Hi Byron. Now that we have the Biblical example you were thinking of, I want to repeat your initial question. You said: "I agree that this end times a-la-Protestant is clearly a deception. But HH has a good point. Your description of the end times, I truly believe is correct, but what about the end of the World scenario? The Bible mentions the last Antichrist appearing again at the end of the world just before the Last Judgment. Is it possible the third temple scam would be then?" From those verses in the Apocalypse, we have three "persons" mentioned: the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet. We know that the dragon is defined as "the old serpent, "the devil," "Satan." So the dragon is not a human person like me and you. He is a fallen angel. He is Lucifer. The beast is normally identified with the "Beast from the Sea" (Apocalypse 13). A detailed description of that "beast" can be seen in Daniel 7 and in Apocalypse 17. It is the eighth "head" of this beast that is the Antichrist (Apoc. 17:11). You need to read Daniel 7 correctly to understand the description of the Beast from the Sea. Daniel provided a "genealogy" of this Beast. The final head (leader) of this beast is called "the little horn" in Daniel. The heads are 7 legitimate heads of an institution. The last (the eighth) head is illegitimate and a destroyer of the institution. The false prophet is described in Apocalypse 13, as the "Beast from the earth." The false prophet has "two horns like a lamb but spoke like a dragon." Read the description of the "little horn" in Daniel 7 and 8. He is a man "who speaks proudly." He takes away "the continual sacrifice." So here is my interpretation of the dragon, the Beast from the Sea and the Beast from the Earth in the Apocalypse. I think that group of "persons" is actually a type of "unholy trinity." And this "unholy trinity" is a single man. That man is called "the little horn," "the man of sin," "the Antichrist," and by other names in other prophetic books of the Bible. But in the Apocalypse, St. John is describing, in more detail, this man. As Jesus Christ and those consecrated as Popes/Bishops in the Roman Catholic Church represent three modes: sacerdotal priest, king, true prophet. Similarly the Antichrist represents three modes: satanic-priest, usurper king, and false prophet. This is the unholy trinity that St. John is trying to represent in the Apocalypse when he refers separately to dragon, beast, false prophet. The word "Antichrist" (or it Greek equivalent) does not exist in the Apocalypse. It is a term St. John uses in his letters and the Church Fathers used to represent the end times bad guy, who goes by many different names in the Bible. The best model to understand this the "unholy trinity" is Judas. Judas began his mission as a spy-infiltrator of the pharisees, he later came to believe that Jesus could be the worldly-political Messiah and wanted to be his right-hand-man, he later became disillusioned with Jesus because Judas saw that Jesus had no interest in changing "the world" politically, so Judas sold Jesus out for 30 pieces of silver. Therefore, the Antichrist is a complex figure just like Judas. At the end of his life, Satan possesses Judas. And, at the end of his life, Satan will also possess the person called the Antichrist. But before that point, the person who is the Antichrist is an "apostle of Jesus" in his Church. He ultimately rises to the level of Antipope and sells out Jesus again, just as Judas did. The false prophet side of this man will convince the members of the Catholic Church to adore the head of the Catholic Church rather than Jesus Himself. How? By telling people that he, the Antipope, can change the dogmas of faith and morals revealed by the Word of God, Jesus himself. Sorry for that long tangent. To get back to your question. There is no second Antichrist. There is only one. He is a single person, a single Antipope. However, after the Antichrist dies, Satan, who had demonically possessed the Antichrist at the end of his life, comes back in the final period of the Wrath to punish those who "adored the Antichrist" rather than "adoring God." St. Paul calls that period, the Wrath. That period will not be experienced by those who "adore God." It will be experienced by those who "adore a man" who presumes to change the teachings of Jesus Christ. So watch and pray that you are not deceived by the "religious deception" of the Antichrist (CCC 675).
Thank you PNF. I’m not quite sure of all this. And I’m not convinced. Please watch this video on La Salette. Maybe you can tell us where we are right now in Bible history by analyzing La Salette.
One of the problems is that the ashes of the new red heifer must be mixed with some ashes of the past red heifers. So unless there is an archeological discovery of a batch of those opast ashes then the ritual cannot be done in a valid manner. These ultra -orthodox Jews that are doing this are a minority of religious Jews. The true Red heifer is Our Lady just as Our Lord is the Passover Lamb. https://littleeucharisticbrothers.blogspot.com/2022/03/consecration-of-russia-and-ukraine-and.html
Most people don't seem to realise that the sacrifices for sins was mostly to do with ritual purification and accidental sins only repentance through an abasement of heart and tears and even fasting can obtain forgiveness for more serious sins done deliberately. Also most Jews don't want to have a Temple rebuilt that offers bloody sacrifice - this is a small number among the ultra-orthodox. Most Jews see that in the future that there will only be the bloodless sacrifice of the Todah (Thanksgiving) offering as taught by Rav Kook and others. In principle there is no opposition with offering Temple sacrifices and seeing the Sacrifice of the Mass as the perfect fulfilment of those sacrifices, The early Jewish Christians continued in the ritual of the Temple and the Synagogue while also holding their own Eucharistic assemblies in their homes and meeting places. See Acts 21. Certainly some Church fathers and other Catholic mystics have spoken about the Jewish people rebuilding the Temple. Some then say the Anti-Christ or Man of Sin will then enter that Temple and proclaim himself as the Messiah. These are open questions and speculative and no Catholic need hold them.
I believe the War of Psalm 83 will happen first for a couple of reasons. First, it describes an alliance of nations and people that has never occurred before, specifically, every nation and people that surround Israel, but does NOT include Egypt. That's what shows that this is a future event, as that has never happened before. Second, it refers to "... The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, of Moab and the Hagrites, ..." (Ps 83:7) Those are tents, not cities, meaning a people with no home, on the move, i.e., refugees. The UN still officially considers Palestinians to be refugees (even after 4 generations, a status no other people have been given) and has a separate category to separate them from all the other refugees in the world. Ammon is the capital of Jordan, and the areas from Jordan down the east bank of the Jordan were the lands of Moab and the Hagrites. So in addition to the other nations listed, the Palestinians will join in this war. I suspect that what happens is that the UN will unilaterally declare the creation of the State of Palestine, consisting of certain areas around Israel. Based on past examples, (i.e., the day after the British left and the Modern State of Israel was declared, all of the surrounding Arab nations had declared war on Israel and had begun invading) Israel will go on high alert. The Palestinian government, after being recognized by many other governments, including the USA, will consider Israel's action to be a provocation, and so with the backing of all of the other nations listed, this war will break out. (Assyria is Iran, formerly known until after WW2 as Persia. A good portion of modern Iran, including the location of Teheran, the capitol, was part of Assyria. Iran is the headquarters of Hez'b'allah, which has become a cover and support group for pretty much all terrorist groups fighting Israel, ergo, Ps 83:9 -- "Assyria, too, in league with them, backs the descendants of Lot.") Third, the last half of the Psalm describes not just the complete destruction, but the complete humiliation of the attacking armies and their nations. Iran will be supporting but not directly involved in the attacks, so it will remain relatively unscathed. However, the Israelis will basically be fed up with the situation, much to the surprise and dismay of the attackers. (During the last conflict, "Iron Dome" against the terrorists that were launching rockets and raiding parties out of Gaza, one of the terrorists was quoted as saying something like, "What happened!? The Jews are going crazy!" I suspect the same attitude will prevail ATT.) This fatigue of being lied to over and over will cause the majority of Israelis to snap. For example, Gaza had been taken from Egypt after the Six-Day War, and had been filled with Israeli settlers. It had a well-developed infrastructure for supporting a population. It was given to the Palestinians as part of the "Land for Peace" deal, designed to get the Palestinians to stop attacking Israel. 48 hours after the last of the Israeli settlers were forced off the land, a greenhouse had been repurposed to be used to launch rockets into Israel. This time, Israel will not stop until they can be certain that the cross-border attacks will stop. To do this, they will conquer and claim the invading nations: Lebanon (at least the southern half up to Beirut -- Tyre), they'll retake Gaza (Philistia), the Golan Heights up to about 20 miles from Damascus -- this will keep the Syrians from shelling Israeli farms -- and they will conquer all of Jordan (which in Biblical times were Ammon, Gebal, Moab, and Amalek. Moab was the southern part of current Jordan, and by some biblical accounts will be totally wiped out at some point.) I imagine due to international pressure, Jordan will still continue to exist, but it will become an Israeli protectorate, and ownership and control of Temple Mount will fall to Israel (currently it's administered by Jordan). It will NOT, however, be returned completely to the Hashemite Kingdom, nor will any of the land she will occupy. Before anyone objects, keep in mind one of the standing rules of international law is that if nation A attacks nation B without cause or reason and nation B defeats nation A while occupying some of nation A's land, that land can now be claimed by nation B. Loss of territory is the one penalty that can be assessed against an aggressor nation. When Israel defeats all of the enemies attacking her, it will be clear that A) the attacks were unprovoked; and B) Israel's victory will be decisive, without the aid of any other nation. Biden will not lift a finger to provide aid or any help to Israel. In every previous war, Israel was pressured into returning land that she had conquered in a vain hope of "land for peace." All of the land she conquered, she will keep, and administer FAR more fairly than their current kleptocracies. Israel's victory will also, even more than her previous victories, show the Hand of G_D in defending Israel. (Ps 83:10-19) Israel will have some respite from attacks and may even start becoming accustomed to being at peace. And then will happen the War of Gog and Magog. (Ezekiel 38-39) This HAS to come last, because Ez 39:11 describes Gog and all his soldiers being buried east of the Jordan River. That cannot happen unless Israel already controls the land east of the Jordan River. A longer reply than I had planned, but I hope this helps explain my reasoning for my timeline.
