Can I please ask you for prayers that my mechanic can find out what is wrong with my pickup and fix it please. He has had it in twice and tired but none of us have a clue what is wrong. I may be facing a huge bill. I feel silly asking for prayers for something so very small when the world is full of real problems. But I have the Greatest Faith in the Power of your Prayers. Praying Padrag, My car has been in the garage all summer - but they were kind enough to give me a complimentary one to get around in - If I added the bills I have paid for cars in the last 20 years would buy me a very nice car. Next year when I semi-retire we become a one car family to cut down the bills -- Ave Maria
Nothing is too great or too small for our Lord! I had some issues with my car this week that was resolved fairly quickly. I will pray for your need as well as your safety until then!

Prayers for your car too!. I am using public transport which is kind of nice in a way. It slows me down and encourages prayer and mediation.
I am seeing a lot more on Public Transport. We passed a Church the other day on the bus and I was the only one who blessed myself passing a Church. The lady beside me gave me a great big smile getting off. You never know.
Thank you so much for your prayers. My mechanic has gone to Spain. Still riding on buses is very prayerful. I feel like a child again. I am saddened that my fellow Catholics no loger bless themselves when passing a Church. Not single one. The last time I was in Rome they pretty well all bless themselves, even passing a simple Holy Statue. So sad. A Sign of the Terrible Times we are going through..
Prayers said for your truck repairs, always a worry. My son is in the same boat. His van broke down up in Maine over the weekend, it's in the shop now. I'm sure the repair will be costly. True, you never see anyone bless themselves when passing a church, statue, or a cemetery these days. All of these little prayerful acts of respect are drifting away.
Prayers for your son's truck too. Usually they are so reliable. I was walking through the park the other day when a gentleman , a complete stranger, glared at me with such vehement hostility and for so long I though he was about to attack me. In fact of I had not been in the company of my very large, extremely ferocious but very good looking dog, I believe he might well have done so. It was only when I walked on a while I came to understand that it was probably the sight of my St Benedict and Miraculous Medal that I wore over my t shirt that had driven him to such a pitch of fury. My Guardian Angel has encouraged me to make a public display of my medals and not to keep them hidden. He says they are much more powerful that way. So it may well have been my medals rather than the dog who keep him at bay. Either way I shall keep them both always to hand.
Do you think that if someone who has little or no faith wears a Miraculous Medal, say because it was given to them by someone special to them, that there is any power in wearing it? I gave one to my son to wear, I don't think he really believes in the meaning of it but wonder is it still powerful regardless.
I think they called it Miraculous partly because there were so many conversions that came from wearing it.

His father was a metalsmith and Eligius, learning this craft from him, became extremely skillful in the trade. Eventually he was appointed master of the mint under King Clotaire II of Paris. Eligius developed a close friendship with the King and his reputation as an outstanding metalsmith became widespread. With his fame came fortune. Eligius was very generous to the poor, ransomed many slaves, and built several churches and a monastery at Solignac. He also erected a major convent in Paris with property he received from Clotaire’s son, King Dagobert I. n 629, Eligius was appointed Dagobert’s first counselor. Later, on a mission for Dagobert, he persuaded the Breton King Judicael to accept the authority of Dagobert. Eligius then fulfilled his desire to serve God as a priest, and was ordained in 640. Later he was made bishop of Noyon and Tournai. His apostolic zeal led him to preach in Flanders, especially Antwerp, Ghent, and Courtai where he made many converts. Eligius died on December 1, around 660, at Noyon. He is the patron of metalworkers. Lessons The use of one’s talents and wealth for the welfare of humanity is a very true reflection of the image of God. The yellow engine light came on, the engine chugged. Diagonosed as carbon build up. New erg valve put in. Then particle diffuser light came on. Erg light cam on flashing. Erg cleaned again.
