. Dr Muscat then presented to the Pope his wife and their twin children as well as the rest of the Maltese delegation. He was reported to have told the Pope that, mindful of the Pope’s ‘humility’ he did not bring him gifts of silver but only four ceramics showing the Gospels. He added that the Pope has been invited to visit Malta.
NOW READ THIS::: An order will be given by an Order. There will be a false promise and the throne of Peter will be shaken. You now live in the time of great spiritual confusions. Be strong. Go to confession; receive the Eucharist and the word of God, for this is the only way you will find strength for your lives. (5 Feb 08) you live in the time of great spiritual tribulations. Bend your knees in prayer, for this is the only way that you will be able to bear the weight of difficulties. The Church will walk on difficult paths. It will confront much ingratitude from bad pastors and will drink the bitter cup of pain. An order will come from Malta that will shake the church and make the faithful suffer. I am your Sorrowful Mother and I know what awaits you. Don´t flee from the truth. Trust in The Lord. He is your victory, and there is nothing you can do without Him. Courage. Forward. (1 Feb 08)
Unfortunately you hit the nail on the head. Although social justice is indeed a part of Catholicism and what Jesus taught, I always ask "whose social justice?" As Fr Pavone says, if you're not pro- life then social justice is meaningless. Run don't walk from any priest who will not preach on pro-life/homosexual issues but keeps pounding on the "social justice issues." He has simply lost his faith.
Is the above quote from Pedro Regis? What does Malta have to do with anything? I am not aware of the importance of Malta. I have a friend who is a Knight of Malta and I do not really understand its significance. Anyone?
??? Banking and finance[edit] The two largest commercial banks are Bank of Valletta and HSBC Bank Malta, both of which can trace their origins back to the 19th century. Malta is one of the world's financial centres.[80] The Central Bank of Malta (Bank Ċentrali ta' Malta) has two key areas of responsibility: the formulation and implementation of monetary policy and the promotion of a sound and efficient financial system. It was established by the Central Bank of Malta Act on 17 April 1968. The Maltese government entered ERM II on 4 May 2005, and adopted the euro as the country's currency on 1 January 2008.[81] FinanceMalta is the quasi-governmental organisation tasked with marketing and educating business leaders in coming to Malta and runs seminars and events around the world highlighting the emerging strength of Malta as a jurisdiction for banking and finance and insurance.[82]
http://www.timesofmalta.com/mobile/view/20120828/opinion/The-Pope-the-butler-and-the-cardinal.434641 The Pope, the butler and the cardinal For centuries, unimpeachable historical evidence shows that the Vatican has been a hive of intrigue, political jockeying for position and corruption. Murder, cruelty, hypocrisy, dishonesty and sexual depravity among supposedly morally infallible popes have not been unknown. This is, after all, an institution not made in heaven, and it is subject to all the weaknesses and vicissitudes to which man is prey. This is why what is currently happening in the Vatican is of such interest to us as a Catholic country, now at last with a Cardinal of our own. Given that, according to a recently leaked document, the Cardinal Archbishop of Palermo has said that 85-year-old Benedict will be dead by the end of this year, recent events are of ever-growing interest to the faithful in Malta who will in due course pack St Peter’s Square in Rome to await the first puff of white smoke to celebrate the election of a new pope. The current saga started almost farcically with Pope Benedict’s butler (shades of what the butler saw) being placed in a cell, accused of leaking a host of confidential letters to a journalist, who subsequently broke the story of intrigue and skulduggery. The papal butler’s incarceration was followed the next day by the dismissal of the head of the Vatican Bank, Gotti Tedeschi, by the Pope’s Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone. Tedeschi’s dismissal was accompanied by a scathing statement accusing him of failing to do his job properly. An Italian police investigation has fanned fears of more scandalous revelations still to come. In the manner of Roberto Calvi, the prominent Italian banker found hanging from Waterloo Bridge in London in mysterious circumstances in the 1980s, Tedeschi has since been quoted as saying that he fears for his life. Behind the row with Tedeschi and the jailing of the Pope’s butler lies an intense, no-holds-barred power struggle to determine the nature of the next papacy. It is a battle being waged in and around the Vatican’s financial institutions, for herein power lies. The Institute for Works of Religion, as the Vatican Bank is quaintly known, is no stranger to controversy as it was accused in the 1980s of involvement in financial chicanery, including the death of Calvi. It appears that Tedeschi had opposed a new law, backed by Cardinal Bertone, that increased the Secretary of State’s powers at the expense of the existing, independent oversight body. The change fitted a wider pattern of the acquisition of ever greater influence by Cardinal Bertone since his return to the Vatican six years ago. The 77-year-old Cardinal was the Pope’s right-hand man when the then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger headed the department on the enforcement of doctrinal orthodoxy. He is not a true Vatican insider and his underlings in the Secretary of State’s office resent the punchy, football-loving former archbishop for his lack of diplomatic experience. Intrigue is a staple diet in the Vatican as it is in any other bureaucratic institution where office politics play an inevitable role. What makes this conflict special, however, is Cardinal Bertone’s repeated efforts to wrest the levers of financial control from others. The Cardinal’s enemies say that this is a grab for the patronage that goes with them. Last year he tried to make the Vatican Bank rescue a debt-ridden hospital and Mr Tedeschi’s refusal to do so presaged their latest row. To strengthen his position further, Cardinal Bertone has promoted three close associates and former subordinates from his north-west Italy region to positions in charge of the Vatican’s treasury, the Vatican’s central bank and as governor of the Vatican City State, the Holy See’s temporal power-base which also carries great financial clout. All three men were promoted to Cardinal in February. These promotions have intensified suspicion among Cardinal Bertone’s critics that he is trying to pack the Conclave that will elect the next pope with his own people. However, for a Secretary of State to ascend to the throne of St Peter is rare, the only example in the last 350 years being Pius XII in 1939. Whatever his ambitions, Cardinal Bertone is proving a divisive figure. Many had hoped that as a relative outsider to Vatican politics, he would bring transparency, accountability and innovation to a highly centralised bureaucratic machine which was last reformed 45 years ago. The earlier years of Pope Benedict’s papacy saw a succession of diplomatic gaffes from clerical child sex abuse to the mishandling of contraception, homosexuality and Aids, which many Vatican officials blamed on his inexperience. As long as Cardinal Bertone remains Secretary of State, the infighting in the Vatican seems likely to continue, and the outside world’s concerns about its administration and governance will remain. The papacy is an institution of great antiquity, history, riches and splendour. It commands admiration even when there is no specific allegiance. It is an institution which appeals to the imagination and our collective sense of history. But the papacy also has a need to keep its traditions alive by a judicious openness to change. In this the papacy has a hard task, since it rests ultimately upon theological doctrines that are facing growing challenges. The papacy has yet to adapt to modern mores, and this will undoubtedly have to await the arrival of Pope Benedict XVI’s successor. As this latest saga shows, manoeuvring for that event is well under way.

Thank you for having allowed Me to gather you here once more. I bless you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Go in peace. tgo - can you think of a better translation for the sentence in square brackets?
I can't think of anything different. Do you believe it means something else? Isn't that heresy (to be assured of your own salvation)?
[quote Isn't that heresy (to be assured of your own salvation)?[/quote] How can trusting in ones salvation be heresy? There will be great persecution of the Church and few will remain steadfast in the truth. I believe this means one must pray that you remain faithful to the truth revealed through Holy Mother Church, lest you loose it.
From the Gospel of Luke 10:17-20 Return of the Seventy-two. 17 The seventy [-two] returned rejoicing, and said, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us because of your name.” 18 Jesus said, “I have observed Satan fall like lightning* from the sky.p19 Behold, I have given you the power ‘to tread upon serpents’ and scorpions and upon the full force of the enemy and nothing will harm you.q 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
I see it is a direct reference to the Bible. Anyway, we still need to fight for it, right? From a message to the Amazon seer (01.11.2007--corrected google translation): Little children, know that my Lord has prepared a beautiful place in heaven for those who truly live my appeals with love and heart. I hope for each, so you may gain the crown of victory. Fight for your place in heaven. You will succeed because I know you are capable, little children, because the Lord is granting you the necessary graces so you may have the strenght to overcome the forces of evils in the world. 06.23.2007 "Remember: in heaven are only those who lived united with God, who left the life of sin, who honored and obeyed his commandments."
Absolutely!!! I read a story about St. Francis of Assisi - when people called him a saint, he replied something in the order of, "Not so fast. I'm still perfectly capable of fathering children!" ANY of us could take a hard left and squander our inheritance. That's why I pray, "Never let me be parted from you, Lord. I trust in you, but I don't trust in me. We both know how I am!"
