Hi everybody, Tomorrow wed 15th May has been designated a day of prayer and fasting to keep Ireland abortion free.. the govt are legislating on it very soon. I ask everybody who can join us to please do so and to ask your prayer friends too. For those who find it difficult to fast, Our Lady asks us to pray for the grace to be able to do it. I believe abortion to be a 'secret war' against God. He has taken his protection from the USA because of it. I will pray & endeavor to fast so that the same fate doesn't befall Ireland. I'm an Irishman living on this maelstrom of an Island, I see the reckless abandonment of all common sense by the elite here so as to pander to powers elsewhere. But it's been mentioned on this forum so many times that this 'tribulation' has to happen for the glory of God to come to fruition. Praise His holy name!!
I am going to fast to tomorrow against abortion, I seem to be praying so much lately against abortion now I have to do more. Thanks for jump starting me with this thread. We still have time to prevent this genocide happening in Ireland.
I prayed several Rosaries today for this intention - but struggled to fast. Work is so stressful at the minute that it saps me of my energy & I find it really difficult to fast. But I offered up the stress too.
If fasting is a problem then a sacrifice is good. I'm off wine and coffee for 40 days. I do love my latte and glass of red. I'm hoping pope Francis can intervene. Pray pray pray Mary
Funnily enough I usually find fasting easy, but yesterday I found it very difficult and nearly bombed a few times.
Yesterday was the 1st time I ever fasted on bread and water - I only ever gave up stuff during Lent! I even looked at the Crucifix and asked Jesus how he was able to do it for 40 days when I was struggling to do it for one!
You know that fast there a few days ago went quite well for me for once, I went for the bread and water fast. We should organise another one sometime. I found it easier because I felt through people on this site also doing the fast at the same time I had some community it made fasting easier. Thanks.
Feel free to do it every wed and friday Indy... you will be in community with lots of people on this forum, I find asking Our Lady for the grace to be able to fast makes a huge difference for me.
I need to get my lips sewn shut....what a failure I am...I should give up eating and talking for a week. Lock me in a padded room pleeeeese!!

It is my ardent hope that Boston College will work to redress the confusion, disappointment and harm caused by not adhering to the Bishops’ directives. Although I shall not be present to impart the final benediction, I assure the graduates that they are in my prayers on this important day in their lives, and I pray that their studies will prepare them to be heralds of the Church’s Social Gospel and “men and women for others,” especially for the most vulnerable in our midst.
