Jerusalem Revelation 11:1-14 11 I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers. 2 But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. 3 And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” 4 They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands, and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.” 5 If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. 6 They have power to shut up the heavens so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want. 7 Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them. 8 Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified. 9 For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. 10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth. 11 But after the three and a half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. 12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on. 13 At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven. 14 The second woe has passed; the third woe is coming soon.
Canada is more corrupt then US. I guess its just good to be prepared at any time to go before God. The how and where is in Gods hands.
I’m not bragging, but living down here in South Florida is a blessing. We don’t have perfect weather, because hurricanes are no laughing matter. But our Churches are packed. Praise God!
Praise God is right. I do think the Holy Spirit is starting to move powerfully in some places in Canada as well. In the time of great darkness, is also the great springtime. It's a time of great hope.
You are blessed! Here we are like barely hanging on. A terrible weariness. Many of our Churches closed or torn down or sold. Heart breaking.
The Holy Spirit{and good old fashioned common sense}is alive and good people are fighting back in Canada. On pride day and month, many parents kept their children home. {Can you imagine putting your child on that bus?} ‘Huge success’: Thousands of students absent from schools across Canada in protest of ‘Pride Month’ While schools were unwilling to report specific figures, many admitted that large numbers of pupils were missing on June 1, with parents alleging that one Windsor, Ontario school had a 75 percent absence rate. Iv-olga / Shutterstock Clare Marie Merkowsky BeyondWords (LifeSiteNews) — Thousands of students across Canada stayed home on June 1 to protest the promotion of “Pride Month” in the public education system, with one school missing 75 percent of its students, according to a top pro-family group. As Canadian schools celebrated the June 1 beginning of so-called “Pride Month,” thousands of students were absent nationwide, taking part in the first annual “National ‘Pride’ Flag Walk-Out Day” initiated by pro-life and pro-family organization Campaign Life Coalition (CLC). “The first ever National ‘Pride’ Flag Walk-Out Day was a huge success,” CLC’s director of political operations Jack Fonseca told LifeSiteNews. “The parent participation and student absence rates in many schools and parts of Canada was much higher than we had even dreamed of achieving.” “For instance, we’ve heard from local parents that Windsor, Ontario’s Northwood Public School saw 600 out of its 800 students stay home on June 1st. That’s a staggering 75% walk-out.” 'Huge success': Thousands of students absent from schools across Canada in protest of 'Pride Month' - LifeSite Thousands of Ont. students stay home to protest new sex-ed curriculum | CTV News
I see this in Shirley Temple movies from the 1930's! Has anyone watched the movie "Young People?" It's awful! I love Shirley Temple, but i had to throw that one out. It was all about a progressive, show-biz family moving to a small town and clashing with the strict morals and traditional customs of the families there. The country families are portrayed as prejudiced and backwards, and of course the progressive family is so very nice but so much smarter and "wiser" and hip. Their daughter (Shirley) gets the children of the town to perform a risque dance routine at the school production, where they dress like suggestive adults and sing about knowing better than their parents. And when the parents are horrified, them wanting the family to leave is portrayed as cruel and small-minded. I was pretty shocked that this movie was made in the 30's. And it's not the only one. There are subtle subversions of traditional morality in some of Shirley's other movies too. Usually it's the younger, more modern-thinking characters being portrayed as better than the "close-minded" older characters who are concerned about the compromise of morality in the show business.
Wow. I've never seen "Young People", I never cared much for her later films. I haven't watched her older movies in years, but when I was a child a local station would run "Heidi" every Christmas and I always looked forward to it. I'm sure I would feel the same as you if I re-watched those Shirley Temple films.
This is wonderful Byron. I've noticed the packed churches when we visit family in Florida, and so many Mass times compared with what we have in my corner of Massachusetts.
I haven’t seen Young People but a very popular coming of age film among those born in the 60s and later is Dirty Dancing. I watched it in growing dismay and then horror as Baby’s father, a doctor, is put straight when he refuses to help a girl get an abortion. The zeitgeist is in full flow. The father is suitably chastened. Revolting propagandist drivel. I won’t have that trash in my house.
When I was a teen, my friend tried to show me that movie. It made me so uncomfortable, I made her turn it off.
See the article below. I have a memory that speaks to this issue which makes me teary-eyed, so I may be repeating myself. I was praying in front of Syracuse's Planned Parenthood with a few Catholic women. A Protestant was there also with a megaphone. A couple arrived and parked closer to the entrance and the mother stepped out of the car. The Protestant began blaring out that abortion is murder and you should not go in. When the mother turned, one could see how distraught she was and she came over to us weeping. It turns out that every man in her life was pressuring her "to get rid of it". The pressure had taken it's toll. Our little group expressed our desire to help, but she caved and went in. The truth of that moment makes me weep to this day. As we pray against this heinous crime, pray for the dads of these precious babies also! Lord have Mercy. https://www.lifenews.com/2023/06/16...s-like-adams-silence-while-eve-ate-the-apple/
Today I was at a Canadian Superstore and they have put in a new gate system in the foyer before entering the main door of the store. They also had a lady worker just standing there watching people enter.( It wasn't a greeter) It's an electronic gate. It made me think how it could be used to control "who" has access to groceries eventually. It just seemed quite intrusive.
