TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY : SEPTEMBER 15, 1961:
The "film of sinners" unfolds before the eyes of Mari-Cruz and Conchita!
    THE "FILM OF SINNERS"

In the two Messages of Garabandal, the prediction of the Chastisement that will strike the entire human race, if the latter persists in its immoral behavior, strongly expresses what Msgr. Beitia Aldazabal, the principle titular bishop of Santander at the time of the apparitions and locutions, called "the doctrine of God offended by our sins." This expression occurs eight hundred times in the Bible. In the Old Covenant, it is already associated with the holiness of God. Horror of sin was instilled in the girls from the beginning of the apparitions by a Marian catechesis sustained and, at times, even highlighted with very painful ecstasies bearing on the iniquity of the world and the ordeals it would create.
This terrifying vision, during which the Blessed Virgin showed the "film of sinners" to the visionaries, on September 15, Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows.
Then the terrified protestations of the children were heard: "No, no! , , , What horror! How hideous! Take that away (from our sight) . . . Yes, sacrifices (for sinners)! . . ." And in pathetic attitudes of pleading, they called on Divine Mercy.

    September 16, 1962 : EXPRESSIONS OF CHARITY

Of the many teachings Our Lady gave at Garabandal to the visionaries and all of us, were lessons in charity. On one occasion, the Blessed Virgin gave a very pointed lesson on charity that would not be easily forgotten by those in the village. Father Valentin Marichalar, the pastor, made the following entry in his journal for September 16, 1962, a Sunday: There is a man in the village who is half crazy and does stupid things that could be very wrongly interpreted by the visitors who don't know his mental condition. He had been in an insane asylum for a year and now has decided to stay here. This is causing trouble and annoyance, and he will have to be sent away. During the ecstasy on this day, Loli and Conchita went to the house where this disturbed man, Alfonso, was staying and, with a crucifix, they made the sign of the cross there on the pillow of his bed. And while passing by him, they gave him the crucifix to kiss several times. The disturbed man froze on his knees. That night Father Anzizu commented: "What a lesson in charity the girls have given us."

Conchita was asked why she had gone to the place where the deranged man was and had repeatedly given him the crucifix to kiss. She answered, "The Virgin told us: 'You despise him, but I love him.' " A response like this put us down, making us see our great lack of charity.”

Liz Yore made the comment “Our Lady of Garabandal told the three or four children that a synod is going to happen, not a council, but a synod, and that once this big synod happens, then the Anti-Christ will appear in the Church,” This is completely incorrect ! As an expert on Garabandal, I can assure you she does not know what happened there. First there were 4 girls (not 3 ), and secondly the Blessed Mother NEVER spoke of the Anti-Christ EVER at Garabandal ! She only mentioned that there would be a Synod, before the prophecied " Warning:".

Glenn, Our Lady of Garabandal said the following according to Jacinta:

    Q. You have also said that when things were at their very worst then the Warning would happen. How do you know this? Did the Virgin tell you or did you see it in a vision?

    A. The Virgin said that the Warning would come when conditions were at their worst. It wouldn't be just the persecution either because many people will no longer be practicing their religion.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church describes the Church's Ultimate Trial:

675 Before Christ's second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers.[574] The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth[575] will unveil the "mystery of iniquity" in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.[576]

    574 Cf. Lk 18:8; Mt 24:12.
    575 Cf. Lk 21:12; Jn 15:19-20.
    576 Cf. 2 Thess 2:4-12; 1 Thess 5:2-3; 2 Jn 7; 1 Jn 2:18,22.

So the "ultimate trial" is the period of the Antichrist according to the CCC. The Church has always stated that the period of the Antichrist will be "the worst period" that the Church will face. This same period of the Antichrist, then, must be the period when things are "at their worst," according to the Virgin Mary, right?

Where you are mistaken is this is not the time of the Second coming of Christ, so none of that scripture applies to the Warning. It will be world conditions that are their worst , Mary never mentioned the AC being involved before the Warning & Miracle. " IF " it comes to fruition, the "Chastisement " period will be the worst ever.

    Glenn,

    1. The "Warning" is just another name for the "Second Coming." The former term is contemporary and Marian (private revelation), the latter is Biblical and magisterial (public revelation). Read the descriptions of both and you will find that they are talking about the same event in salvation history.

    2. It is true that Our Lady of Garabandal never mentioned the period of "the Antichrist." She used the phrase "things will be at their worst." But those phrases are just two ways of describing the same period. Otherwise, you will need to find in the CCC a description of an event other than "the ultimate trial" of the "Antichrist" that will be described as "the worst." But you won't be able to find it, because the CCC assigns to "the period of the Antichrist" the phrase "the final trial of the Church." Final means last. There is not another trial, for "the Church," after the period of the Antichrist. That is Magisterium according to the CCC, not my opinion.

    3. And, your statement that "the 'Chastisement' period will be the worst ever" is correct for those who will go through it. The "reprobate" will experience God's Chastisement/Wrath (see 1 Thessalonians 5). Wrath and Chastisement are just two words referring to the same event. The event is "conditional" depending on the person's response to "the Warning." Those who respond to the Second Coming/Warning with contrition and repentance will not experience the Wrath/Chastisement. Those who respond to the Second Coming/Warning with obstinacy and non-repentance will experience the Wrath/Chastisement. The reprobate are outside the Church, so their experience is not included in "the final trial" discussed in CCC 675.

    PNF,
I believe one of the seers stated that Church would be on the point of disappearing which would be a time when the world would be at its worst and need the Warning the most. So, if it is the time of the second coming when John describes a Church in all its glory, the Church triumphant, then why would Heaven be concerned about the Church disappearing before the Warning?

I am looking forward to Glenn’s responses to your posts. I could say more but I know that he will do a better job answering you then I would.

I keep meaning to mention to you that I am pretty certain that the Church has stated that it’s heretical to state that any pope is the Antichrist. I believe we can say that a particular statement made by a pope is anti-Christ. I am referencing something that you posted awhile ago on another thread.

    Hi Carol,

    1. Here is what Jesus said (Matthew 24):

THE GREAT TRIBULATION OCCURS (period of the Antichrist/ultimate trial of the Church):
21 For there shall be then great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, neither shall be. ["neither shall be" means that nothing "worse" will happen to the Church after the "great tribulation," because it is the final trial" of the Church, which the CCC describes as the period of the Antichrist.]

THEN THE SECOND COMING OCCURS (period of the Warning)
29 And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light and the stars shall fall from heaven and the powers of heaven shall be moved. 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven. And then shall all tribes of the earth mourn: and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with much power and majesty. 31 And he shall send his angels with a trumpet and a great voice: and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the farthest parts of the heavens to the utmost bounds of them. [ the "tribes of the earth," the worldlings, shall mourn because they are shown their sins at the "Warning."]

Jesus himself says that "immediately after the tribulation of those days" (i.e., "the great tribulation) that we "shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven." The "great tribulation" is the time when the world "would be at its worst" and when the Warning would be needed most. The Second Coming happens IMMEDIATELY AFTER this "great tribulation." Jesus comes "in glory" to save the Church from destruction. He, and he alone, can save us from the Antichrist. And that he will do at his Second Coming. The Warning is part of the Second Coming. Those who are in danger of going to Hell will be "warned." Those who are in a state of grace will not be "warned." They will be shown what Heaven looks like.

    2. I'm sure you did not do it intentionally, but you have misrepresented my words. I have not said that the "pope is the Antichrist." By definition, a true Pope cannot be the Antichrist. But an Antipope (a pretender to the papacy) can definitely be the Antichrist. That is the situation that I have consistently described. Do you understand the difference? In the history of the Catholic Church there have been approximately 30 Antipopes.

Sorry you are 100% incorrect , since I have FIRST HAND knowledge from Conchita, I KNOW that the " Warning " is a " correction of conscience form God , seeing our sins as He sees them. THIS IS NOT THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST.

Glenn, I haven't said anything that disagrees with your statement that the "Warning" is a "correction of conscience from God, seeing our sins as He sees them." I believe the Warning is exactly what you describe. This is the WHAT/WHY of the event.

Where we seem to disagree is how to the Church has described as the WHEN/HOW of the event. And I believe that "when" Jesus "comes" to "warn" people, and the "how"coming will be as it is described in public revelation as "his coming on the clouds."

So the "Second Coming" is the event described on the timeline of Salvation History and states that he will not come in the flesh. The Warning is the same event, but the description focuses on God's purpose of the event and the individual psycho-spiritual details of the event.

The primary reason we know they are the same event is that they occupy the SAME POINT on the timeline of salvation history (i.e., when "things will be at their worst"/"the great tribulation"/"the period of the Antichrist.)

PNF, No, not intentional at all but I still think that we need to be careful because all we have is a lot of speculation. No one has officially declared anyone an antipope.

Malachi Martinn had said that there is no word for Aviso but that it translates into “to be put on notice”. So why would that happen at the Second Coming? That doesn’t make sense to me, sorry.

    Carol55,

    1. If you want to understand the canonical issue regarding the Antipope, I recommend this book to you: Benedict XVI: Pope Emeritus? by Estefania Acosta. The canonical case is the primary issue. But Ms. Acosta also brings in support for her argument from various prophecies in the Appendix of the book.

    2. Yes, the Spanish word "Aviso" means "notification" or "warning." In the Apocalypse, the event is discussed after the Sixth Seal and again after the Sixth Trumpet. The same event is told from different perspectives in those two place. But, the longest description of the "Warning" is in Apocalypse, chapter 14:

6 And I saw another angel flying through the midst of heaven, having the eternal gospel, to preach unto them that sit upon the earth and over every nation and tribe and tongue and people: 7 Saying with a loud voice: Fear the Lord and give him honor, because the hour of his judgment is come. And adore ye him that made heaven and earth, the sea and the fountains of waters. 8 And another angel followed, saying: That great Babylon is fallen, is fallen; which made all nations to drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. 9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice: If any man shall adore the beast and his image and receive his character in his forehead or in his hand, 10 He also shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mingled with pure wine in the cup of his wrath: and shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the sight of the holy angels and in the sight of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torments, shall ascend up for ever and ever: neither have they rest day nor night, who have adored the beast and his image and whoever receiveth the character of his name. 12 Here is the patience of the saints, who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. 13 And I heard a voice from heaven, saying to me: Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. From henceforth now, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours. For their works follow them.

In the above quote, the three angels (Greek for "messengers") are giving three different "Warnings" (messages) to three different types of people: 1) to those on the right path, the message is to continue to "fear the Lord and give him honor..."; 2) to those who are weak and in danger of following the Counterfeit Church, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen..."; 3) to those who are currently inclined to follow the the Antichrist because they agree with his plans, "If any man shall adore the Beast...."

As you can see, all of these "Warning" messages are about spiritual matters (mainly spiritual idolatry), not worldly stuff (like world politics or economics).

[Continued from previous reply to Carol 55]

    3. The same Second Coming event (Greek = parousia = meaning visitation of Christ the King) is discussed in most of the other major prophecies. For example, in Ezechiel, chapter 34, this is the description:

Prophecy against Israel's [Israel = Roman Catholic Church] Shepherds [period of the false prophets]

1 And the word of the Lord came to me, it saying: 2 Son of man, prophesy concerning the shepherds of Israel: prophesy, and say to the shepherds: Thus saith the Lord God: Woe to the shepherds of Israel, that fed themselves: should not the flocks be fed by the shepherds? 3 You ate the milk, and you clothed yourselves with the wool, and you killed that which was fat: but my flock you did not feed. 4 The weak you have not strengthened, and that which was sick you have not healed, that which was broken you have not bound up, and that which was driven away you have not brought again, neither have you sought that which was lost: but you ruled over them with rigour, and with a high hand. 5 And my sheep were scattered, because there was no shepherd and they became the prey of all the beasts of the field, and were scattered. 6 My sheep have wandered in every mountain, and in every high hill: and my flocks were scattered upon the face of the earth, and there was none that sought them, there was none, I say, that sought them.7 Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 8 As I live, saith the Lord God, forasmuch as my flocks have been made a spoil, and my sheep are become a prey to all the beasts of the field, because there was no shepherd: for my shepherds did not seek after my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flocks:

The Second Coming [the Visitation of Christ the King to deliver his Elect and separate the Sheep from the Goats]

9 Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 10 Thus saith the Lord God: Behold I myself come upon the shepherds, I will require my flock at their hand, and I will cause them to cease from feeding the flock any more, neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more: and I will deliver my flock from their mouth, and it shall no more be meat for them.11 For thus saith the Lord God: Behold I myself will seek my sheep, and will visit them. 12 As the shepherd visiteth his flock in the day when he shall be in the midst of his sheep that were scattered, so will I visit my sheep, and will deliver them out of all the places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day. 13 And I will bring them out from the peoples, and will gather them out of the countries, and will bring them to their own land: and I will feed them in the mountains of Israel, by the rivers, and in all the habitations of the land. 14 I will feed them in the most fruitful pastures, and their pastures shall be in the high mountains of Israel: there shall they rest on the green grass, and be fed in fat pastures upon the mountains of Israel. 15 I will feed my sheep: and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord God. 16 I will seek that which was lost: and that which was driven away, I will bring again: and I will bind up that which was broken, and I will strengthen that which was weak, and that which was fat and strong I will preserve, and I will feed them in judgment.

17 And as for you, O my flocks, thus saith the Lord God: Behold I judge between cattle and cattle, of rams and of he goats. 18 Was it not enough for you to feed upon good pastures? but you must also tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures: and when you drank the clearest water, you troubled the rest with your feet. 19 And my sheep were fed with that which you had trodden with your feet: and they drank what your feet had troubled. 20 Therefore thus saith the Lord God to you: Behold, I myself will judge between the fat cattle and the lean. 21 Because you thrusted with sides and shoulders, and struck all the weak cattle with your horns, till they were scattered abroad: 22 I will save my flock, and it shall be no more a spoil, and I will judge between cattle and cattle. 23 And I WILL SET UP ONE SHEPHERD OVER THEM, and he shall feed them, even my servant David: he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. 24 And I the Lord will be their God: and my servant David the prince in the midst of them: I the Lord have spoken it.

The Covenant of Peace [Period of Peace for the Elect]

25 And I will make a covenant of peace with them, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they that dwell in the wilderness shall sleep secure in the forests. 26 And I will make them a blessing round about my hill: and I will send down the rain in its season, there shall be showers of blessing. 27 And the tree of the field shall yield its fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be in their land without fear: and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall have broken the bonds of their yoke, and shall have delivered them out of the hand of those that rule over them. 28 And they shall be no more for a spoil to the nations, neither shall the beasts of the earth devour them: but they shall dwell securely without, any terror. 29 And I will raise up for them a bud of renown: and they shall be no more consumed with famine in the land, neither shall they bear any more the reproach of the Gentiles. 30 And they shall know that I the Lord their God am with them, and that they are my people the house of Israel: saith the Lord God. 31 And you my flocks, the flocks of my pasture are men: and I am the Lord your God, saith the Lord God.
Carol55, pay close attention to the sequence of the events. First, comes the tribulation caused by the false prophets and the Antichrist, their leader. Second, comes the Visitation of Christ the King (the Second Coming which includes the Warning message). Third, comes the Period of Peace for the Elect. And the conditional Wrath of God, only for the reprobate, is discussed elsewhere in Ezechiel.

Hope this helps. If you know what to look for, you will see the sequence of events all over the place in Biblical prophecy. Our Lady wasn't inventing some new thing when she discussed "the Warning." It is the key event of the end times and, as such, is discussed in most of the prophetic texts in some form

Conchita and Loli received Communion from the Angel in the morning at the door of the Church. Loli had an apparition alone at 1. It lasted 15 minutes. She gave medals, rings, and rosaries to the Virgin to kiss. She didn’t leave the house. A widow gave me her wedding rings that day; since she was a widow she had her husband’s ring as well. I put the 6 rings that were given to me on my finger, and without explanation I asked for Loli’s finger and put them on hers. She had 10 wedding rings on her fingers. As she held them up to be kissed, she was returning them to her owners’ fingers.
