Well I drove the eighty miles to Knock and there was a big red sign at the campsite saying , Permanently Closed. I checked on site and it does seem to be closed for good. I asked if there was another camp site nearby but no. Two nice men said if I asked nicely Security might maybe let me sleep on the Basilica car park. Maybe. So I said a quick prayer for you all and drove a hundred miles in a bad mood to my next camp site. However if it helps I am going to write down all the names on this thread and offer up masses and prayers everyday until I finish camping in two or three weeks. So sorry. The campsites I use in the North you pay 200 for a year and then can use the ten sites as much as you like for the year. I was tempted to stop on a campsite on the Atlantic Way but I know they charge 60 a night, which is extortion.
While I was packing this morning I was listening to an old episode of Mother Angelica were she answers questions. A lady's husband had been dying of cancer and she rallied all her parish friends and relatives to storm heaven for his healing. Still he died and the lady was furious and said she hated God. What struck me was this kind and understanding Mother Angelica was about it all. Fulton Sheen said that the Cross has two beams. They represent our will and the other Gods will. They reason why there is a Cross is that our will is at odds with God's Will.
