We are trained by the agenda around us into what we say or think. If we move against the current it starts to force us back into place. I was watching a short video of the Late Queen Elizabeth's body moving through the streets of Edinburgh. Behind it walked Prince Andrew. A young man began to shout out at him , 'You are a dirty old man!' (referring to his molesting young girls which his mother the late Queen paid millions to cover up. ) So the young man shouting was quite right in what he said and had every right in a free Society to say so. But two hefty men dragged him out of the crowd and he was bundled off by the police. I recall early in the present Pontificate very large pictures of Pope Francis were set up in all the Churches, staring down at us. This had never happened before, they did not place large pictures of Pope St John Paul or Pope Benedict or any other previous Pontiff like this. Clearly it was because there was agenda. They were trying to sell us something. Not Pope Francis himself per se but Pope Francis's agenda. Why the need to do so? Because it is a very radical agenda and they needed to sell us on it in advance. It all reminded me of the huge Portraits of Communist leaders, such as Stalin and Mao Tse Tung they used to raise. We are being manipulated like crazy by experts. The Synodal Way is a Manipulation. The Amazonian Synod was a Manipulation. The New Cardinals set in place are a manipulation. They keep telling us that they care deeply what ordinary Catholics want. But the opposite is the truth. They care deeply that ordinary Catholics believe in and want what they themselves want and what they themselves believe. In truth they despise the ordinary Catholic people as ignorant, superstitious and unlearned.
I’m not blaming them fully, but they lash out if you suggest they did something wrong or are doing something wrong. Some people do not want to know the truth because it makes them anxious.
For everyone that 'lashes out', there are probably many that remain passive because they are genuinely confused or deceived. Even many of those who are unignorant might lack the full knowledge that is required for total condemnation. Conceivably, some might feel intimidated into lashing out for fear of being seen not to do so. Of course, there are many who know exactly what they're doing and are enthusiastically doing so. Men might not be able to make the distinction between these categories, but God can.
I always chalked it up to cognitive dissonance. Like people getting angry because what you say contradicts their beliefs about reality so they dismiss what you say. But it also makes sense that they already know the truth but lash out angrily because their conscience stings.
For many people anger has its roots in fear and their fear procedes from their conscience, because deep down they know or suspect that what is being said is the truth, so they lash out.
Those type of signs were never needed here. The stage was already set many years ago. After the one TLM (and the poor priest who offered it, at a monastery no less) was crushed by the awful Lahey, a conference was set to be held with the former priest, Paul Lakeland, (aka Rev. Aloysius P. Kelley, S.J.) based on his book "Catholicism at the Crossroads". When the awful Lahey was removed, the new bishop went ahead with the conference. Just one more scandal. The new bishop then announced a Diocesan Congress ( originally called a synod) to give the "faithful" a say as to how things could change for the better, to heal after the horrid scandal of the previous bishop. They had their Congress, faithful Catholics were not welcome. It was soul crushing. Meanwhile, in other parts of the country, good Catholics were calling out those here for not standing up. God bless them in their good will, but it was like pouring vinegar in open wounds. That supposed Congress now almost appears to have been a trial run for this insane Synod, especially Germany (where there appears to be yet some good bishops). And, that new bishop has since been promoted to archbishop. Job well done, I guess. This Synod baloney has been in the works for years and years. People in different parts of the world, depending on who their bishops have been and how the scandals have affected them, are all hurting in one way or another. It's been one roller coaster of spiritual, mental, emotional and/ or physical abuse for many, all over the world of Roman Catholicism, be it personal, family, parish or diocese. Detachment from all this crap is necessary, imho, especially in areas where it has been a constant steamroller of anything that smells of tradition. God bless those who haven't had to endure this (synod practice) in real life prior to now. I beg you, be thankful for what you have, and pray for those in other places who have been and are being crushed, like grapes, as they no doubt are praying for you. "Detach from the created, to become profoundly attached to the Uncreated."
Well said. I also saw the video of that man being hauled off, he probably said what many were thinking about Prince Andrew. I remember the oversized photos of Pope Francis. I actually have a photo of my grandson standing next to a life size cardboard cut out of Francis when we were visiting a shrine gift shop. At the time, it never occurred to me that it was all part of 'the agenda'.
This is completely off topic but I want to point out the print on that beautiful outfit the woman in the photo is wearing. You may need to zoom in a little to see what I’m referring to. The print is itself religious with artwork of Our Lord. I noticed beautiful outfits like this being worn by women from Western Africa when I was at the shrine in Lourdes. Its so impressive to witness imho.
Being a Catholic I think means being a natural Conservative. What does it mean to be a, 'Conservative'? I think a Conservative is someone who conserves. Who keeps to the tried and tested old ways . In the forest of life a Conservative is someone who sticks to well trodden safe paths that others have trod for generations. Someone who is very suspicious of novelties and wonderful short cuts. Some one who builds steadily on the past. So when we see something like those huge posters of Pope Francis in our Churches the first thought that might spring to mind is, 'This is a new thing! This is novel! Why are they doing something they never did before like this?' ..and hackles would naturally rise. As to the Pope his main role is to be a Conservative. Not to make New Teachings , not to invent a New Religion but to conserve the teachings of the past. The very, very last thing we would want is a Radical Paradigm Shift (whatever that means) or a Revolution. A Pope who destroys the past Wisdoms to reinvent the Church. That is not what he is there for...he is there to Conserve and Keep. Definition of conserve (Entry 1 of 2) transitive verb. 1 : to keep in a safe or sound state He conserved his inheritance. especially : to avoid wasteful or destructive use of conserve natural resources conserve our wildlife. 2 : to preserve with sugar.
Remember when he went to the confessional on his knees when he was elected and carried his own luggage on his plane or would talk about how he was thinking of the poor? These were classic PR moves to sell the image that he is a living saint I fell for it, thinking that certain Catholics pointing it out were just cynical.
He hit the ground running. He was never going to be like any other Pope, he was very, very humble indeed , right from the word go, the humblest Pope that ever was... incredibly humble, small apartment, small car, small everything. Incredibly, constantly humble, the most humble Pope who ever lived...and boy did he ever show it. Again and again and again and again...never mind the humblest Pope, surely the humblest human being who ever walked the Earth...always with hundreds of media around him to prove the fact. How could one human being ever get to be so humble? We knew we were dealing with a total saint right from the very start. The secular media told us so.
Wonderful observation! No matter how much they try to squeeze Him out, Our Lord just pops up somewhere else. In only a duration of time, Pope Francis or whoever the progressives manage to stick in his place will be dead and Our Lord will still be Risen.
We had our Radical Paradigm Shift two thousand years ago, when Our Lord killed Death-we need no other.
Who was that Fellow that said 'don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing'(to paraphrase)?
He named himself after St Francis whom many believe to be the humblest and most Christlike saint in the entire history of the Church. No previous Pontiff had ever dared to do such a thing. Did the fact that he did such a thing prove him to be humble , or quite the opposite? Was it in fact a kind of virtue signalling on a gigantic and horrendous scale? He was not only saying how wonderful he was, but how awful every previous Pope had been.
