August 24, 1970. LETTER SIGNED BY CONCHITA TO THE FRENCH YOUNG PEOPLE WHO VISITED THE PEOPLE OF GARABANDAL. Dear young French people: From you the Virgin desires help to turn the world and avoid God's wrath upon us sinners. She trusts you so that with your example and selflessness you will be models for the other young people who have not had the thanks that you have to hear the messages of the Virgin. She asks you so much spirit of penance, sacrifice and prayer. Without these weapons nothing we can do. It's not much time we have, but it's enough to avoid great punishment and content our Mother's Holy Heart. It is in the Holy Sacrament that you will find enough strength to embark on this life that the Virgin is constantly asking you to go to the Blessed, to empty your heart of worldly things that will not let you hear God. If you do this you will start living life happy, because only happiness you have never felt will be found in the surrender to God and the Virgin. Pray for one another, for yourselves, ask the Virgin. Order it with faith and trust. She will give you everything good for you. And now for me and my friends I ask you to pray to God and the Virgin to be humble and sacrificial and all together to think more about Jesu s' Passion, to forget about ourselves. In togetherness of prayers, and that one day forever we can meet in Heaven to be eternally happy. Conchita Gonzalez.
I just wanted to know (in another thread if that's better) if Conchita really wrote this letter talking about Joey getting new eyes on the day of the Great Miracle.
As Glenn says if you require personnel information on Glenn or any member of this forum by all means ask them privately on the PM system
THIS IS THE LETTER I HAVE ON FILE : St. Joseph’s Day 1964 My Dear Joseph, Just two lines to tell you the message which the Blessed Virgin gave me for you today at the pines…she told me that the voice you heard was hers and that you shall see on the very day of the Miracle. She also told me that the House of Charity you will establish in New York will bring great glory to God. Conchita Gonzalez
Thank you BrianK and "Quis ut Deus" . I think differences in thought have been expressed and even exhausted. Glenn is the moderator. May peace return. O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us.
I received a letter from Conchita on this date below, after the passing of her husband Patrick. I wanted to post the last sentence of her letter, it's TRULY PROFOUND. She said: " Death for sure is not the end, it is the beginning and the vanities of the world are a loss of energy because it distracts us from the reality of life, and true happiness. FEBRUARY 5 TO 19, 1968: CONCHITA'S SECOND TRIP TO ROME The Vatican covered the expenses of Conchita's second visit to Rome again with her mother and Fr. Luna, complete discretion being then asked to Conchita. The visionary again went to the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to be questioned but, this time, no longer by Cardinal Ottaviani. We hardly know anything more about the new encounter: Conchita, in fact, was even more discreet about this second trip than about the first. The archives of Fr. Luna, now deceased, will someday doubtless be of great use to us to know, at last, the nature of the conversations that took place then between the visionary and the Church authorities. It will a fortiori be the same for what the Archives of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith are preserving about this matter. From 'Garabandal' Book, J. Serre, page 215

1. The event was organised by a lady living in Wolverhampton UK who used to advertise books and talks about Garabandal quite often in the UK Catholic press. The specific advert for the event I attended was in one of two widely circulated Catholic newspapers (The Universe or perhaps the Catholic Herald - I used to buy both each week), which (as usual) quoted the lady's name above an organisation's name which was 'The Midlands Garabandal Centre' (or something close). I have no idea whether the organisation still exists but the lady in question was present at the event (selling books at fairly 'eye watering' prices) and was fairly old then (1977) so she may not now even be alive. 2. He specifically said that he was travelling with his brother. 3. He DID request donations which came as no surprise since the event was in a venue in the centre of a large city (Birmingham, UK) and I certainly understood that attendees should, at least, consider making a contribution towards the cost which I did willingly. He specifically mentioned the expense of the hotel into which they had been booked by the organisers (which I assumed to be the advertisers of the event). I would be happy to swear that he definitely mentioned the name of the hotel. This was 46 years ago (and I am now 75) so you will understand that I do not now recall the hotel's name. Though I am certain that he mentioned it and I know that I rang that hotel on the following morning and recall being very surprised that he hadn't apparently stayed there. All the above is true, I would not lie to make a point especially about such important and sensitive matters and am offended that you imply that I have.
Many have written to me presenting the name of the recently Beatified Carlo Acutis , as the young martyr of the Eucharist , for the Garabandal Miracle. Sorry to say it is not him for several reasons. 1. He is not a saint yet. 2. He would have had to been a saint by 1963, when Conchita brought up the topic. (as it was known then ) 3. He does not fit the description Conchita gave to her friends that day. HERE A FEW TIPS TO DISQUALIFY CANDIDATES “MIRACLE DAY MARTYR” CRITERIA A young male martyr of the Eucharist. ( a boy/ teen ) Because of the first statement, it is male , not female. Not being of Spanish heritage. (as per Conchita). The Miracle is in April, so must the martyr’s feast day. Feast day must fall between the 8th-16th. His feast day will coincide with an Ecclesiastical event in the church. Since the " Miracle Saint" information came about in 1963, it would have to be the Traditional Latin Mass schedule. The Novus Ordo didn't start until 1965. ( It is possible that his name did not appear on the calendar in 1963,so that complicates things. Saints feast days do move)
