President Obama calls for an end of Catholic Schools

President Obama has called for an end of Catholic schools here whilst on a visit.

Sigh.

 

I am sorry I may not be posting as much the next few days as I am away at a Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour. But I will be praying for you All, especially the ones who need it the most.

Obamas remarks are not surprising. I doubt the US media will even pick this story up but it is really very alarming. It is quite in line with his attacks on religious freedoms here in the US. It's very discouraging.

 

I live in a rural community and our local Church only opens for Mass once a week, but I daily hear Holy Mass online and very often at Clonard - a beautiful Church. Thanks for your prayers, you have mine!

 

The Catholic Church is bigger than Obama, how many have tried to destroy her over the centuries and failed!

 

Thanks Miraim. It must be very hard having your Church open only once a week. I have many, many to choose from.

I remember I used to attend a Church in London called St George's It used to be opne only for mass each day because the priest said they were afraid of vandals.

Then we got a new very holy old preist who said he would keep it open all the time. I remember him pointing at teh Tabernacle and saying,

'The only thing worth stealing in here is in the tabernacle'.

So he opened the Church and it was burnt down about two days later.

Poor man...I am sure the Bishop was not happy with him.

 

There is only one Priest and he offers Mass at two Churches, he must be run ragged, God bless him!

 

I have three intentions:

1) Protection from the enemy for the poorly catechised and the uncatechised
2) Conversion for those chained by addictions
3) A happy, holy death for my mom and all her peers throughout the world

Padraig, please remember me and my family in your prayers at the Novena. What is really God-incidental is that I always have a candle lit with a saint or religious picture everyday. I had never seen or bought one with Our Lady of Perpetual Succor and just found one this week and has been lit in my home the last couple of days, so please say a special prayer for me!!

Do you know the story behind the Perpetual Succour Icon? I think it represents the child Jesus running to his mother for comfort after being shown the instruments of The Passion by angels. His little sandal is still hanging off from having been so frightened by what he saw.

I read a visionary who said that the thoughts of the Passion were constantly on the mid of Mary. I suppose that would tie in with the Presentation when Mary was told:
Luke 2:34-35
34 Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: “This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, 35 so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.”

There is something about the colour of Mary's dress in that picture that I find very beautiful and touching, the dark blue and gold. Very beautiful.

 

You know Hope, if the President is calling for an end of Catholic schools in Ireland I wonder how far of the day is when he will call for them to be ended in the USA

Then I wonder how far off the day is when he DEMANDS they be closed along with the Churches?

 

I'm calling for and end to Obama !

 

They make the mistake folks did at Babel, Glenn, they put man above God, rather than God above man.

So they think they can engineer whole societies in their own likeness. They become little Gods.

 

sounds wonderful Padraig. Please keep my job situation in your prayers. I completely re-did my resume, and am getting a better response. I had 2 interviews a few weeks ago. But I already got 1 no and am waiting on the other...although the no was the one I thought I had a better chance of getting. who knows what God's plan is for me...but I'm sure it's good!! Also a little prayer for my Dad...he's still officially in remission from cancer (a miracle in and of itself), but his numbers are starting to go in the wrong direction.

 

only a few months ago I would have had a hard time imagining obama demanding churches and / or catholic schools closing. But since all the scandals started and have been revealing such lies and persecution of those with traditional values by our own gov't...well, I wouldn't be surprised if he called for martial law tomorrow...I think it's really begun here in the US and events will escalate quickly.
