My sister and I were just talking about this, since this is the school district she and our sister and brother attended growing up. This is a relatively conservative school district and most of the books being removed have LGBT and sexual stuff that is innapropriate. Unfortunately the Bible being removed is not good but it could be put back, since this is an initial pulling of ALL books that have been recently complained about, for review. As far as the Diary of Anne Frank, the version being pulled is the graphic novel edition, which has shocking deviations from the actual diary. It is hyper-sexualized throughout and portrays Anne as having strong lesbian tendencies. It is absolutely disrespectful to her memory and I'm glad it's being pulled. I saw so many Amazon reviews by parents that were horrified to learn what was in it after donating a copy to their school library thinking it was a neat graphic novel true to the original diary.
Nothing against Ann Frank's Diary from me.. And a diary is a diary - and IMO should never have been pulled.. MY WEIGHTIER COMPLAINT. That Said, pulling God's Word.. Sacred Scriptures, which includes the New Testament too, is of another order.. !
Briefly.. Nate seems akin to me.. in the sense of following mucho news.. The EU spends roughly Seven Times as much $$ on Natural Gas - as does the US.. The Kerch Bridge? Russia's set up Aerial Defense in Crimea.. which in the northern terminal of Europe's longest bridge which is vital to Russia's security.. If it goes, all hell shall break loose.. Western news lies/hides/blocks a tonne of info.. just like Hitler did.. This is easily showable.. Zaporizhzhia (huge nuke power plant) .. ? Amnesty International published material on how yes Kyiv's been bombarding it.. Kyiv's Nazi groups such as Azov, Nationalists, etc.. are a no-holds barred group which hides in hospitals, schools, hotels, --- and is responsible for 1000's of Ukrainian lives.. MeanWhile, the world appears to be going to hell in a handbasket and my main concern are us non-elites.. Peace..
Awful to think about, but I believe the food prices will continue to soar. I've noticed pretty much everyone at the market is buying the cheaper store brands, and sale items sell out immediately. He's right, a 72 hour emergency kit is not nearly enough for a crisis situation, but I could never store more than 30 days worth of survival supplies, after that it's up to God. Like Nate, I think the government is not to be trusted. We need to be very aware and informed to protect ourselves. Gas prices are still ridiculous and our electric bill went through the roof this summer, we have never paid so much for electricity. I pray we all have a very mild winter.
I stopped trusting the US Gov't during Watergate.. Food? and other sundries? Shrinkflation is another trick.. Package sizes get smaller and smaller.
Have you thought about dehydrating? It’s soooo ez. And you can vacuum seal in bags they shrink up small and flat and you can store in a file cabinet or shoe box. Shelf life is 25 years. Everything from fruit. Nuts. Veggies. You can rehydrate in soups yummm. You can find lots of recipes online.
I have an oil burner boiler that heats the house plus is our water heater. I paid almost a thousand dollars for an oil delivery this summer . I’m on automatic fill up. As I said, we use the oil off-season for hot water. It helps that I am on a monthly payment plan, but i can remember a year or two ago when my oil delivery would cost about three hundred dollars. This is robbery.
OIL Filled Heaters is another option. It doesn't run on Oil.. Electricity heats up internal Oil and only continues .. so as to maintain a set temp level. It's horrible. We have a gas burner/ hot water heater. We also have the payment plan, and it really shot up last winter. Agree, we are being robbed.
That's wonderful. I have always been impressed by those who have these skills. Do you have a garden? I don't have a clue so I find canning a little intimidating. I've always been afraid I would do something wrong and the food would spoil.
